I did floor and room door installation and all wall prep and painting. All they did was cabinets and countertop. 4 yrs. in, lapses in workmanship are becoming apparent: poorly draining sink, loosening cabinet doors. This job is not going to last. $8K for a 12x12 kitchen.

We signed a contract on Nov 3, 2015 and we still don?t have any cabinets and nothing has been measured. We are currently in the process of trying to sever our relationship.

Everything was custom made. When we started the remodel, the dishwasher faces east and the cabinets face north. We wanted them to move the counter and cabinet down an inch because the dishwasher door would bang in the cabinets. They said oh yea we would do that and they did not do that. I called them and it is still the way it is. They said the kitchen sink had to be in front of the window and they could not move anything down. The one thing I will give them though is we have a wall between the pantry and a small countertop and a fridge. Everyone else was going to knock down that wall and extend the counter. They are the only ones that came in and said I do not think you can do that, that is where all your water lines are and heat and electricity. They were right, when they dug out the pantry they bore a little hole and they were right, that saved us a small fortune. I would say make sure they do what they say they are going to do and the work is completed as they said they will. Get it in writing and be very diligent in watching them.
Description of Work: I used creatpive wood to remodel the whole kitchen.

Creative Wood Products is the worst company in terms of customer service and design I have ever dealt with. The owner failed to show for her initial appointment due to her father's death. I understood and let them reschedule. She failed to show again, then called me numerous times to reschedule. I finally relented The person who showed up was a newly hired designer who seemed nice and professional and had some good ideas so I ended up choosing them over another company I had interviewed. My husband and I met with the designer at their shop, went over all the details of what we wanted to harmonize the project with our existing woodwork, etc. Our home is a 90 year old bungalow.Everything in the shop looked nice. The owner then came to our home with the designer to measure for the cabinets. She did all the measuring herself. We were given install dates for the cabinets and following day counter top measure. I scheduled my electrician, plumber , floor guy etc around these dates. On the scheduled dates- nothing happened. I called, they told me that my cabinets hadnt even been made yet and where did I get those dates from? The designer told me later that I had indeed been scheduled those for dates, the owner has whited out my name, never bothering to tell anyone, call me or reschedule. They rescheduled my cabinets for the next week , counter measure the day after which required that I reschedule the other workmen and that my husband had to take off work. They then changed the these dates, then changed them back again. The cabinets were finally installed but the sink cabinet had been measured so large by the owner that access to the pantry was difficult. The installers broke a newly installed outlet which required me bringing back my electrician to fix it. Handles on the china cabinet were attached crookedly and one of the island drawers was warped. The cabinets themselves were nice- and well matched. I called about these issues numerous times. Calls were often not returned,or excuses made- employees have quit , etc. My husband and I finally went in on a Saturday morning to meet with the owner and resolve the issues. She promised to remove the cabinet on Monday and have the other more minor issues fixed. She arrived Monday, and started to remove the sink cabinet without discussing first how to alter it it to fit. She was in such a rush that broke part of the cabinet and scratched a drawer while taking it out to their truck. She did not take any measurements. She promised that the cabinet would be cut down to a better size and returned by Wed. Wed came and went. When I called Thursday she was quite rude and said they hadnt had time to look at it and might have it done by the following Wed.Wed came and went with no sign from them. I called on Thursday and was told nothing had been done yet. They finally put in the cut down cabinet 10 days later which required my husband taking off more time from work to be there. They then removed the warped island drawer saying it had to had to be replaced. The countertops and drawer replacement and drawer replacement took a very long time. I finally ended up calling the granite fabricator myself to work with him on getting the tops installed. ( see my review of AbsoluteTops). At that point Creative WOOD had gotten paid totally for the cabinets and we have paid about 50% for the granite. Creative Wood has informed us that they are holding up the installation of the granite until we have PAID IN FULL. This does not seem right- most work is paid on completion. We are very reluctant to pay more for countertops which we hadnt even seen. Especially to a company which had made so many mistakes and been so inconsiderate every step of the way. As the new sink cabinet was about 20 inches shorter than the old one I expected a reduction for the lesser amount of granite that we needed. Creative Wood didnt furnish any info on this until I refused to pay anything more. They then sent an email saying that I could pay about 200. less but no info on pricing per sq foot etc. They did not respond when I requested more detailed info, invoice etc on how they determined the cost. I have had other granite counters done and this is standard- showing price per sq foot and amount used. In the end I consulted the fabricator to determine what the reduction should be and paid the total minus that reduction after the tops were put in. This reduction was quite a bit more than the 200 they had offered with no explanation. The fabricator installed the tops and did a lovely job with them. It is now August on a simple project which was to be completed by the middle of June. The end result looks nice- the cabinets are well matched and the counters look super. However the sink cabinet was poorly designed- the shelf under the sinks was measured at a height that causes it to bump against the plumbing pipes. Its like the designer forgot to consider that sinks have plumbing underneath. The end result renders the space under the sink pretty much useless. The designer had insisted on putting a drawer at the bottom of the cabinet- about 1.5 inches deep which again is pretty useless - and makes the shelf impossible to fit in the cabinet- more ignorant design mistakes. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone- you can get work of better quality elsewhere for about the same price without the endless hassles and aggravation.

I made an appointment to have someone come out to my home to measure and prepare drawings to give me a quote/estimate on custom cabinetry and countertops for a kitchen remodel I was planning. The person who came to my home was an hour and a half late and brought a friend with her, which I thought was very unprofessional. A few weeks later, I was asked to come into their showroom/factory to see my drawings, receive a quote and to see samples of their work and a tour of their workshop. Their work looked wonderful, it was very nice to see that their cabinets were made right here in town and not brought in from overseas. But upon my arrival for my scheduled appointment, I was met by a very distracted person who wasn't ready for me, left me to wander around on my own for about 15 minutes before seeing me and taking me on the tour. After this, I was to meet with the owner to go over my drawings and receive an estimate for whatever style and wood I picked out. After waiting another 10 minutes for the owner to be ready for me, I found out she hadn't listened to a word I had said about what I wanted in my kitchen, so the drawings didn't reflect anything I had requested, nor did her plans include the type of counters I had wanted. After another 15 minute wait, she scribbled onto my drawing what I want, gave me a quote and told me this was just to make the cabinets and deliver, I'd have to find someone to install them myself. Needless to say, I'll be finding somewhere else to take my remodel project.
Description of Work: Received a quote for custom kitchen cabinetry and counter replacement.

I don't think I would do a kitchen remodel again, buy a house with the kitchen done to your liking. Creative Wood Products sub contracts the install and the installers were horrible took them 4 days to install the products, originally quoted as a .5 day job. The cabinets look nice, Creative Wood measured wrong and had to replace/ fix a drawer and shave another drawer so it cleared the wood work. Also, was short five knobs/handles for the cabinet and had to wait for them to come in. Creative Wood took 24 hours to correct their problem, which was acceptable.
Description of Work: They removed two old cabinets in the kitchen, built an entire new set of cabinets (10 new cabinets) and paid for installation.
