The first apartment repairs were completed in an adequate manner and on time. Ralph did have problems installing the kitchen sink, as he didn't know how the clips worked. Work on the second apartment was left incomplete. Approximately 1 month after the work started, Ralph got in an argument with the neighbor and threatened to walk off the job. I talked him into staying and finishing. A week later, after receiving $900 out of our agreed $1300 and two weeks after the agreed upon completion date, he called saying he is walking off the job due to my not paying him on time. At this point I didn't want to argue with him, as he clearly didn't want to finish the job. Ralph left the following things unfinished: New kitchen floor was not finished, kitchen sink was not secured, wallplates were not replaced, the front door was not installed all the way through, leaving large openings between the door frame and the building. To conclude matters, Ralph couldn't show up to give me back the apt keys at the predetermined time, because he had to spec out another job... For the price, Ralph does adequate work, if you can get him to finish the job.
Description of Work: Ralph was contracted to remodel two vacant apartments for rental. The work included painting, flooring, door replacement, and other smaller repairs. We agreed on two separate contracts, $1300 apiece, to be completed in a month per apartment.

Response from Heritage Homes Remodeling
8-2-11, this is the first time I have learned about my customers feeback posted here on Angie's List. I am shocked to say the least, as this is not exactly how things transpired. Services were suspended for two reasons: 1) delay in payments as agreed 2) Check bounced as no funds were available. The neighbor was not notified that I would be working in the apartment and was furious when his baby was woken up from napping. No further comments. I take good care of my customers and pride myself on exceptional work ethics.
He's a very hard worker and is very conscientious. He is a perfectionist. He always cleans up well when he's finished. He has very reasonable prices. I will continue to use him for any handyman needs that I have in the future when he's available.
Description of Work: He's painted apartments, changed blinds, refinished wood, patched drywall, caulked basements, changed light fixtures, and has done minor plumbing repair, etc. He also installs doors as well. He's done minor repairs for my rentals and for my home. I have used him for a year.
