Complete Painting & Carpentry

We've been defrauded. It started out on normal terms. Mr Richardson provided a painting quote, eagerly took our deposit and scheduled start date. We'd worked with him appx 10 years ago so no reason not to trust him as an ethical businessman. Showed up alone without equipment/truck/crew on scheduled start date. Took 2nd installment saying he and his crew would be "right back after picking up supplies". Waited all day. Waited the next day. No contact. Ghosted us for 3 more days. Panicked! Did some searching and found troubling info and recent reviews. Finally he responded to texts. Said there was a loss in his family, apologized and we agreed to reschedule. Then he texts asking for MORE money for supplies. We declined, but gave him 2 more chances to show up and do the job. Failed to show. No way we trust him with our project at this point, so called off the job and asked for our size-able deposit to be returned in full. Didn't happen. And probably never will. So....the bear has been poked. Complaints in progress with state consumer and licensing agencies. This review will be shared everywhere. Alderman notified. Neighbors warned. Police report in progress. Preparing for legal and criminal action.

I had Complete Painty repair and paint our 3rd floor attic window window, which was damaged by weather and squirrels. I texted Jim a photo and he and Chris were out that day to start the repair. The damage was significantly worse than what could be seen from the yard, and his price was very reasonable. In fact, I am so happy with his work that I paid him extra. I definitely will be having him out to do more projects on our house. Chris took great pride in his work, and was always very nice and professional. I truly think this is the best interaction and work that we’ve had done on our house, and we’ve had several work on our 100 year old home over our 20+ years living here.

I highly recommend going with Complete Painting and will certainly hire them again in the future. I worked directly with the owner Jim Richardson who came out to my house for a free estimate. I was impressed from the start with Mr. Richardson's expertise and professionalism. He completed a difficult kitchen remodel in my home and not only did my final bill stay on budget, but his team completed the job on time. My family and I love our new kitchen. His recommendations for the redesign and the cabinet stain color resulted in our kitchen looking much better than we expected. The functionality to final appearance was top notch. Thank you again Mr. Richardson and I look forward to seeing you and your crew again this summer when we tackle the exterior challenges we want to complete.

I would highly recommend Complete Painting and Carpentry. The owner came out and gave me a free estimate and I had extensive water damage. The damage was much worse than expected and the owner worked with me to keep my final bill from killing my pocketbook. Even with the extra damage found, his crew completed my house to the day stated in my contract. I am so thankful I chose Complete Painting and Carpentry for this job with so many dishonest contractors out there, I was treated with respect and my house looks beautiful. James Richardson was very professional and hard-working. I’ve had work done by Complete Painting for over 5 years. He has always gone above and beyond my expectations. I left a VM for James and he setup a time with me a few days out. He was 10 minutes late to the meeting but he called at the time that were supposed to meet at to let me know that he was running behind. We met 11/4/17 to review the job. He said he'd get a quote to me in the next couple days.I texted him 11/9 because I didn't receive a quote. He responded that he would have it to me in 30 minutes. He ran into email problems so he texted me later saying it would be later that day. I never received it. I texted him 11/13 and he said he didn't forget, and said the work would probably be around $3000 and asked if I was interested. I told him yes. He said that he would send it that night. No response. I texted him on 11/16 saying "Still waiting" and he never responded. I find it very irritating that he wasted 30 minutes of my time and never even sent the quote.

Unprofessional, unreliable and sloppy. I would not consider these people professionals. Carpentry was amateur work and the painting was terrible. Missed spots and paint where it wasn't supposed to be painted. Removed two aluminum storm windows without removing all of the screws and painted one side of an aluminum storm that should not have any paint at all.
