They were incredible. I only had to pay for the part itself. They didn't charge me an emergency call for the weekend because what had happened was covered by the warranty for the visit they had made in March. I really thought I would have to mortgage my house to pay for the service call and they were very nice. They were very thorough. They were fast. It was an unscheduled call. They were really concerned about me being happy which is why they cancelled out a lot of the charges they could have given me.
Description of Work: I used Current Electric in March and then I had an emergency in May and they came out because my circuit breaker fried.

I purchased a coupon from Angie's List for $99 for 2 hours of electrical work. I called to tell them the services I needed and to schedule the work several weeks in advance. I got the time I wanted, which was first thing in the morning, so I could show them what I wanted and then leave for work while they did the work. Chris showed up about 5 minutes early. I showed him what I wanted done and he understood exactly what I wanted and got right to work. I took just under two hours. My 21 year old son was here to keep an eye on things. After he left, he cleaned up well, turned off lights and it was as though he hadn't been here. Chris was very polite and professional. It wasn't a difficult job, but I was pleased.
Description of Work: Wiring to old in home stereo system and old non-function in home security system was disconnected prior to take down and drywalling over the panels.

John came in and gave an estimate and got to work. My husband talked to him and he was very polite to him. He obviously knew what he was doing because he was quick and knew exactly what to do. He had all the part except spackle which I was happy to provide. John was a wonderful worker and a pleasure to have in the house. I would have him again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: I had an appointment set for Monday and got in with Current on a cancellation. John told me about the Angie coupon which we made use of and saved $100. I do know of cheaper electricians but they we busy so I went with this new company. I'm happy I did. John was polite and did the work immediately. We had a ceiling fan and the box that holds it replaced. He also checked out a blinking light. He worked constantly and was here over two hours. He was extremely neat and even took the old fan and the new fan box with him which other electricians don't always do. I wouldn't hesitate to call the company again and ask for John.

I purchased an Angie's List Deal of $200 of work for $99 so the total out of my pocket was $569. The list price for the job was $670 - $200 from the deal, so the final cost was $470. I thought the price was a little high but the job performed was completed well. The electrician that did the job was Nathan. He was very professional and asked questions about my needs for the outlets. He offered different prices for different installment arrangements and once I picked one that fit my needs and expences he went to work. I showed him where I wanted the outlets and showed him the basement. He then told me where he would put the outlets and then went to his truck to get his tools and get started. He did leave for about 40 minutes to get some parts he needed to complete the job. In about three hours he was done. I had two outlets on the outside of my house that are ontheir own breaker. They were installed in a weather resistant box and sealed to the house. Once the job was done. He cleaned up any mess and asked if I had any more questions. The job ended with me paying the bill and saying our good-bys.
Description of Work: I had two exterior outlets installed on the front of my house with it connected to its own breaker.

Entire experience from my first phone call to the company to the actual work was very positive. Their service technician, Deric, arrived right on time. He worked with me to decide on final placement of the track and 3 pendant lights. When the work was completed everything was cleaned up and we were very satisfied with the job.

Bob, the electrician was ontime, friendly, answered all our questions, and quickly completed the work. We first called on tne dining room work and during the process we discovered just how outdated our electrical system was. It still depended on fuses. We scheduled for that work to be done on 06-25-2012. Bob and his helper were on time and turned off the electricity. They installed the new system and restored power in about 4.5 hours. They then cleaned up and I will admit our house was cleaner after their cleanup than before they did the work. We are well pleased with Bob and Current Electric Co. and will us them for all future electrical needs! Larry & Clara Fairfax

I easily made an appointment by phone. The company is prepared to just give an estimate or to give an estimate and then do the work right then and there. Due to the reasonable price, I opted for the second option. While the electrician worked, I purchased a discount deal online at Angie's List. He adjusted his estimate to include the deal from Angie's List. The electrician was polite and friendly. He discussed what he could do and listened to my preferences. Since I had an electrician in the house, I asked a few questions about some other electrical issues. He provided some options and ballpark figures to resolve those issues. When I'm ready to deal with those issues, I will most likely call this company to do the work.

When our house was worked on April 9 and 10, 2012 we expected what was on our inspection report to be completed, minus the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Imagine our surprise when we came to the realization that it was not. We went to the local Home Depot and purchased a surge protector for our computer. This surge protector also checked the outlet to see if it is grounded. GUESS WHAT. The outlets that we had on our inspection report to be changed and grounded WERE NOT. So we contacted Current Electric on April 30, 2012 to tell them of our discovery. Due to scheduling conflicts we were not able to have Deric Weber to our house until Tuesday, May 8, 2012 to check our outlets. Deric spoke to me and stated ?their tester was not working? which seems to me to define the word ?negligent?. By making that above statement to me he is admitting that he knew that their tester was not working properly and instead of telling me that and scheduling a follow up appointment to come back and re-test their work he let it go. We would NEVER have known that our outlets were not grounded had we not gone and got a surge protector. We trusted that Current Electric had indeed done the work that we had paid for. To further compound our frustration with Current Electric, when Deric Weber returned on May 8, 2012 to repair their work, which included re-wiring, they left an outlet in our living room we feel is unsafe. The outlet itself moves along with the outlet cover. We unplugged the cord that we had plugged in because it is unsafe. We emailed Current Electric about this on May 9th, 2012. Deric did come to our house on Friday, May 11 to again fix another problem we had. Deric said he did not do the work on this specific outlet, but the other technician that was with him on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. (we do not have his name). So again, shoddy work by your technician?s that they just let go. The technician had to know that the outlet was not properly secured and just left it go. We requested 1/2 of our money back as we are going to have another electrician come and make sure that the work they said they did is indeed done. We also asked them to go back and check all their other work they may have done at other homes using these same defective testers. We filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. DATCP sent Current Electric warning letter on June 13, 2012 because the information that Current Electric sent them regarding our complaint DID NOT demonstrate that they are in compliance with the following State of Wisconsin Laws: Wis Admin. Code ATCP 110.02 (11): MADE FALSE, DECEPTIVE, OR MISLEADING REPRESENTATIONS IN ORDER TO INDUCE A PERSON TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT, TO OBTAIN OR KEEP ANY PAYMENT, OR TO DELAY PERFORMANCE UNDER A HOME IMPROVEMENT CONTRACT. Wis Admin Code ATCP 110.05 (1) FAILED TO PROVIDE WRITTEN CONTRACT WHEN SOLICITATION MADE AWAY FROM THE REGULAR PLACE OF BUSINESS. Wis Admin Code ATCP 110.08 CONTRACT COMPLIANCE: A HOME IMPROVEMENT CONTRACT WHICH CONSTITUTES A "CONSUMER APPROVAL TRANSACTION"AS DEFINED IN WIS STAT. 423.201, SHALL COMPLY WITH WIS. STATE ch 423. DATCP stated in this warning letter, as we were never given a "three day cancellation" notice that we still have the right to cancel and that we should be refunded. As of today, June 24, 2012, we still have heard nothing from Current. DATCP is not pursuing any legal action on our matter at this time, but said that Current should consider the letter they received from DATCP as an official warning to take immediate corrective action to fully comply with all Wisconsin Statues pertinent to their operation. If DATCP sees other complaints like ours cropping up, they could potentially take legal action. Beware when using Current. This is our response back to the Provider's of June 27, 2012. In response to your points: We will also be sharing your response with DATCP. 1), Why would we have to pay for you having to come back and repair the work that you did not do the first time, that we originally paid for? Does that make sense? 2) Thanks to us finding your error. 3) Great, now go back to the other customers who houses you may have worked on and check that their work was done correctly. 4) Good. 5) This is false. When we talked with you on the phone YOU offered to come and check the work you staff had already done. Why would we want someone from Current to come check their work. Do you think that we could trust you? We requested 1/2 our money back to have someone check your work. This was not acceptable to you at the time. The first we heard of this offer is when you wrote your letter of answer to the complaint from DATCP. If you would have offered that to us in the first place, we would not be here. We are requesting a refund of our money as per the letter from DATCP.
Description of Work: We had several outlets that were ungrounded, that we had Current ground and replaced some of them with three prong outlets, we had a bathroom ceiling fan installed, rewiring of our kitchen outlets with two new 20 Amp circuits, install 2 GFCI's, two outlets at existing locations, replaced fridge outlet with three prong and ground to box, added one 15 amp circuit for dishwasher. Response from Current Electric Co
Current Electric stands behind our work & takes great pride in our customer service. When we were informed of this situation, we returned and found that 6 existing outlets in the home had reported a false ground. We were not aware of this at the time & would never have intentionally left them ungrounded. Had we found this on our original call, we would have had to inform the customer of the additional work required, which was not included in our original proposal. Our electrician’s tester failed us and this is not acceptable! We understand that this customer is upset from this testing error. We made the following corrections to rectify this issue: 1) We discovered that six outlets in the home had false grounds that our tester showed to be good. We rewired the six existing outlets to correct the issue that originally existed in the home. Thus providing them over $1,200 worth of additional wiring at no cost to them. 2) We contacted our tester supplier and informed them of the testing issue. They provided a recently developed tester as a solution. 3) We held a meeting with our complete service team and provided them with proper training on the recently developed new testing equipment. We discussed possible oversights on other projects and are in the process of reviewing them, finding none to date. 4) Our team is on the advisory broads for apprentice training at both WCTC and MATC and we are contacting them to improve their testing training procedures. 5) We offered to pay for an outside licensed inspection agent of their choice so they can be assured our work is up to snuff. Since then we have upgraded our testers. This is the first time in 29 years of business that our integrity has been questioned & we are greatly distressed by this. They contacted the state with the same letter they used to inform us they were still upset. We will continue to work with this customer to try & resolve our disagreement. Please give us a call to hear our side of the story, or if you want superior electrical service. We do our best to “WOW” our customers and are sorry this situation happened. We certainly are constantly learning!

I put off some electrical work until I saw the $99 for $200 of electrical work offer from Current Electric. I called Current and had a 7:30am appointment. The electrician called me at 7am to confirm the appointment. He looked at a circuit breaker servicing the attic fan which had previously been tripped. At this point, it was now working. He determined there was a problem with the motor and disconnected power to it since it was no longer operational. He provided me with an estimate for solar powered attic fans. He also installed an electrical outlet on the outside of the house. There was no need to run power to the area where the box was installed since there already was existing power. He finished the job at 9:30am.
Description of Work: Installed an outside outlet and checked the attic fan which had tripped the circuit breaker.

They arrived on time and then did not know what I wanted done. However, once I told him, he then tried to up sell me on another surge protector. I did not mind knowing the difference, just didn't like the "sales" pitch. I then requested a quote to replace an outdoor light and a switch and the quote was over $200. I did pass on the additional work and just went with the surge protector that I purchsed. He installed it in a timely manner and was done within 30 minutes.

The electrician that arrived was Jim, and he was right on time. Jim listened to the problem and asked very thorough questions. Jim quickly got to business and explained the the potential cost of the job. There were no surprises. Jim quickly went about diagnosing and troubleshooting a difficult electrical problem. Jim solved the problem and made our home safe and fully functioning. He was very courteous, respectful and professional. I would highly recommend Jim and Current Electric Co. for any electrical needs.

I made a down payment about a week before they came to do the work. They did not charge me for a service call. They service would have been a 2-day job, but they were ultra-considerate. They sent 2 very qualified electricians so that it would be completed sooner. They worked from mid morning til about 3 and then cleaned up everything when they were done. The fixtures that they installed were all very modern and update and safe. The smoke alarm that they installed was top protection because it was guaranteed to be safe for 10 years. They worked quickly, but didn't break a thing. None of the plaster was cracked or damaged. I will always use this company again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: They did a lot of work for me including: GFCI updgrade outlet in bathroom, installed bathroom fan that vent trhough the ceiling and roof, installed battery operated smoke alarm in bedroom hallway and basement (near furnace), GFCI protection for all garage outlets, and 2 outlet boxes upgraded to GFCI and replacement of pull chain in basement, replacement in laundry room of ceiling fixture.
