As above, not well. I was fine with quoted cost of repair but strangely, could not get this firm to call me back to arrange a repair date

Dave was professional and friendly. We appreciated his candid assessment of our chimney condition and realistic recommendations for maintenance. The company called with an appointment reminder the day before the scheduled service, and Dave called on the day of service to let us know he was on the way. We would definitely recommend Royal Chimney Sweep again.

I'm glad I found this company on Angie's List. They were very accommodating when I called on short notice over the holidays. The sweep called ahead, arrived on schedule on a wet day, was careful not to track any snow/slush into the house, and kept the entire area clean and dust free. He was helpful, informative, and professional. Very happy with the job.

A big kudos to Dave for not only replacing the broken chain on the Lock Top II damper but for also cleaning out our gutters just before the cold and snow came this year. This is the sort of small things we look for in companies we do repeat business with in the future. Thank you once again for a job well done.

Wonderfully. Carter, who did the initial chimney sweeping, was extremely thorough and knowledgeable about his procedure and provided fireplace-use tips. Was considerate of the carpeting and extrusion of the soot so as not to cause any home-interior issues. Took pictures of the fireplace-chimney-associated parts on the roof which I would not have seen otherwise. Also offered suggestions for the fireplace interior - grate replacement - wrong type installed in this fireplace when the house was built in 1989 - and replacement of the gas starter rod, which was warped from use. Explained his recommendations for additional work, all with no pressure, just a suggestion to prevent further deterioration. Did make the appointment for the additional work. Kevin and Randy were there on time, also very considerate of the carpeting, keeping things clean, and were extremely efficient and professional. Provided a recommended grate, replace the gas starter rod, and did the work on the roof. My husband and I are VERY HAPPY with their work. Did my research before selecting this company for a first time visit. I cannot say enough about the all-around excellent experience in working with this long-tenured team.

Dave, the tech that did my inspection, was within the appointment time, did what was expected and even gave me the basics since this is my first fireplace. I was recommended to royal chimney by a friend that uses them and would recommend them to others.

The company called ahead to verify the appointment. The two man crew arrived on time wearing company uniforms along with ID. They worked quickly and effectively to complete the work. The were careful not to damage or dirty any of our property and covered adjacent surfaces to protect from debris. When I asked questions they answered me in a clear and courteous manner. The repairs look to be very well done and the price was as quoted. What a relief to work with a company that does what it says it will do, on time, correctly.

On time, took care by putting down drop cloths to protect carpeting, did a thorough job, noticed a problem and offered solutions, Very friendly.

Joe arrived on time, put plastic over carpets, answered all questions well, cleaned up after himself, did a great job.

Went very well. They responded to email through Angies list right away. Hired because of this quick response time. Did what they said they would do. Still waiting on estimate to repair the firebox, however - this is a little slow in getting this information. Its been 10 days.

After having pest control remove raccoons, I called Royal Chimney to clean the chimney. The workman was on time and congenial. I decided on a cap to secure the chimney from other animals.

Great service, great people, very happy overall

We asked Royal Chimney to come out and do a chimney cleaning and inspection and they charged us $279 for this service. The guy was very nice and friendly, and he did a thorough cleaning of the chimney and found a problem with the siding too. I told him that I suspected a gas leak as soon as he came. When he had finished cleaning the fireplace and chimney, I was expecting him to turn on the fireplace. Instead he told me that they're not authorized to turn on the gas switch in the house, so he couldn't check the leak. He did send me some photos of the chimney cap and siding issue. But he did NOT turn on the fireplace to check the gas leak. So I had to call WE Energies after he left, and the WE Energies guy told us that we did indeed have a gas leak and the fireplace person should have been qualified to check and fix the gas leak. At this point, I was $279 short and I decided to call a cheaper fireplace service. I called another fireplace who told me that they only service "Regency" fireplaces. So I found my fireplace brand (FMI) and called American Heritage Fireplace, who came out, replaced our gas valve and tested it by turning on the fireplace, all for $220. They also told me that their cleaning fee was only $175 as opposed to $279. So if I had called them in the first place, my cleaning and gas leak would have cost only $220 instead of $550.

Dave the chimney sweep was friendly, knew what he was talking about. Scheduler told me he would be here at my home at 8:30AM - arrived at 9:30AM. Got right to it.

Appointment was on time and called stating that they had an opening and could come sooner if I wanted (which was nice). Was very helpful in answering questions. They were careful to respect my furnishings and everything was very clean.

The total experience in 2011 and 2012 has been excellent. Each time I called, an appointment was scheduled for a date within a reasonable timeframe. Carter performed both inspections and was outstanding -- professional, knowledgeable. Explained everything in detail and provided many useful tips for use and care of fireplace. Mason in 2011 was also outstanding. Prices seem in line with, or lower, than other places we checked with. I cannot say enough good things about the company and the employees who have performed work for us. We will definitely continue to use them for all needs related to fireplace and chimney.

THIS WAS PROBABLY THE EASIEST, MOST THOUROUGH CONTRACTOR I HAVE DEALT WITH. AS THIS WAS MY ELDERLY FATHER'S HOME, AND HE WAS NOT RESIDING IN THE HOME AT THE TIME, I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE A KEY WITH THE NEIGHBOR AND IT WAS ONLY NECESSARY FOR ME TO SHOW UP TO TIDY UP THE BILL. I AND MY BROTHER WERE BOTH EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE BRICK SELECTION OF THE CONTRACTOR AND THE TALENT OF THE LEAD MASON WAS SUPERIOR. EXTREME CARE WAS TAKEN BY THE CONTRACTOR WITH THE PROPERTY. WHERE AS I WAS IN A RUSH TO GET THIS REPAIR HANDLED SO I COULD HAVE THE ROOF STARTED, I WAS THRILLED THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO START A DAY EARLIER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR TO ANYONE CONTEMPLATING WHOM SHOULD CLEAN OR REPAIR YOUR CHIMNEY.

All went smoothly. They provided a quote over the phone and explained what would happen. The chimney sweep arrived on time, calling ahead to let me know exactly when he was coming. His work was neat, steady and complete. He answered my technical questions with knowledge and provided information on what he learned about the chimney while cleaning it. The cost was a bit more than I would like, but I would use them again.

The installers came on Wednesday as they said they would, told me what they were doing for rebuilding the furnace chimney. Came back on Thursday to put the liners in the furnace and fireplace chimney's.Had to have access to the house for both the liners, let me know they were coming in and when in the house very small amount of noise.

I use them every year. They are excellent all across the board. They are always on time. They are very accommodating. They never leave a mess.

The whole chimney was crumbling on the outside. Someone told me that bricks were falling out. On the inside of the chimney the bricks had to be removed. They all had to be taken out before a new liner could be put in. They took care of that. There was a hole in the chimney down in the basement that had been there for many years--it was like a metal hole with a cover with a picture on it. I have no idea what it had been used for. It had been that way since we purchased the house in 1974. We had never done anything with it. They did tell me that it was illegal to have that now. So they took that out and patched it up also. Before they even came out, I was able to have my questions answered through Dave. Kevin and Randy were able to help with any of my questions once they were on site. Kevin was always very pleasant, smiley. Both were able to answer all of my questions and were easy to work with. I was very fortunate that they were able to come out so soon. They had just completed a job when Dave was here. Their calendar was cleared for a while. So after Dave took my measurements on 4/26, they were able to come out the following week. They were very professional and yet very friendly.

Initially came in December to inspect and clean a fireplace. The scheduler didn't ask if I had an insert and only sent one technician out. The technician came out and had to reschedule. The first appointment did not charge since no work was performed.The second appointment the two techs pulled out the insert, cleaned the fireplace, and explained what was wrong with my setup. They performed the service, cleaned up after themselves, and gave me a detailed report on the condition of my fireplace. They even inspected the hot water heater flue.
