We could not be happier with the service and results! Joe was only $200 more than our other estimate and was worth every penny. He saved us from making a poor color choice by sanding the floor and then applying multiple stains so we could see how each looked in the room rather than on a small color chart. We were lucky that he was able to get out all the dark stains we found under the carpet. He is not just a refinisher but also an installer. He made us custom transition boards from the hall to the bath (ceramic tile) and kitchen which were not offered by the other contractor we had out. Do not hesitate to call Joe for any hardwood flooring needs!

Joe was a delight to work with. Very much a professional. Did superb job in timely fashion. Very responsible. Clearly knows his business. Job was done on schedule, looked great, and done for very reasonable price. I was planning on putting up my own baseboard, but when it looked like I was going to get into trouble with this Joe offered to stay and give me a hand. I subsequently did it on my own but Joe offered to be available for free advise by phone. This is probably one of the best contracting experiences I have ever had in years of subcontracting home repairs. I wish I had more hardwood flooring work to do because I know who I would give it to. I recommend Joe and his company without hesitation! Only joined Angie's list today or I would have written this earlier.

We were moving to the Milwaukee from the East Coast, and wanted the floors in our new home refinished on the first floor, and carpeting removed and hardwood floors installed upstairs. We received a total of three written bids, and Joe Kasten came in lowest. In addition, he was the most reasonable, since he knew we would be moving into the home when he was refinishing the first floor. He worked the weekend (Sat and Sun) prior to our stuff being delivered to ensure that the first floor was refinished and ready for the movers. After our stuff was delivered, he began on the second floor. However, when he started to remove the carpet upstairs (which he was not able to do when he made his bid because we did not yet own the home), he noted that the subflooring was inadequate so would need to be removed. He spent a great deal of time apologizing, but given the quality of his work on the first floor, we felt comfortable paying more money to him to finish upstairs. In similar fashion, he worked two weekends to get the job done prior to the holidays. Joe and his team were delightful, professional, exceptionally hard working, diligent, attentive to details, and a real pleasure to have in our home.
