Originally the patio was supposed to be all wood but due to our desire to have the area as close to our yard border we needed it to be pavers. She had her plumber install a gas line and we have an outdoor gas fire pit. She added a larger wood porch area to get into the house. She has fantastic ides and followed through with everything as promised and in a timely manner. The quality of the work was excellent and so was her follow up. She had previously done work for us with a complete remodel of our kitchen, bathroom and made a laundry room in 2012.

Description of Work: Remodel of kitchen and bathroom. The only thing she did correctly was cover up the z-brick on my kitchen walls. The veneer she applied to counter sides is peeling off, floors are cracked, she did not finish painting or varnishing doors in bathroom or 6 panel doors throughout the house, did not finish installing baseboards in bathroom, did not paint baseboards in bathroom. She always had to take care of something at her lake home-it was much more important than my home. The 31 day job turned in 5 months, and still wasn't finished. I still need to hire someone to complete the work, but can't afford it right now. I sent Contact 6 after her, but she wouldn't cooperate with them. Be very careful of her-she is bright & enthusiastic, but unfocused and unprofessional. Learn from my very expensive mistake!

Kristin is an energetic, personable and persuasive woman. She does not, however, deliver on her promises. When we contracted with Kristin she assured us that she would be doing the work with her carpenter Joe and that she would be there with us "every step of the way." As it turned out, Kristin did very little of the work and Joe was no longer working with her. Just before the work was to begin, Kristin introduced us to Doug. Kristin had not worked with Doug before and overestimated his skills and experience. We are not satisfied with the work that either Kristin or Doug did. The work done by the subcontractors which includes the granite countertop installation, the plumbing and the recessed lighting was done well. As a matter of fact the plumber came out on a Sunday to fix leaking toilets that were installed improperly by Doug. This was especially difficult because the leaking water went into the basement and destroyed some personal mementos. The only work that Kristin did was design the master bath shower, make frames for new mirrors and help install the kitchen tile floor when it had to be replaced because the job was done so poorly by Doug. The mirrors that Kristin had put in the frames had to be replaced by a professional glass company because the mirrors intalled in the frames by Kristin contained many flaws and scratches. When we all agreed that the kitchen floor had to be redone, Kristin agreed to do the job herself or be here to assist Doug and oversee the job from start to finish. She was here for very little of the job and the second floor tiling job turned out poorly as well; uneven grout lines, high edges on some of the tiles and when some tiles had to be replaced because they were set so poorly we had to purchase more tile which turned out to be a different color. We now have a few tiles that don't match very well. Even Kristin was so disappointed in the finished product that she offered to redo it a third time or give us a price break of 25%. Because of the inconvenience, dirt and disruption, we decided to take the price break and live with the floor as it is. The master bath shower continues to be a problem and Kristin doesn't seem to know what to do about it. We believe it is a drainage issue because certain areas of the floor and grout do not dry. Some of the grout is turning black and Kristin continues to want to try different mold and mildew cleaners which have no impact on the grout color. We have tried one cleaner from the manufacturer with Kristin present, and there was no change. She is now suggesting we try another cleaner but as with the rest of the job, she doesn't seem to have the time to follow-up with us. We have lost confidence and hope that this issue will be resolved by Kristin. We are writing this review in hopes that others considering Creative Home Designs by Kristin will take our experience into consideration when discussing the specifics of their project with Kristin. Primary issues with job and working with Kristin: 1. Kristin was not on site to do the work or supervise the work as promised. 2. Insufficient communication between Doug and Kristin regarding the specifics of the job. Doug was often unclear about what he should be doing and how it was to be done. 3. Our job always and continues to be a VERY low priority to Kristin. When we expected her to be here or when we asked her to be here Doug made excuses for why she couldn't make it. 4. Kristin and Doug both took copious notes about what needed to be done but neither seemed to share those with each other and we frequently had to revisit what still needed to be done and how it was to be done. We agreed on a simple tile pattern for the master bath floor which was suggested by Doug and then he installed 20% of the floor with out the pattern. If we hadn't have walked in to ask how things were going we would not have caught the problem in time to correct it. Overall, our experience working with Kristin was disappointing. We hope the problem with the shower gets resolved but we are doubtful that the resolution will come from Kristin.
Description of Work: Replaced kitchen countertops, sink and faucets, floor and added recessed lighting. Replaced vanity tops, sinks, faucets, toilets, mirrors and flooring in two bathrooms. Removed tub and installed tiled walk-in shower in master bath.

Krisitn met with us and assessed our space and we told her what we wanted. Originally we thought we would have to put an addition on to expand the kitchen, but she came up with the idea of basically rearranging the space we had and removing a room which we never used to give us a dream kitchen. She came up with a beautiful design, guiding us as needed and transformed our outdated tiny kitchen into a modern functional space. She and her team of professionals worked very efficiently. The plumber, electrician, HVAC, and carpenters and Kristin were fantastic. I would highly recommend them for any changes you wish to make to your home!
Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel, expanding the kitchen into the old dining room which required moving of walls. Also had the half bath remodeled and the laundry room moved from the basement into the old mud room. New interior doors and moulding also put in.
