Visited the showroom on a Saturday, very friendly and no pressure. Gave me a ballpark verbal estimate right there, and that was the final price. Called later to set up the appointment and specs. They were able to re-schedule with no problem, and did the work exactly when they promised. Good quality door has worked perfectly.

They were prompt, the prices were reasonable and they are very dependable. I have used them in the past and like their services!

They us the estimate right away. They are very professional and it's been a good job up to this point. They came and looked at it, and he sent me a written estimate of what was involved and then we made some changes and he sent another estimate with that.

Visited their showroom and was given a general estimate. They then confirmed the estimate when visiting my home. I shopped them at various places. Their pricing was on the low side/ in line with other quotes. They even beat the price of a membership club. Their prices for accessories were also less. They were very conservative and not pushy when it came to selling. The instillation was extremely smooth and quick. There was little wait between estimate and installation. We did order a standard door. All in all, I highly recommend them.

When they sent somebody to remove the old garage it is supposed to be a controlled fall. There was one guy with a bobcat; they broke our fence. The only thing that stopped our garage ending up in the neighbors' pond was a tree in the way. He drove in to the garage and just started bashing. So we had to clean up, get the debris out of the fishpond, and fix our fence. I called them and said that when you come to remove the old driveway, I do not want this man on my property. They poured the slab for the garage and it sat for the time it needed to. The day they were to take up the driveway, they sent the guy who took out the garage. Only him. I sent him away. It took an extra two weeks for them to schedule somebody else to remove the driveway. The garage itself looks nice. They used the wrong kind of nails on the siding so the nails all stick out a bit. The cement work they did is not lasting very well, it's heaving and cracking, partly because they did not attach it to the existing driveway - you're supposed to put rods in to attach new pieces. Depending on the time of year, it'll be higher or lower than the existing driveway. Every day I was picking up their breakfast trash and cigarette butts out of my backyard. And I had a trash can right there. I called and asked them how I could not complain about their work, would they take some money off, but they didn't care. So I complained to everybody.

After a late start I got over my initial irriatation and everything went smoothly. My new garage door was installed quickly. I received a quality door. I was pleased with the company's responsiveness. I am happy with the door and the overall service. I would use them again. Next time we will do a better job with communication.

We met Steve the salse man at the NARI home improvement show and called him shortly after. He honored their special with just a minimal additional cost for the odd shaped opening. After he came out to measure, the gave us an estimate good for 60 days. We called to say go ahead, they ordered the doors and set up a time to install. it took all day due to the age of the garage.. We ordered doors that resemble the old fashioned pull out doors and the outcome was better than expected.

I made an appointment for an estimate and Shawn from JD Griffith came when he said he would. Shawn took some measurements and explained what needed to be done. He invited me to their showroom where I went later that day to look at garage doors. Shawn then explained the various styles as well as explaining about the type of garage door opener they were using. I selected a garage door and put in my order. The door came about 2 weeks later and a date was selected. At that time Shawn thought that it would take a day and half to complete as a new frame needed to be done to bring the door up to code. It turns out that Shawn was correct. It did take a day and half to complete The installer came when I was told he would and got the frame and the door up. He was not able to get the opener installed or the hardware on. But what he had done was wonderful. The door was perfect and the side trim matched my trime spot on! Shawn also stopped by to see the door and we talked about how things were going and how nice the door looked. The installer came the next day again at the time he was scheduled to start. He installed the door opener and finished the door by instaling the hardware. There was a problem that the weather stripping was not long enough and the cover of the key pad was white instead of brown. He said that had notified Shawn about these problems and that they would take care of it. Then he should me how the door opener and key pad worked. He made sure that I was able to work everything. Sure enought in less than 2 weeks, he came back and took care of the weather strip and put on a brown cover for the key pad. I am very pleased with my door and the experience. Everyone was very professional and took time to answer my questions and address my concerns. If I need any garage work in the future, I will be be sure and contact JD Griffiths!!

The door on my 1-1/2 car garage needed to be replaced. I called JD Griffith, and their representative came out the same day to give me an estimate which I accepted. My new garage was installed 3 days later. The price also included a new garage door opener. I was extremely impressed with their personnel (Shawn, the sales rep, and Michael, wo did the installation). Mike did a great job and also answered a number of questions I had. Super people! I would highly recommend them!

We were looking for a basic door but I didn't want the cheapest door available. After calling three companies, we decided to go with JD Griffith's as they were the most professional and most comfortable to work with out of the three. The price was in the middle of the pack but I felt for the price, the quality of the door was worth it. Installation went smoothly and they cleaned up and removed the old door and parts. No complaints at all.

After trying to repair the cables of our wooden door, we researched companies to buy a new door. We compared prices and quality and decided on this company. We have been pleased with every aspect of our experience with this company.

JD Griffith & Steve did an excellent job & gave me the best price. Steve knows what he's talking about & has the ability to get a good idea of what the customer wants. He told me what he thought would work best & that's how it should be. (Since i don't know a hill of beans about building a garage). Steve went beyond the call of duty with me, as I was quite indecisive on certain issues with my garage (biggest being where the service door should be & steps). Steve came out, I think 3 times, to make sure I was happy with the garage plans. ( I think I gave new meaning to: the women who can't make up her mind - lol). The contractors used were extremely nice, professional & punctual. Partial sidewalk that was put in - I let the contractors decide. They chose to angle it & slope it - very nice. Couldn't believe my garage was up in 1 day - totally completed in probably 3!! Being on a partial hill, I am very happy for their quality work, especially with last summers storms - no flooded garage! In hindsight: I wish i would have had them add gutters & should have asked for a service door with both handle & deadbolt. Love, love my garage & should have done it years ago!!

the estimator came out to look the day previous to the installation, gave me an exact cost and time frame.On the day of install the technician arrived exactly on time and promptly replaced the garage door (about 2 1/2 hours and promptly cleaned up and charged the exact amount quoted.

Excellent experience. The morning we were to leave town the garage door would not open all the way. We called J. D. Griffith's who got us on the schedule and said they would try to get to us by noon. We got a call back within the hour from the serviceman who arrived shortly thereafter and completed work by 9:30 AM. I've had Griffith's do work on my door before and have always been completely satisfied.

The initial sales presence was good, we signed the contract in April and asked for service to start on Oct 4. They started late but failed to notify us of the change. We had to call to get a new start date. They demolished the old garage and cleaned up the debris in one day. The next day they put in the foundation for the concrete and laid rebar. There was no work or communication for one week, we had to call to see when the concrete was going to be delivered the sales person did not know (his guess was off by two days.) Once the concrete was poured there was no work for two weeks (due to the concrete curing) but no communication as to the expected time line, reason or when to expect workers at the house. We were not notified as to when the carpenters would start work. One day, the lumber was delivered the next day they started working but we were never informed by the sales person. The carpenters got the lumber and built the garage frame in two days, sheathed it and put the roof on, there was a one day delay on the siding but they came back on the weekend to wrap up. The sales person did not communicate with the carpenters that there was an exhaust fan and window to be put in upstairs. The sales person also did not note the sub-floor even though it was in the contract. Fortunately the carpernters were exceptionally good and professional, they worked with us to make the changes and got everything there while the sales person was "deer hunting" and couldn't be reached. The electrician was a subcontractor from Spring City Electric. He did a great job and took in to account some requests from the carpenter regarding placement of conduit so the attic sub-floor could be installed. The roofer noticed that we had picked a color that did not match our house shingles and called us (we had left our number in the garage) and made the change. This was great service and much appreciated. The overall construction and the crews that were at the house were A quality. Our biggest complaint was that the sales person (our main contact) did not communicate with us or his crews. Both the crews and us were frustrated with the lack of communication.

Great! They came early in the morning following the day I called. The work was done quickly and professionally and I was advised that I might think about a new door as the present one was not in good shape, and that it probably won't last very long.

The garage door wouldn't go up. I called for a repairman and was told one would be over in the early afternoon, perhaps the late morning. I got a call about an hour later from the repairman saying he was on his way. The repair took about an hour and a half.

The sales consultant that worked with us was very friendly and responsive to most of our requests. There was a misunderstanding regarding the electrical that will be explained later. Overall the project went well. Concrete looks great, drains appropriately, absolutely no complaints. However, my one complaint with the company is there were a couple of misunderstandings regarding the concrete. FIrst of all the garage was to be wired with 220v electrical for a heater and compressor. Before the slab was to be poured I spoke with the foreman and explained this. He acknowledged and said they would run a conduit through the concrete. After the slab was poured I saw they had run a small 3/4" id pipe that was too small for 110 much less 220. When I spoke to my salesperson about this he said that we had never discussed anything beyond basic electrical which I know isn't true because I know I told him I wanted 220, extra flourescent lighting, and at least one outlet on each wall. The resulting fix was to run an outside conduit down the side of the garage, then down the side of a retaining wall then to the house. It looks tacky, but short of digging up the entire slab and re-pouring, it was the only option. I ended up contracting with a different company for the electrical portion. The other concrete issue was that they completely forgot to deal with the additional concrete porch behind the house they were supposed to pour. We ended up cancelling this portion of the job after three months and paid the remaining balance. Personally I felt the price was a little high given that another $2000 of electrical was still required. However, I have no complaints with the quality of the work to this point. One of the extras I requested was a commercial-grade steel framed, steel service door with deadbolt for security. J.D. Griffiths was happy to oblige. Overall the quality of the garage seems just fine and appears to be holding up just fine after two years. The deadbolt on the service door is a little hard to use and it doesn't seem like the bold and bolt hole were lined up exactly. This isn't a huge problem though since we don't use the service door very often.

We had a TERRIFIC experience from start to finish with JD Griffiths. Steve Carr was our sales rep and he was courteous, knowledgeable and treated us like adults. He was superb. Steve followed up with a letter of references and offer to help us with any information we needed. As it turned out, the older motor did not work well with the new door, so Steve offered a very reasonable deal on coming back to replace the motor. The technician, Mike, as also very competent, kind and professional. Having gotten three Angie's List quotes, we would highly recommend this business again.
