Sorry, that's too much work

My wife and I had trouble visualizing the final layout and look of the basement, and Shawn really helped ease our concerns by working through our wants and budget to give us the best finished product possible. The project ran very smoothly and right on schedule. We were very eager to have everything ready by mid-February, which I thought would be difficult even before starting the project. I was amazed at how fast and efficient the Crestone team worked. Everyone from Crestone was very prompt and professional. They worked around our schedules and even worked later in the evening and over the weekend to help complete the project within the timeframe we wanted. I was very appreciative with their willingness to do this. The finished product is excellent. I was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship, and the end result is even better than I anticipated. After the project was over and the temperature increased. The rise in humidty in the basement caused swelling of the newly installed doors to the point that some were sticking terribly or not closing at all. This really had nothing to do with the workmanship of Crestone, but it was a problem that required attention. I contacted Shawn, and he sent his team over to work/trim the doors as needed to make sure they were working properly and that I was happy. Crestone exceeded our expectations with price, their work and their service. I highly reccommend using Crestone, and we will certainly be working with them again.

I was not sure what I was doing with the project and changed some things as we went along. This group was in and out of my kitchen in record time - all subcontractors such as the granite installers, carpenter, plumber, and electrician were beautifully orchestrated to give me my kitchen back in in just a couple of days. Cleanup was stellar, all the subs were neat and respectful. I have had Crestone back to do a couple of other small jobs such as installing a venting skylight in my walk=in attic. I will definitely use them for my next project.

-- Quality workmanship at a fair price -- Those were our priorities when we set out to hire a contractor to renovate our family bathroom. Those goals were met and the process was about as painless as a major renovation can be. Shawn Brown and his team were super to work with -- reliable, hard working, flexible, clean, considerate of our schedule and needs. Our new bathroom is incredible! The job went beuatifully from start to finish. Shawn (owner) is super-responsive, starting with the bidding process and continuing through the entire project. He was always available to talk about any issue or concern. Shawn is creative and knowledgable and we came up with a great plan for the new space. His crew was outstanding- talented, courteous, tidy, prompt, and really nice guys. My family enjoyed having them around for the several months it took to do the project. Pricing was competitive, and Shawn was very respectful of our budget. There are no hidden costs, and at all points in the project, Shawn lets you know exaclty where you are on the total bill. The bathroom looks fantastic - Cresone did a wonderful job, and I have referred them to several friends already. I am looking forward to working with them again, hopefully.

Shawn provided excellent communication in quoting the job, as well as regular updates regarding changes. Builders began on schedule and were punctual every day. Schedule was communicated in advance, as well as who would be arriving and what they would be working on. Excellent attention to detail and workmanship. They listened well, were flexible and professional, and more than willing to "go with the flow" when we changed our minds on something. (This particular job had a lot of mind changes!). The areas around the jobsite were protected, and they cleaned up the jobsite each day, even sweeping and vacuuming parts of the house that were not being remodeled, due to residual dust. Shawn is a consummate professional, who has trusting working relationships with his employees and subcontractors (who were excellent as well). We couldn't be more pleased with the "showcase" that is now our master suite. We are happy to recommend Crestone Construction, and will most definately call them for future projects.

We obtained bids from 2 companies and went with Crestone because we had very good feedback from neighbors who had previously used the company, the company had received good reports from Angie's List, and after meeting with Shawn it was immediately clear that he would be someone we would enjoy working with. The service provided by this company was impeccable from the very beginning and the outcome was fabulous! They were meticulous, timely, and worked extremely hard to meet our changing needs as the job progressed. We live in an old Northshore house that as with all older construction provided interesting problems which were solved with creative solutions from the Crestone crew. Shawn provided fabulous ideas on design and provided valuable insight, but was not in any way pushy or overbearing and was more than happy to incorporate our own ideas and changes as we went along. The quality of Crestone's craftsmanship was excellent and the team always left our house clean and organized. There is absolutely nothing I can think of that was even remotely negative in the whole project. I definitely expect to be using Crestone again and heartily recommend them to anyone looking for a quality company that offers their services at very fair prices.

We are extremely glad we chose Crestone Construction, and we would happily work with them again. Almost from the moment we met the owner, we knew we wanted to work with Shawn Brown. He is a man with very high standards but was also very flexible and innovative. He wanted to help us achieve our vision and helped us with thoughtful and creative innovations to save money and improve the project. While the three other bidders said we couldn't achieve certain things on our budget, Shawn saw possibilities they didn't and was willing to explore them on his time and find new solutions. We completely gutted two bathrooms and laundry room and reconfigured them so that we would have a large, beautiful bathroom off our master bedroom, a lovely guest bathroom, and a very functional laundry room. Their carpentry and electrical work was first rate and their tiling was exceptionally good. Their crew was courteous, very clean and very dependable. Shawn was only a call or an email away from a quick response throughout the project, which lasted a couple of months. Shawn went out of his way several times to do things like explore more alternatives, to make calls for us to suppliers, and to send us ideas on improvements he thought we could take advantage of. Throughout the process, we felt like we really had an advocate in Shawn, and after some other contractors we've worked with, this was a real pleasure. We are "do-it-yourselfers" to some degree, and one way Shawn allowed us to cut costs was to let us do some of the demolition work and the tiling in the second bathroom. He and his crew gave us expert advice that enabled us to do this, and the result is something we are proud of. The tiling in the main bathroom was far too technical for us to do because it involved raising the level of the subfloor to create a slope for the walk-in shower and install subfloor heating. They crafted a beautiful travertine-tiled floor and walls and made sure we were involved in all the key decisions along the way. As with any large project on an older home, we met a few small challenges but when we had to make changes, we always seemed to find a better solution than the original plan.

Shawn and his team are receptive to ideas, details, the overall project goal. Fair prices with great subcontractors....we're looking forward to another project.

Recently we noticed a small amount of dryrot. We called Shawn. He was quick to come to the house and review the issue. We agreed it was difficult to tell if it was due to the installation 2 years ago or another issues but, Shawn corrected the problem and completed extra work to make sure the problem did not happen again. All without charging us. His guys are very courteous and thoughtful about nap time and clean up as we have small children. Shawn and his crew are real professionals committed to past and current customers.

Shawn and his crew were personable and professional from start to finish. They communicated well with us on the scope of the project, pricing and timing. There were no surprises! It is a pleasure to spend time in the newly rebuilt sunroom and on the newly rebuilt porch. Thanks, Shawn.

It went VERY well. Due to the scope of the project, it took around 9 months, where we were practically living with Shawn and team. They came when they said they would and they were courteous and friendly to my family -- my 7 year old still is excited to see the different guys around the neighborhood. They completed the work on time and within the stated budget...the only overages were due to our own decisions to broaden the scope. There was one time where something had broken, and it wasn't clear if it was our fault or theirs, and they replaced it on their dime..no questions asked. It was this kind of customer service and professionalism that made what could have been a painful experience, relatively painless. Today, people come over and still marvel at what a beautiful home we have, and we owe a large part of it to Shawn and Crestone Construction.
