Description of Work: KWK fixed a problem I was having with the circuit to my garage tripping on a regular basis. After assessing everything, they discovered that a switch box on the garage was not properly sealed which allowed moisture to get in and corrode the wires. After diagnosing the problem, a technician came and replaced the switch box and corroded wiring and I haven't had a problem since. Everyone I dealt with at KWK was very responsive and professional and they clearly explained everything they were doing at each stage. I booked KWK through my home warranty so I cannot attest to their pricing since the problem was covered by my warranty but I can say that I have used KWK for a couple of other electrical issues in the past and have been happy with my experience every time. I would definitely recommend them for any electrical assessment or repair needs.

Description of Work: Hanging light over a kitchen peninsula lost power. Took the electrician about an hour to figure out how to properly unscrew the fixture from the ceiling. In doing so he badly scraped a brass fitting with his pliers which cannot be replaced. He discovered a bad transformer and then left it to me to contact another electric company to order the part rather than do it himself. He was nice but clearly not up to the job. I'll look elsewhere next time.

Description of Work: KWK restored electricity from our 1926 house to our detached garage. The house has old and unusual wiring and Ken and Tom were very persistent in locating the problem. They rewired and remade indoor and outdoor connection. They made sure the new switches and lights worked. They worked more hours than they originally thought would be needed, but did not charge us extra and still gave us discounts. |We are very satisfied with the work Ken and Tom did, they were friendly and helpful.

Description of Work: Installed and connected heater in greenhouse. Ran a line with appropriate rating for same and added circuit breaker to main box to handle the required amperage. Tested and reinstalled outlets to existing line in greenhouse. Added switch for exhaust fans, and reversed fans in housing to add circulating in greenhouse.

I WOULD HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. KEN PERSONALLY WALKED THE TWO WORKMEN THROUGH THE PROPERTY WITH ME AND I FELT MORE THAN COMFORTABLE WITH HIS SUGGESTIONS TO REMEDY PROBLEMS. THE TWO MEN THAT WORKED ON OUR HOME WERE VERY COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL AND COMPLETED THE WORK WITHIN THE TIME FRAME WE NEEDED.
Description of Work: KEN KMET INSPECTED OUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON 10/20/05, AND THEN THE COMPANY PERFORMED WORK IN LATE DECEMBER AFTER WE PURCHASED OUR HOME. NEW OUTLETS WERE INSTALLED IN A FEW ROOMS AND THE REST OF THE HOUSE WAS BROUGHT UP TO CODE (WITH THE MAIN FOcUS ON THE BASEMENT). NEW LIGHTS AND CONDUIT WERE ALSO INSTALLED.

 + -1 moreWe had been having constant trouble with circuit breakers tripping whenever things like the vacuum or dehumidifier were turned on. There were just not enough outlets in the house to accommodate our needs. Neal, the electrician was very professional, friendly and down to earth. He put us at ease about what had seemed to be a monumental project and explained in layman's terms how the house was wired and what they would do. The work took Neal and his assistant one full day. Given the age of the house, I was very pleased with how they were able to install all the new outlets without damaging the old plaster walls. What few little ''dings'' they did make, were patched and a cap was placed over one outlet hole which did not work. They are now undetectable after we touched them up with a bit of paint. The work was scheduled and completed very quickly after we decided to go with their offer. I think the price was reasonable and will definitely use KWK Electric again.
Description of Work: The following work was done in our 100+ year old two story house: A new electrical sub-panel was installed. Seven new wall outlets were placed both upstairs and down in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and den. One outlet which a previous owner had sloppily installed was reset properly in the wall. They also fixed one of those upstairs downstairs wall switches that was wired incorrectly.
