I received an estimate for a new roof, gutters & siding from Mr. Peterson. He was very pleasant and prompt in giving the estimate, but it took almost 2 months longer than he initially estimated to get the work done, and I had to call multiple times for updates on when the work would start. The work done was quite satisfactory, and a very good value for the price. The workers were neat, courteous, and efficient once they arrived and began the job. Several times during the work, Mr. Peterson requested partial payment for the work/materials done, which I provided, and full payment was given on the day the work completed. Approximately two weeks after the work was done, I received a notice of a lien placed on my property by the supplier of the roofing material, as they had not yet been paid by Mr. Peterson. Despite multiple phone calls to Mr. Peterson notifying him of this issue and insisting he take care of things, I continued to receive notices from the roofing company, including their lawyers eventually. It was not until I contacted legal representation myself, who contacted Mr. Peterson and the roofing company, that the matter was resolved. Overall, I think the company does good work, but that Mr. Peterson is just not a very good business man. For as long as he's been in business (his letterhead says 40+ years), I'm very surprised he doesn't know how to better manage cash flow and give accurate estimates on when work will be done. If you're not in a hurry and looking for a good value, I could recommend the company. Just be sure you keep meticulous records of what is supposed to be done, when it is actually done, and that you've paid for everything!
