Said he would be here at 8:00 AM. I called at 10:00 AM and he said he was on his way. I was worried that sump pump wasn't working properly. Lifted sump pump cap and said tank was empty, switched on switch said it was working, but dry (5 mins) Then tightened outside faucet. All done in 15 minutes. Was rather surprised that I was charged $50.00 on top of coupon which included plumbing service call plus a whole house plumbing inspection and all that he inspected was sump pump and tightened leaky outside faucet.

He was quick and courteous!

Our main sump pump failed one night, which I discovered when I noticed that the carpeting in our basement was soaking wet. After taking everything out of our basement (over a few days), I saw that there was more rain in the forecast, so I decided to give them a call to check our main sump pump as well as find out why our backup pump pump didn't work. They were able to come out right away and determined that the old sump pump was a cheap one that had failed. The plumber also looked at the backup and found out that it had been installed incorrectly by the previous homeowner. It took him at most an hour to not only install a new cast iron sump pump, but also fix the backup. I felt that this was fairly quick since we have a radon mitigation system installed in our sump (which means that the plumber had to deal with a sealed sump as well as venting). The cost was very reasonable as that included not only the labor, but also the price of a new sump pump. The only downside was that the plumber didn't reseal the sump cover, so I had to deal with that after he left.

We purchased the "Whole House Plumbing Inspection Deal" on June 16. It was to include a plumbing service call plus a whole house plumbing inspection. I called Ryan Schraufnagel, the contact person for Dickenschrauf Plumbing Solutions, and a day and time were agreed on. When the day for the plumbing inspection arrived we got up early for the 8:00 appointment. After most of the morning passed I called the number given to me by Angie's list and left a message asking Ryan to call us back at his earliest convenience. The call was never returned. Since then we did have a plumbing problem and called a reputable plumber to attend to the problem. In hindsight, we wish we had read more of the reviews submitted to Angie's List for Dickenschrauf Plumbing. We had no idea so many other customers were also as disappointed as we were.

It went OK. Seemed like he was genuinely interested in trying to figure out if it was a plumbing issue. Problem was in the end he said it wasn't a plumbing issue, meaning all the pipes seemed clear, and that it was likely a pump problem. I called an appliance guy and he basically found it to be a plumbing problem. The appliance guy seemed to overall know his way around the plumbing even better than the initial plumber.

When I called the voicemail was full and I was unable to leave a message.

We had an appointment for some minor work to be done at 11 am. By 11:30 the plumber had not arrived, so I sent a text-message (in response to an earlier text confirming the appt.) asking whether they were running late. Half an hour or so later I received a reply that there was an emergency and they were very busy. Okay, I can accept that - although they should have called me to let me know. I then texted back asking whether they'd be coming by later or if I needed to reschedule. No reply. Not that day, not the next, nor the next, nor the next. If I take half a day off work to meet a plumber, they at least owe me the courtesy of trying to reschedule if they couldn't make the appt. for emergency reasons - and, frankly, a discount. I got *nothing* from them - not even a call or text. Highly unprofessional. Apparently they don't want my business - so they won't get it.

When a person calls a plumber---you usually need them soon---I called both his his numbers today several times and all you get is a voice recording that says to call the other number---or leave a message---then it says the voice message system is full you can't even leave a message----it sounds like it would be a long time to get anything done --- but I can't even let him know I need a plumber---time for me to move on and for this plumber to clear his answer machines

It went great...he was in and out in 15 minutes.

Could not have been easier! After having enough good/bad experiences with contractors and repairs, it was refreshing to have go so smoothly. Yes it was a small job, but Ryan returned emails, and was very responsive. He came out twice, once for the estimate and once for the work. Other plumbers required payment for the service call, then hourly on top. Ryan's service has definitely made Dickenschrauf our plumber of choice!

They were very late which I guess was forgivable except that they didn’t call, I had to call them. When he got here he did absolutely wonderful job. The guy that came in was Rick who did the work. He did a walkthrough and checked everything and I told him about things that I wanted to be done by the plumber. I told him I wanted a new shower in the basement and a water softener installed and he said that he would get the estimate and get back with me but I still have not heard from them. I still haven’t heard about the walkthrough that they did and the things that needed to be fixed. The purpose for that “Big Deal” I didn’t get it. They did the walkthrough they just didn’t tell me anything about it or they didn’t give me the price for it doing the install on the shower or the water softener or anything else. They charged me $200 for them to fix my drain that was clog,

The hose to the sprayer for our kitchen faucet split, and I bought a replacement hose hoping to simply swap it with the now-broken hose. After determining that the hose set up was non-standard (thanks to the original owner of the house), I called several plumbers (water to kitchen was shut off due to hose not working). Ryan could make it the next day, so I set up an appointment. Ryan was on time and indicated that due to the non-standard install of the faucet and hose we would need to replace the entire faucet. He looked at the wastewater lines under the sink which were old and not in great shape, but advised not to do anything with them if they weren't leaking (which they weren't). Ryan picked up a nice replacement Moen faucet and replaced it. He also replaced a failing cartridge in our bathroom faucet. Ryan asked if he could just sent us a bill as he didn't have any invoices in his truck Prior to Ryan's visit, I had put some drain cleaner down the kitchen sink as it was draining very slowly. Over the next day, we had some pipe leakage (old pipes). I called Ryan the next day and asked if he could stop over when convenient and check it out. He came the next day and confirmed that the old pipes were now leaking (most likely due to the drain cleaner). He cut out all the old plumbing, put new waste water lines in, and added a hot water shut off valve (there wasn't one). Ryan said that he'd add the additional time and materials to the bill he had yet to send, which was fine with us. They also offer a great first-time Angie's List customer discount. They have earned a "A+" from us due to their responsiveness, great work, and fair prices! Well done!

It was refunded. I kept trying to schedule and he wasn't available.

Ryan Dickenschrauf did the basement inspection on one of Angie's "Big Deals". There were problems in the basement that I knew about, so he was not digging up work. He made a bid and we set an appointment -- which his office miscalendared. That is why I gave him one "B". We re-set the appointment for today. He showed up on time; made the agreed-up repairs and replacements; and finished in a timely fashion. He even gave me a discount for the appointment mixup; me being a veteran, or because he was a nice guy. I do not kinow, but I will be using Dickenschrauf Plumbing Solutions from now on. It is an "A" provider.

i called two phone numbers- both twice. One number I left a message. Another number given was disconnected. The second time I called the voicemail was full and I could not leave a message.

My experience with him went very well. I bought one of the big deal. He did not charge me anything extra besides the big deal. He was prompt to respond. He was just easy to work with. He seemed very knowledgeable once he was there. His price was very reasonable.

My appointment was at 2:00. After waiting 45 minutes without a call from them, I decided to call. The call went to Voice Mail. I left a message for them to call me back. When I didn't hear anything for another hour, I called the office number. Since this was a Friday afternoon at 3:45, I thought surely someone would still be there. Again, I got a recording. I left another message for a call back. I got a call back at 4:00. He said that his phone wasn't working so he hadn't seen my message until then. He was surprised that no one had called me so he told me he would contact the repairman & call me back. I never got a call back, but the repairman came at about 5:00. This was 3 hours after my scheduled appointment!! The repairman apologized saying that there were so many emergencies. I could understand that but there's no excuse for not calling to let me know this. He never checked all the items that were listed for the whole house inspection. As far as professionalism goes, he didn't look like the repairman they depict on their website. No uniform, no tool box. Just a young man at my door. I wouldn't even have opened it if I hadn't thought it would finally be them. In fairness, he did find a kinked hose that was causing a water pressure problem for me. But the other thing he fixed didn't work after he left. Sorry this is so long, but I hope this helps someone decide whether to use their services or not. I'm glad I didn't pay more than $29!

The reason I provided an overall grade of B, a grade of C for responsiveness, and B for puctuality and professionalism is I have not recieved an estimate for potential future work. See below for additional information. Overall the experience was positive, but thought I would have received an estimate as indicated. I even followed up after 2 weeks, spoke with a receptionist, and ensured they had my e-mail address written down correctly. Am suprised I have not received an estimate or been contacted with an explanation? The overall experience was good. I called Dickenschrauf plumbing and spoke with Ryan. He was able to provide an estimate over the phone based on the information I provided him. Barring any changes from the home / water heater conditions I had described, Ryan indicated the cost would not change. The price quoted over the phone was the price I paid. Additionally, when doing my research, Ryan took the time to discuss different water heater features and provided his input on what he felt was worthwhile. With so many options available, it was nice to discuss the cost / benefit of different features to so I was comfortable with what we were having installed. When installing the water heater, I had additional questions about potential future work (installing arecirculating pump, replacement of galvanized iron water supply and waste drain pipes, etc) . Ryan took the time to review the plumbing and provide his input on what he felt was worthwhile. Took some pictures with his phone and indicated he would provide an estimate. As indicated at the begining of the review, I have not received an estimate or been contacted. Ryan replaced the water heater. Made a bit of a "mess" with water on the floor, but cleaned up after himself before leaving. Replaced the existing flexible hot and cold water supply lines connected between the water heater and the shut off valves as he didn't like them.

He returned promptly when I called stating that a minor leak continued under the kitchen sink and remedied that; also rechecked the toilet drainage.

Chris is very professional--see all above. He spoke with my husband on the phone while at the house to keep him informed, and was polite, and courteous.
