Description of Work: We were shocked and dismayed when we opened our tightly wrapped antique quilt, which we had entrusted to London to clean/refresh before storing it. Sections of it were shredded! They examined the 120 year old crazy quilt and said that they could easily prepare it for storage. They stated that they have done all the work needed by the Milwaukee Public Museum for 30 years. Our family had been going to London Cleaners for three generations. I had good reason to trust that the company was experienced and qualified enough to handle this delicate quilt. It was cleaned 2 or 3 years ago. Yesterday, a relative asked me to send photographs of the piece. I opened the quilt for the first time since it was cleaned. It was very tightly wrapped with tissue taped around it and the outer bag was folded tightly onto quilt and stapled shut. I remember the clerk cautioning me to leave the piece wrapped in the acid free tissue “as is” as long as it was in storage and to place it in a dark closet (no sun). She spoke as though she appreciated the exceptional quality and value of this antique. My family had treated this quilt as a piece of art work and preserved its integrity; not one section of the quilt was torn or deteriorated. It was always in such good condition that I did not fear taking it to show and tells at school and entering it in quilt exhibitions at which it won awards. Now there are more than a dozen of tears and missing sections of fabric! It is so bad that I will not be able to display it on our wall ever again!

dry cleaning
+ -1 moreAfter cleaning the sportcoat (wool/cashmere blend) there were several spots of some sort of powdery residue left on it. I brushed them off, but they came back. I took the jacket back and showed it to them and they recleaned the jacket for no charge, however the problem continued. I didn't take the jacket back a third time, and eventually whatever it was has stopped returning.

Description of Work: They do our dry cleaning and they repair our shoes. They do other minor repairs,like zippers, snaps or straps.

+ -1 moreTHIS IS THE ONLY PLACE IN THE AREA THAT AGREED TO REPAIR A WORN LEATHER SEAT CUSHION. SEVERAL OTHER PLACES ON AL SAID THEY DON'T REPAIR LEATHER ALTHOUGH THEIR LISTING SAID THEY DO.
