Homestead Clocks

We were quoted a price of $180.00 and a time frame of two weeks for this to be done. When we had had no communication from them after 4 weeks, I called and was given excuses of too much work and computer down etc. .After another three weeks they called and said clock was done. We asked about their Saturday hours and were given 1 to 5 PM as their Saturday working hours. We arrived at 1PM on the dot and had to wait 10 minutes for the owner to get there and open shop. The price charged was as quoted, but now the clock runs 10 minutes fast. Needless to say, we will not do business with this company again.

My experience with this business/owner (Mike) was extremely disappointing. Late last year (November 2011), I visited this clock shop and spoke with the owner. I mentioned I had a 60 year old wall clock/door bell that no longer worked and asked if he could help. Mike encouraged me to bring the clock in and he would look at it and propose work plan with cost. I dropped off the clock on December 29, 2011 and heard from him 40+ days later (February 10th, 2012) only after I initiated the phone call. It actually took several days to receive a return call. The owner returned my call on February 14th and indicated he had yet to look at it, but would soon. This seemed a bit odd-given that his receipt indicates "Not responsible for goods left over 30 days." I called again on February 22nd and got a return phone call on February 27th in which Mike (the owner) indicated the clock had a "bad core." He mentioned he had a couple of sources and was looking for the required piece. Mike further indicated he would call within a couple of weeks and let meknow the outcome. I heard nothing and attempted to contact Mike again on March 25th. I got a return call from a lady on March 27th who indicated Mike would be in soon. We finally heard from Mike early April and he said he was still looking. Quite frustrated by the lack of follow-through and professionalism, I decided to pick up my clock and end this madness. I stopped by the shop numerous times during the month of April and each time the shop was closed. I finally found Mike in the store on May 16th, 2012 and picked up my clock. During the pick up he indicated-"Yeah, sorry we couldn't find the part." This information would have been helpful in Mid-March. The lack of communication, professionalism, and courtesy make this one of the worst experiences I have had a in a long time.
