CONCRETE BY WILL

all went well until he had an dental emergency. the project was then rushed ( did 2 pours instead of 3 pours as contracted ) and because it was late in the season the sealing portion did not set correctly. we have been trying to get him to return and re surface for 4 months with no luck.

I liked that he was willing to negotiate with me and willing to get the materials and get the job done.

In order to replace the concrete on the porch, it was necessary to dig out layers of original concrete. The porch is supported by 4 major wrought iron beams. Three other concrete companies didn't want to do the work because they felt the support beams might move, causing a shifting of the porch itself and the roof of my home. Will felt this wasn't a big deal. It was. Shortly after the concrete work was completed, I noticed my roof line had totally shifted. The entire porch area had sunk to the point it was visible to anyone passing by. Before and after pictures clearly indicated the porch was no longer being supported as it once was. This isn't something that can be left unfixed, as it has damaged the structural integrity of the home and is causing extreme water damage in my basement. Both Will's and my insurance company got involved. Engineers hired by my insurance company were able to prove without a doubt that Will's work was negligent. Will's company has totally denied paying any of the claim. My only recourse would be to file a major lawsuit (this isn't a small claims case). The insurance company has bullied me into letting me know they will fight the claim in court. Bottom line--I paid $4,000 for concrete work and will now have to come up with about $15,000 to repair my home to its state before the concrete work.
