Good. Gave advice on installing a gas fireplace.

Royal was very nice on the phone. I was able to cancel my appointment without a problem.

I thought the estimator was badly overplaying the problem and solution. His solution was a complete chimney rebuild which the company could do if I would agree to having the chimney shape altered to a simple rectangle. He did offer name of another company that could do the restoration work. This chimney was tuckpointed within the past 12 years by one of Milwaukee's best masonry companies. Other estimates indicated the liner was the problem and this work was completed for a fraction of the informal estimate [$14,000] given. Very pleasant estimator but I suggest getting several estimates before having major work done that may have a simpler solution.

It went fine. He was punctual, laid out plastic so that he didn't get the floors or rug dirty.

I left a message on their voice mail on Saturday. As of Tuesday, they have not returned my call. I don't do business with companies that cannot answer their messages promptly.

When they came out, they said the cleaning was not necessary and to call them next year. They were prompt and courteous and anytime someone says you don't need the work that is great.

Dave did a great job explaining the job, providing good advice on how to use the fireplace in the future. What was most impressive was having Dave install three caps on the same visit, when I didn't even warn him of my intent to do so. (I have two fireplaces and the furnace) He called a co-worker and they brought out two more properly fitting caps. Dave and his colleagues did a great job, cleaned up quickly and left me very satisfied.

They were very nice to work with. They came out and gave options and they were very courteous. They did not do the work.

Good experience. Who knew a Chimney could look so clean. The technician walked me throughout he sweeping process and then after he inspected the Chimney he walked me through some of the issues we had. He also took me into the basement to show me how our other mechanical venting was going through the chimney.

The work went smoothly; Kevin and his crew were efficient and professional. They tore down the existing chimney and installed the new stainless liner on a Friday, cleaned up carefully and protected the area in case of inclement weather. On Monday, they rebuilt the and capped the chimney and installed temporary flashing. Again they were careful to clean up thoroughly. Kevin will return after the new roof is installed to clean the chimney brick. We have used Royal in the past and were again very satisfied with their work.

Fantastic! This is a class operation. They called the day prior to remind me that they were coming and to tell me not to use fireplace night before. Del called when he was on his way. This guy knows chimneys! Was very polite, used plastic to keep from making mess, gave me condition of the chimney at the end, suggested I get a new grate so the price included that since he had a quality replacement grate in his truck. I will not hesitate to use this company again.

When I called them they had someone answer the phone right away. She was very pleasant. They did a good job.

1: Royal chimney service has been servicing our fireplaces for over 10 years now and they are reliable and honest contractors to work with. 2: When the crew showed up w/o Dave, I was a little nervous, as I had dealt with him many times previously and was comfortable with his work. The guys were friendly, reviewed what was to be done and got right to work. The job required them to set up a full scaffolding in the snow and cold. They set up runners going from my front door to the fireplace better than the painters who were there at the same time had doneto protect my floors. Debris was removed quickly and a vacuum was used to capture dust. When we tried the fireplace 24 hours later, it worked like a charm. We received a bid for the same job from Mr. Chimney, but he would have needed to rip bricks off of the exterior chimney to do the work: RCS did not need to do this. The other bid came in over $1000 less than RCS, but we went with RCS because of our confidence in their quality of work.

Arrived on time. Laid down canvas and plastic to make sure that no ashes or tar would enter the house. Cleaned the chimney from the inside, vacuumed all the residue up, went into the basement and cleaned the ash pit, inspected the furnace and water heater connections to the chimney. Inspected the chimney lining, the mortar joints etc. Reported on what was found. Took about an hour and half. He discussed what we should do about the smell and while the chimney was fine now told us what he thought would need work in the future. I thought he was very friendly, efficient, and thorough--and certainly clean. Would certainly hire again.

Royal Chimney was great about promptly scheduling an appointment. Their serviceman was very friendly, on-time, and gave good advice about our fireplaces.

I have used them for about 7 years now. They are always very thorough, clean, and honest. They are willing to take care of items beyond what is covered by the standard cleaning service and will not perform (and charge for) services that are not needed.

The tech was on time, very knowledgeable, and polite. I haven't owned the house for long and never had a fireplace before, so he patiently answered all my dumb questions about how to operate the fireplace. He ran me through the drill and passed on a lot of safety tips. He cleaned the chimney, and you couldn't even tell he had been in the house. He was very careful to put drop cloths on everything, including the rug I had just finished cleaning.

When I called to make the appointment the courteous receptionist asked if I had a coupon and when I replied, ''No'' she offered to use a leftover one from a home improvement show. The chimney cleaner called 25 minutes before arrival as I had requested. I hadn't had the chimney cleaned since I purchased the home and had many questions which the cleaner was very able and willing to answer. Because of the age of the home and the size of the chimney, the standard size caps wouldn't fit and he was able to come up with a solution to meet my needs. The cleaner was very helpful and thoroughly explained everything such that I could understand.

Carter was very thorough; they laid down fabric to protect the floors, answered questions we had, and cleaned the fireplace. They cleaned everything up afterwards. They were a very courteous and friendly chimney sweep.

The crew worked on it two days and it looks good. The crew did a reasonable job cleaning up after themselves, although I did find a few stray old bricks in the yard and the gutters had debris. The crew took a chunk out of a fairly new concrete stoop step, and sent someone out to fix it after I complained- giving me two options in the repair, which was nice. Overall, they did a fine job. However, looking at the examples of work done by other higher bidders, I would think twice if I was really fussy about widths of grout lines, smearing of caulking, and small details such as that.

The work was done quite quickly. There was hardly any dirt on the tarp which he carefully folded up when he was finished. I thought he would go up on the top to sweep, but he did it all from inside.

Dave arrived at my appointment earlier than scheduled and waited until I arrived. He cleaned and inspected the gas fireplace and suggested caps on the flue (lots of critters in the yard). He was so pleasant that I will visit their showroom for a new insert and take his advice about caps. His attitude and work was great. He cleaned up completely before leaving.

Everyone from Royal Chimney Service was courteous and professional.
