Very professional, on-time. Other vendors had a 2-3 week wait. They were able to do the work within three days. A little expensive.

I have used them before. They're very prompt, and really nice. There's no doubt they know what they are doing and aren't wasting time. I think I heard, however, they just raised their rates, although they don't charge Angie's List the $45.00 service fee. I like them but I don't think I want to pay almost $80.00 an hour. I'll shop around next time.
Description of Work: My circuit breakers kept blowing. He wired them so I could still use stuff but he'd have to come back with something new. He fixed my breakers and they don't blow any more. I had 2 ''gas'' lamps in front of the house that never worked. He went to get the sockets needed for me, and now they're so pretty. I really wanted an outlet by my vanity, so he installed one.

Lee and Mike were very professional and completed all the jobs promptly and efficiently. I will certainly hire this company in the future if the need arises.
Description of Work: I hired this company to complete various electrical jobs when I moved into an older home. They replaced many light fixtures, installed an attic fan in the upstairs bathroom, installed new door-bells, etc.

The repair person fixed the light okay, but was two hours late in arriving. We had arranged that we would be his first stop several days in advance specifically so we could count on him at a specific time because of my wife's schedule. But after my wife called the company when he didn't show up, the receptionist admitted the error and apologized. They gave us a $20 price break. I later called one of the company owners and he said that they had a lot of emergency calls that morning, and at the very least they should have called us to tell us he'd be late. He was polite and apologized for the error. This is my first experience with this company, and they got great reviews on Angie's list which is why I hired them. I'm willing to try them again one more time, maybe it was just a bad day for them.
Description of Work: Fixed a fluorescent lighting ceiling fixture that I tried to install myself but ran into problems. I had damaged at least one of the ballasts, but the other was somehow damaged also, which I verified. Both ballasts were replaced. Per my request, the repair person also modified my wiring to meet code.

Byron was on time and very polite. He wore cloth "footie's" over his shoes so as not to dirty my carpets. He took his time and explained all of my options to me thoroughly. Since it was going to cost more than we had originally anticipated, he wanted to make sure that I understood what the problems were and what my options were. He also did not talk to me like I was a stupid girl. He paid close attention to details and performed high quality work.
Description of Work: I needed a 110 outlet put into the closet where my new stackable washer and drier were going to go. The old unit only used the 220 outlet. Because of the way the condo was wired, it was much more difficult than we had originally thought that it would be to run the wires over to where we needed them to make this happen. Byron made a few phone calls, and then came up with an idea that worked well and didn't involve putting holes into many walls and the ceiling.

The company has two price structures a $74 per hour flat fee plus materials vs. a book price for a defined job. The book cost to install a ceiling fan where there is an existing fixture is $127. I was initially charged $616 for this job based on the ''book price'' but when I spoke with Chuck Smith he agreed to reimburse me to the per hour cost (which includes travel time to and from, not just the time at the house doing work). I think they did a nice job and will consider hiring them for more complicated electrical jobs, since I think they are very thorough. I would not hire them again for a straight forward job such as a ceiling fan where there is an existing fixture, as the book price seemed excessive.
Description of Work: They installed 3 ceiling fans where there were existing light fixtures (e.g. no additional wiring required). They installed a light fixture where there was existing wiring and switch with dimmer, but no fixture. They had to troubleshoot the wiring before they could install the light. They were in my house a total of 5.5 hours.

Armin arrived on time and was kind enough to advise me that the fixture I had chosen was going to hang quite low and was too large for my small bedroom. I purchased another fixture and Armin returned a few hours later and completed the job. He was extremely helpful and professional. This is my second experience with this company, and I will use them for all of my electrical needs in the future.

I can't say enough great things about the gentlemen from Current Electric. They were prompt, courteous, honest, & fair. The work was done in a timely fashion. The quote they gave us was worst case scenario pricing so there were no unexpected price additions. They did a great job repairing the electric to our garage & bringing the whole thing up to code. We will use Current Electric again. Did I mention they even put the grass back on the trench they dug?! Wow.

Lee and Mike worked for nearly four full days and were very professional at all times. Lee had made a visit to our home in advance and offered to help move an old iron filter and our new washing machine so the placement of our new circuit board was to code. Our home was built in 1936 and many things were in desperate need of replacing. Lee always offered us options, noting what would be least expensive while performing the necessary function. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He and Mike worked quickly and then cleaned up all the areas in which they worked.

Problem was not a big emergency, but the receptionist at Current called a couple of times to arrange for a quicker appointment (first it looked like I would have to wait a week for an appointment, but instead I got service the next day). Armin arrived at 8:30 am, as promised. Source of problem was not obvious and involved exploring crawl space under porch. After a methodical search, the problem was found. An outdoor, covered GFI outlet had shorted and burned out. Armin replaced that one and re-covered another GFI that he thought was no longer protected from the elements. Project took about 2 hours including time for getting parts. Good job.

I am very happy with Current Electric. The serviceman was prompt, professional and very friendly. The work performed was top notch. He took the time to listen to my request. He was also careful to ask questions and make suggestions to ensure that I would truly receive the work needed. He performed the work in a timely manner. In addition to the scheduled work, I asked if he would have time to help me with a few other minor tasks which he gladly did. I would highly recommend Current Electric and will definitely call them again!

Rick took 15 hours over two days. He was neat mounting the lights and cutting ceiling holes. He encountered some problems working with the pendant lights. Apparently there is a trick to shortening the cables for these lights. Rick had made two unsuccessful attempts to cut the metal cable they hang by and the lights didn't work because he had overtightened a nut that pierced the cable. He thought the lights were not working because the low voltage transformers were defective, when in fact they were not. I called the lighting store and their electricians tested and reassembled the cables to the connectors, testing the transformers and everything worked fine. After three attempts to connect the cables to the connector parts, the lights were hanging shorter than planned. I had to reorder these parts at my expense and the job didn't get finished for 10 more days. I was compensated by Current for one hour free labor that was performed when the new parts came.
Description of Work: Installed seven Kichler Xenon under cabinet lights with three separate master switches to operate each section of lights separately (required fishing three wires), two WAC pendant lights with dimmer switch (required cutting two junction boxes and fishing wire for switch), removed and replaced range hood with new stainless steel hood, replaced bathroom fan motor and added three basement outlets. The two small pendant lights were manufactured by WAC Lighting, offices in New York and California, view on the internet at www.waclighting.com. I got these lights from City Lights store in Brookfield. Current felt that these were European made and unusual, but I'm not sure that is the case. I had to have these lights assembled by electricians at City Lights, because two electricians at Current were clearly unfamiliar with these lights. I would be cautious to hire Current to install these particular lights if the cables need height adjustment. You may find yourself ordering new parts.

The electrician from Current Electric was very professional. Although he was an hour late for the scheduled appointment, a representative from Current called to let me know he would be late and why. The electrician spent about a little over an hour performing the inspection. He was very thorough. He pointed out a code violation in the attic and documented what was observed. This was quickly fixed by the original contractor. After the inspection I felt very confident in the electrical work done to my home.
