Nimmer Heating & Air Conditioning

All the folks I dealt with at Nimmer have been wonderful to work with. They arrive when they say they are going to and did everything they could to keep me comfortable until the furnace arrived.

We have used Nimmer several times over the past years, including replacing our central air unit, and then our furnace a few years later, as well as for routine maintenance and service calls. They are always friendly, on time, and good at explaining what is going on. Their customer service is excellent, and everyone we've encountered is knowledgeable. We are very happy with both our AC and furnace units.

It's generally been good. They were professional and prompt.

Went fine, arrived when he said he would. An earwig bug (!) was found in the contactor which did not allow the 240 volts to go to the unit. He called us out to show us the bug in the contactor unit to assure us that that was really the problem. He also checked the puron.

The service people for Nimmer, both on the phone and in in person, are friendly and knowledgeable. I've never felt as though I've been sold a bill of goods for something we didn't need.

A representative came the day following a call for a quote; after we accepted the quote, we were told the soonest they could do the install would be October 17. They they called and asked if they could move up the date and performed the work a week earlier than anticipated. The installers arrived on time and completed their work in a timely manner.

I had several contractors look at the project and Nimmer had the best approach. They recommended a variable speed furnace that qualified for Focus on Energy rebate which they provided the form that was easy to fill out. They provided several options on the water heater. I was impressed that they did not try to sell a number of duct modifications as some of the other contractors were pushing for and suggested seeing how well the system cooled the upstairs before possibly unnecessarily spending money. Their cost was also slightly under some of the contractors that did not propose the same quality furnace.

First called for repair. Turned out repair was not possible. Returned as soon as new unit was available to install. They knew what they were doing and got to business immediately. Tested out the new unit and were on their way. As I was a returning customer, they seemed to get to my repair issue the day I called and the replacement was scheduled asap.

They're very reputable. If they put something in it works and if it doesn't they'll correct it.

We have used Nimmer several times, and we are always very pleased. They are always prompt and professional, and they explain everything that they have to do. So far, we have had no issues.

I called Nimmer because they installed my AC 5 years ago. I didn't feel it was getting the house cool enough. They found a leak and put some coolant in the AC. They didn't fix the leak but wanted to come back for the 2 hour job it would take to fix it.. They also fixed a hose in the house by the AC that was leaking. I was told there would no charge as my warranty had just expired. I did, however, get a bill in the mail for labor for 100.32 for one hour work. Rather than call them to come back when the AC is working fine, I will wait until the house doesn't feel cool enough again. I wish he would have fixed the Puron leak outside as I wouldn't have been charged for parts, then, as he didn't charge me for parts because of my warranty.. My warranty will be expired too long to use by the time i call them back. All and all they do good work. They were very prompt, and professional. I might use them again , but I'll call around for someone that charges less than 95.00 an hour.

After comparing quotes from 3 other contractors all were within $200 for same size 13 seer AC units. Checked all contractors on bbb, Angies list, dealers list etc., and certified installers. Per "Consumer Reports" all major brands are good but it IS the INSTULATION Quality that counts the most! If it is not properly installed and balanced you will not get the savings and may have failures due to improper install. We chose to go with "NIMMER HEATING &AC" because of the certified installer and the overall ratings we found. Mark Nimmer was our go to guy and answered all of my many questions and was upfront about all my options. With his encouragement we applied for, and were approved for the "FOCUS on Energy ENHANCED REWARDS Program". This allowed us to afford to up grade to a more efficient system and as our furnace was 20+ years old we bit the $$ bullet and got it all done at this time. The complete job was done in 1 work day, and all cleaned up. We are happy with Nimmer and the system we chose and thank MR. Nimmer for all of the above as he was the only contractor that made us aware of the "ENHANCED REWARDS from focus on energy that we may qualify for .(and we did) Of course now that we have a working AC the 95+deg. we had to endure for 2 weeks have subsided, but like when I go fishing~ they were biting like crazy just the day before. ~*NOTE` if you have pilot lights on your water heater or stove check them after the work is done, We woke up the next day to no hot H2O, pilot on water heater was out, no big deal, but a pain in the A.. to re light at 05:30 and a tepid shower B 4 going to work. Not a slam but the install crew my want to include checking pilots on the" things to do before you leave" list!

The service was flawless, the tech was on time, fixed the issue without add-on's, and was very honest as to the age of eq.....Furnace over 30+ yrs old need new, and A/c could use upgrade. They certainly have a new customer for life, as well as anyone else I can send their way. A very BIG THANK YOU NIMMER!!!!!

Keith from Nimmer has serviced us before for our furnace and this time he came for our AC. Each time he comes he is a pleasure to work with. He is friendly and honest. We had Nimmer come and do an AC tuneup for us and the weather was not warm enough to do a complete tuneup, so they came back another day to finish up the complete tuneup. They topped off the fluids and completed the tuneup. Very honest and a pleasure to work with.

The technician arrived a few minutes early. A heating company I had had come out last year told me that my furnace was about to die and should be replaced immediately (new one to be installed by him), but Nimmer's technician charged me 1/3 less for the tuneup and said that despite its very advanced age, the furnace was working well and I should wait till something actually broke. He also cleaned and fixed a leak in my never-before-serviced AC (5 years since I moved in). Courteous, frank, efficient, punctual - I will definitely be calling Nimmer again. And, a 10% Angie's list discount, which I didn't even know about, which just paid for my annual subscription!

Service was prompt and carried out in a very professional way. The company receptionist was very plesant and noted that their prices were not the highest, but neiher were they the lowest. As she put it, we do top quality service for middle of the road prices. Love the honesty. I was pleased with the service and will be conducting additional business with them in the future.

I called Nimmer for a furnace tune up. The appointment was promptly made for two days hence. The technician showed up about an hour early (a shock for my wife) and did the work requested. The total cost consisted of an air cleaner filter (~$40), humidifier pad (~$28), tune up (~$95) and taxes. I always use Nimmer because they are close to our condo complex and are considerate of the quirky rules around here.

As described the group from Nimmer installed furnaces and air conditioning in our home several years ago overcoming issues with this old home and completing the project in a reasonable period. The Nimmer group continues to service our heating and cooling seasonally. They are prompt, polite and easy to reach. Last spring they came promptly to fix the air conditioner which went out during out long hot spell last year.

I've used them for years. I like their pricing. They are trustworthy.

I explained to the contractor problems I have encountered in the past with other work that has been done for me. He assured me the replacement heating and air conditioning unit would go smothly. He explained thet the current location of the condensing unit out side the house needed to be moved to comply with the electrical code. I was reluctant, but in order to be code compliant I agreed. I paid an additional fee for a 4" wide filter box to be installed. After being notified that the work was complete, I went to look at my new purchase. The new condensor was installed in the original spot, not in the new (code compliant) location. Okay no real big deal, I proceeded downstairs to see the rest of the installation and notice a 1" filter box where a 4" filter box should be. At this point I was done looking at the work. I imeediately called the contractor to inquire as to why the job was completed the way it was. He explained that what I told him did not sound correct at all and he said he would like to double check what I explained to him. (So now I need to make arrangements for someone to meet him again as this was a vacant rental property with tennants moving in shortly). He contacted me to let me know all was reworked as per the contract. I then called the city to verify the permit was signed off by them, and they informed me that there was none on file for my job. I was charged for this so I contacted the contractor again to inquire about this issue, and he assured me all was fine. After a a few days the permit issue was resolved. Was the work finished to my satsfaction? - yes Should I have to check and double check contractors - no Will I use them in the future - for warranty work

We called Nimmer because they had checked our furnace a few years prior (as an Angie's List referral). This past summer we had a "complimentary" furnace inspection from another local competitor, which was part of a deal when we had a garage heater installed. With the start of the heating season, we noticed our furnace was firing up twice every time it came on. We were going to attempt to clean the flame sensor ourselves (diagnosed this on Google) but decided to call back Nimmer (rather than the company who provided the "complimentary" service), because my husband especially liked Nimmer the last time they were to our home. Thankfully we called them, because not only was the flame sensor dirty but the gas valve was faulty and releasing way more gas with every fire-up than should be (explaining the loud "poof" at every fire-up). The technician explained that our valve was not adjustable (some are but ours was not) and that it had to be replaced. He arrived promptly, replaced the part, cleaned up and got the furnace up and running in a safe manner. He was very courteous and professional and even left the old valve, as I imagine some people like to examine the old "part" just to make sure it was actually "broken".

Job went very well. The company revoved the old oil boiler and installed a new boiler.

My husband and I had our furnaces inspected for winter and decided to purchase 2 new ones. We own a duplex. When we called for the tuneup, Nimmer was on time for the appointment and the work was done. We were given an estimate to install 2 new furnaces. We decided we would replace them. We called for an appointment and Nimmer came the day they were supposed to and worked until they were done. Tim and Tyler did an excellent job and kept us informed of what they were doing. When it was there time to go to lunch, they informed us, and an electrician might be there in the meantime and things were set up for them. They returned quickly from lunch and a short time later the electricians arrived and did their part of the job. They showed the new furnaces to my husband and explained very thoroughly how they operated. Tim and Tyler did a great job keeping the area clean and made sure we were satisfied.

I decided to not pursue getting a quote from this company. If they don't answer their phones for a quote, how are they going to be for a service call?
