We used them on a regular basis for about 7 years. They are excellent. They come in and do what they need to do and do it right the first time.

Overall Gene A. Wagner Plumbing was prompt and professional who did not waste any time in finding the problem and fixing it. They were able to come early and called ahead when they were on their way. We definitely will call upon them again.

Work and product was excellent and I LOVE how it looks. From the first phone call to installation, everyone was professional, courteous and nice and the estimate was right to the penny and their plumber was so helpful in answering all my questions.

Our toilet backed up on a Sunday, and we were hoping we could get same-day service on Monday. I called Gene Wagner Plumbing just after 8 a.m. and was assured someone would be at our home at least by 10:30 a.m. In fact, the plumber showed up before 9:30. We were thrilled! He couldn't have been nicer. He did the work efficiently, made very sure the toilet was working properly again, and explained everything he did clearly. The cost was very reasonable. We would definitely call them again.

I called Gene A. Wagner Plumbing because my condo association has used them several times and their reviews on Angie's List are excellent. We needed a whole house water filtration system removed that the previous owner had installed. With the quality of most city water, there is no need for a filtration system and all it was really doing was choking off our water pressure. I had gotten a quote earlier for about $250 from a different company to remove it and knew that was a little high. The woman that answered said they could have someone at the house in as little as two hours. I was a little surprised by this but went with it and scheduled the appointment for four hours (not two hours) from the time of the call. She informed me that there is a $117 per hour labor fee. I knew it wouldn't take too long so I approved and we had the appointment scheduled. Dave arrived right when he was supposed to, assessed the situation, and got to work. Unfortunately, since we live in a condo, parking is scarce and he had to park about two blocks away. As such I said he could use our buckets to drain the pipes of water. This was just about the only glitch in the visit and it wasn't a big deal. Once the pipes were drained, he cut out the filter and soldered the main back to the rest of the house via two elbows and about a four inch piece of copper pipe. He removed all of his tools and the entire water filter, after several times jokingly getting me to keep it for "nostalgia." Overall the experience was great. The company was courteous and helpful and the work was done in about one hour, he charged me for 1.25 hours, presumably for trip time. I would recommend them.

They are good plumbers and their rates were competitive. I had called another plumber first because I had a drain backup from the sewer mains and he tried to convince me that I needed about $15000 worth of work. He showed up the next morning with all his equipment but I told him to wait, and I called around and got a referral to Gene Wagner. They came out and just used their roto rooter and did the job although they had to work a little bit more. This was the first time that I used them and it turned out to be very cheap, and the cost included running a camera down to look at the shape of the pipe going out to the sewer mains. It turned out that the pipe was in perfect shape although it was installed in 1926. They are honest and they do good work. They are very professional.

I got them on Angie’s List. They did not insist me to buy a new water heater. They were able to fix the one I had. I appreciated because it wasn’t a big hard sell like a lot of places do. They did what was needed, and they didn’t try to push or anything. I paid them $200. Their price was good. They came quickly. They were very nice. I will use them again in the future.

They have always been reliable. They are prompt to come when I call.

Basement had standing water. Received a quote of $400 to unclog basement drain & $200 to camera the line. Was told it would take at least 2 hours. It took the plumber only 20 minutes from arriving to find the cause of the clog - a rubber drain plug had been inserted into the drain (plumber told me it was likely put in by the listing agents plumber). Then the camera was put in the pipe & got stuck. I was told I have to pay $115 an hour until it comes unstuck. I complained I didnt have the money to pay for that, plumber made a call & luckily it became unstuck shortly thereafter. Plumber was only able to camera to the basement wall due to a shifted pipe, was unable to camera out to the street to check the sewer lateral. Plumber told me that if I wanted, he could then & there saw out part of the basement floor & replace the shifted pipe for about $2700 additional & then another attempt to camera out the sewer lateral could be made. However, I was not the owner of the property yet, just someone with an offer on the place doing an inspection, not willing to sink $3300 on a plumbing inspection! All of this occurred in less than an hour. Was told I wouldnt have to pay more than the $600 quoted. I dont have prior experience with plumbers, but $600 to remove a rubber plug & camera the line for 20 feet, less than an hours work seems pretty steep. Would have thought the line would be cleaned before the camera was put in there, especially with the fee charged if it gets stuck! On the up side, they did come out to do the service within a day of my request, did provide a written quote on the additional work needed to replace the shifted pipe & I didnt have to pay more than the quoted $600.

I was extremely pleased with the service. They were prompt. They were easy to work with and honest.

Karl came in took the tour and listened to my concerns. Afterwards he walked me through the repairs and answered any questions I had about the fixtures, age function and expectation for durability. He was very helpful and knowledgable. The gal answering the phones could have been a bit more customer service oriented but hey I guess we all have bad days! Overall I would trust my home to Karl again.

The plumber did an excellent job. He explained the options available to us and found an effective and efficient way to fix our problem. He charged us a fair price. I'd definitely recommend him.

Joe from Gene A. Wagner Plumbing came earlier than the specified time which was great. He had to snake the 1st level kitchen sink, and then went to the upper level just to make sure all the drains ran smoothly. He cleaned up the area under both sinks. The cost isn't cheap, but what is nowadays. If the work is done right, that is most important!

Job was done next day after I called. Job done quickly and to my satisfaction. No problems whatsoever. Would recommend.

I called Gene Wagner plumbing and left a message on their machine. I felt a little annoyed because it was the middle of the business day but I left a message anyway. They called back within the hour and said the plumber could be there in an hour. The water heater would cost about $800.00. I thought that seemed awfully steep. I would have considered anything over $500.00 a little steep. I realize this is 2011 but I know that they get the water heater at a significant discount which they then bill to me. I was calling in the middle of a business day, not at night or a weekend and their plumber would be earning money for himself and them when he might have spent the afternoon idle. A baby and a 7-year-old live in the house and I felt I had to take advantage of their prompt service. The plumber spent three hours in the house, did a creditable job and cleaned up after himself to my satisfaction. I think he may have thrown in the kitchen sink aerator at no cost because I couldn't find it on the bill.

I woke up to a water heater leaking in the basement. I called and received a return phone call as soon as the company opened. Dave arrived within the time frame promised the same day and replaced the water heater. He was friendly and professional.I was very happy with the service. I would definitely recommend this company.

They arrived within 2 hours of calling...surprising. Clogged cleared within an hour, but they are a bit pricey.

I called this vendor to come to my home and give me an estimate and if I thought the price was right perform some work. I thought I needed a PRV installed, but i'm not an expert so I didnt want to just ask for that alone. I called the number listed and the receptionist was very kind and helpful. She said she would forward me onto Scott (owner). She took all my information and promised a call within an hour or two. Well it has been over 24 hours and still no call.... Good thing my issue wasn't an emergency!

I noticed water in our basement on a friday morning 2 hours before having to leave to go out of town. After realizing I could not leave my sump pump just plugged in without the float working, I decided to call Gene A. Wagner plumbing. I got Tim on the phone and explained my situation and that I was in a little bit of a panic because I was leaving town and knew leaving the sump pump running continously would not be safe while I was out of town. Within 45 minutes from the time I called, Tim was at my door putting in a temporary float system so I didn't have to worry when I was out of town. He gave me some options of some more expensive back up systems in the hope that I wouldn't have to go thru this again! I got home from out of town, only to wake up Tuesday morning to a wet basement, not from the work they did, but from my main pump failing. I called at 7:15am and thankfully got Tim again on the phone. I explained I had a wet basement again, and within 45 minutes again, he sent his plumber Karl out! Karl showed up very quickly and was able to install a new sump pump so the basement wouldn't flood again. I decided due to their promptness and professionalism that I would also invest in the back up system that Tim recommended! Karl came back out the next morning without question and installed the back up system! Customer service is very hard to come by these days and I was very impressed not only with how quickly they took care of my wet basement, but how nice and professional they were! I would highly recommend these people and would use them again in a heart beat!! Kudos to Tim and Karl! Since the new system was installed, my basement has been dry!! (:

We were without access to our kitchen and laundry for 5 days while we waited for them to be less busy and file a permit with the city. This was excessive. The guys who came to do the work was not the original plumber. instead these guys took the lazy way out of the job. They didn't dig the well deep enough for the pump, but proceeded anyway with intstalling it. They also were extremely messy, didn't clean up after themselves and thought nothing of keeping the door open to which I had to confront them about. They also consulted with us about putting the drain out the side of the house for it to be more estethically pleasing, but put it through the front of the house because it was easier for them (and an eyesore for us). Fast forward to this spring when lo and behold we have more standing water in our basement. We decided to try and fix the problem ourselves with an auger first and we find that the new drain cover has been cemented to the floor. Talk about making a problem absolutely worse.

Went great, can't complain too much about same day service, but $130 for in and out in less than an hour is maybe a bit much. Nice work though and nice guy.
