+ -1 moreThey DID NOT install a high quality mulch, as I was led to believe they would, given this was one of Angie's GOOD DEALS. It rotted quickly but not quickly enough....the smell was very strong; ALL SUMMER LONG, ALL AROUND OUR VERY SMALL HOME!!!!! They DID NOT put down as much mulch as we paid for.....the square-footage, required to fill-in the beds, was less then we were told we would get through the GOOD DEAL, but nothing was said. We asked them to do additional work which was DONE and that increased the cost from $165.00 to $595.91 We need to remove the remains of the mulch this spring, before it get HOT, and install colored stone!!
Description of Work: They DID cut-in a mulch bed that was about the correct size and location that I wanted. They DID fill the area with mulch.

+ -1 moreWe disclosed that there was mesh over the second floor gutters at the time of setting up the appointment. After the cleaning, we called to complain that the wire mesh over the gutters was lifted up in random spots and not put back in place. The owner was argumentative about whether we had previously disclosed the wire mesh. Someone was supposed to have come out to remedy the situation, but we never noticed any improvement in the appearance of the wire mesh. We decided it wasn't worth the trouble of pursuing further. This is the second time we have been less than satisfied with a Big Deal from Angie's List and we've learned our lesson.

When finally connected the meeting with Nick went well but he did not follow my request that he let me know when the work was being done so that I could be there. I was disappointed in the quality of the mulch. My neighbor who is a landscaper told me that I received what is usually left over at the bottom of the truck from landscape jobs. It will rot in less that a year. Money spent for nothing. I know now not to by Angies List Big Deals as they are not worth it.

Description of Work: They never came! I have emailed, called several times and only once did they get back to me. When he did finally contact me and we set up a time for him to come out which was 3 months after I bought the coupon... they never showed up! I tried several more times to contact them and they never followed through! I ordered this in May for a Mother's day present. It is now December and the coupon is expired. I never could use it! I am very dissatified and will hesitate to order a coupon like this again. I am out $169.00 Angie. :(

gutter cleaning
+ -1 moreI was in contact with them via email to set up a day for them to come over to do the work and they were reasonably responsive. I wanted to be around when they did the gutter cleaning to ask questions if needed. They said I didn't need to be home but I insisted that I would like to be there. They made an appointment for a Thursday morning. It was raining. I expected they would cancel. They never called and never showed up. I emailed them to find out when they would come next. The following Monday they sent an email saying they did the work on Saturday. I was gone that day. There was no way to prove they were there or not. I wrote to them in an email that I was not happy with their service. No reply.
Description of Work: They were to come to clean my gutters.

+ 0 moreThe workman arrived on time and did a thorough job of cleaning gutters that had not been cleaned out for over a year. He put all debris in plastic bags that he disposed of. Each section was cleaned by hand and thorougly flushed with a hose. The workman was personable, professional and did everything we expected. At one point a small window was broken accidentally by pulling a hose that cuased something out of sight to fall against the window. The workman reported it immediatel. He was apologetic and polite. He repaired the window to our satisfaction - at no cost to us. We will definitely use Immaculate Connection again. John and Patty.
Description of Work: You can expect Immaculate Connection to bring everything thf need to do a good job. You don't have to worry about having your graden hose ready, or to have a ladder. They bring it all and know their way around a rooftop. Good and competent people you can trust to do things right.

I accepted this and we loosely scheduled within a two-week period. Nick contacted me by phone the day before they would be coming out. When I came home from work I was very impressed by the thorough work. They exceeded my expectations because they even paid attention to some areas that we hadn't discussed.
Description of Work: Spring cleanup including: raking both front and back yards, edging gardens, cutting back some overgrown plants and chopping-up and disposing of a fallen tree.

I also wanted the gardens weeded and more mulch than what the coupon included. Hence, the higher price. His workers did a beautiful job with both the weeding and mulch. They did exactly what I had discussed with Nick. The gardens look beautiful and the price they charged was a great deal less than I had paid another landscaper in the past. I have had them out again. This time to remove some shrubs. I was very happy with their work!
Description of Work: We had the garden beds weeded and sprayed and then mulch added. We needed more mulch than the coupon gave us because of the size of our gardens.

+ -1 moreThe after our remodel and new landscaping we developed a leak in the basement. The foundation specialist we hired notice that the grade was incorrect on that side of the house. We hired immaculate connection to correct this problem. They were very prompt returning my call, on time for the appointment. He described the options well. We have not had a problem since. The area was very neat when they when the were through with the work.
Description of Work: We hired them to help with a wet basement. The previous landscapers pitched the dirt so the water was moving towards the house.

He had a two person team out in a week to complete the work. Both individuals that completed the work were friendly and professional.

+ 4 moreWorkman were very responsive to my requests, and were very polite, respectful, and considerate. Showed up when they said they would and were very hard workers. Nick, the owner, is a very personable guy , as well as, very knowledgeable and great to work with!! As a single woman, I really appreciated his respectful approach in working with me. If he couldn't do what I was asking, he would explain his rationale, and we'd figure something else out together. Other landscapers I got estimates from were cheaper and tried to sway me to do it a cheaper way so they would get the jobs. After doing some research, I realized it may cost more to do the landscape the way this company does it, but it was going to be done right ,and it was going to last looking good! You get what you pay for. When these guys got done for the day, my yard was immaculate. No debri left behind for me to clean up at all! The workmen really liked my dog, Timmy, and they were so kind to him being around, and even shared their lunches with him. I would recommend Nick and his team to everyone!! I am very particular, so if I'm happy you will be, too. KUDOS to you, NIck and your team!!!
Description of Work: July 13, 2011 Landscape beds were excavated, and wall of pavers placed on gravel base to prevent shifting around all my landscape beds. Concrete walk was poured to connect current walkway and patio, looked perfect when done. Large drooping arborvitaes in front of garage were removed and stumps ground out. The back corner of my property is way too low with water accumulation problems. Other landscapers I had estimates from couldn't seem to come up with a good solution. Nick quickly figured out to dig gravel lined retention beds that drained well, and I could replace sod over so they were not unsightly. Worked great! That bed due to the water issue had a trench dug w/ gravel fill to prevent shifting with the frost with various sizes of landscape rocks used to outline the bed and pea gravel as a border so I could mow right up to it. IT looked beautiful!! Over the winter I had a couple pavers that had shifted leaving gaps; which can happen, after all it is Wisconsin. Contacted Nick in Spring and he came right out and looked at it; said he would fix it by late summer. Without having to remind him he was here, he replaced the gaping pavers, no charge, and it LOOKS GREAT!

Description of Work: Our split rail fence located at driveway entrance was destroyed when KO'ed by lousy, speeding driver. Immaculate Connection gave us a replacement estimate for necessary yard repairs and replacing entire fence. All work was preformed on time, at a reasonable price and done to our complete satisfaction. Would we use them again?? Absolutely.

+ -1 moreThis review is being written over a year after my last contact with Nick. Nick did come out to the house and give me a written estimate for the work I wanted to have done. I believe the estimate was a fair price. Nick was clean and professional during the visit. I was only seeking estimates and a landscape drawing at the time; not the actual work since I was still entertaining estimates. I did not end up hiring Nick (nor anyone else at the time). I contacted Nick twice asking him to send the drawing but to date I have still not received it, so I basically paid $99 for an estimate. The estimate should have been at no cost. The drawing is really what you pay for. I believe delivery of the drawing that was included in the purchase was Nick's responsibility, not mine to hound him for it. I no longer need the drawing so Nick got a nice tip.
Description of Work: I purchased the $99 offer for a landscape assessment/analysis of my yard with a proposal & drawing.
