I felt good about that because we weren't sure what we needed. Since they weren't going to do the work, I felt like they gave a true analysis of what we needed. He gave us a report about everything he found in our basement and he is someone that we can call back if we have any questions.

We thought they were thorough and professional. Some of their suggestions were common sense (keep gutters clean; make sure downspouts are draining far enough away, etc) We did regrade the yard and add extensions to the downspouts on the corner where we had a few issues. And, now that our landscaping is more mature that has helped too. All in all, they give you small ways to start and then you can go for more detailed solutions if those don't work.

We followed the recommendations and the problem was resolved.

He specializes in just consulting. He did a good job of the engineering consulting I had him do. I used him to give me an estimate on what it was actually going to cost to repair something instead of trusting somebody who would have just come and done the walls. I would rather get somebody that knows if anything needs to be repaired, and if so, what actually needs to be repaired. It was a good investment because I did not need any other company to come and do the job after the consultation. He seems honest. I would recommend him to others and would use him again in the future if necessary.

The inspection was not completed due to an error as well as scheduling difficulties on my part.

Arrived and inspected foundation. Gave information on type of foundation problems present and whether they needed to be fixed or not. Offered to act on our behalf if any problems with foundation repair work. Insinuated who did a good job of repair although could not give direct recommendations.

Wanted to "finish" basement and had concerns about some basement wall deterioration. Wanted basement in good condition before proceeding. Called Charles Weber Consulting and made appt. Richard arrived for appt and was courteous and thorough. Inspection report written at time of appt.

I had some seeping in my basement and have several basement waterproofing companies come out and try to convince me that I needed to have the entire interior drain tile replaced and have steel reinforcement beams placed on two of the basement walls. I had Charles Weber come out and give me an unbiased inspection, and he felt that I needed only one wall reinforced, he discussed all of the things I needed to do on the exterior of the house to reduce the water problem (none of the guys from the basement foundation companies even looked outside), and he recommended a drain tile test on the interior of the house. I had them do it and they proved that the interior drain tile was fine, essentially saving me about $5-7000 in the cost of unnecessary replacement of my drain tile, which would not have affected my water seepage problem at all. They also provided excellent documentation of the status of the foundation that I can use when we sell the house.

Chuck came out to give me a consultation on my basement issues (after receiving 4 different diagnosis from 4 different contractors) and he determined within minutes that I probably resolved my problem by fixing my gutter. He told me a few more tips and how to determine if my walls are moving. He is obviously a man of high integrity.

They were very professional and on time. Richard came to our home. He wrote out a big summary of what needed to be done. He said don't let somebody talk you into something else.

He did a great job. He came out right away after i called and was very polite. He was very thorough and professional. He was done in about two hours and i would use him again if need be.

Richard came out to perform the inspection. I called to request the companies service yesterday and Richard promptly came out as promised to day. He was great. He explained everything very well. He gave me tips on what type of work I may need to have done. He was very professional. I am very satisfied with his service. I cannot say enough good things about this company!

He was there for several hours. I did everything he said and the problem is fixed.

I suspected I had serious basement problems (cracks, not leaking) and removed all the paneling in the rec room. After doing that, I hired Chuck Weber to do a foundation inspection report, so that I would have an idea what to expect, as I solicited bids. Mr. Weber told me that for most people doing a basement repaid is like going to the dentist for a filling. He said my basement was a root canal. I was looking at around $13,000 to excavate, back fill and reinforce two walls with steel beams. A new front stoop was needed, as mine was off its footings. All of this was very valuable information. Although he is impartial, he gave me a list of contractors and was willing to indicate which ones would be 'okay' for me to ask. I came up with a list of three names that he thought would be okay, and other contractors, about whom he seemed more lukewarm. ("They're okay, if they don't do more than they need to.") I wound up going with them, whom I had worked with once before and trusted.

He was outstanding. He walked around the foundation, did a thorough report and measured every inch of the basement. He understood the real estate market and knew what was important. He is well respected by the contractors I chose to do the work and the building inspector.

I was impressed that he referred me to another company, even though he could have earned my money. This is refreshing in today's world.

I was extremely pleased with the inspection performed by Richard Borchlewicz of Charles Weber Consulting. I felt that was money well spent to obtain an objective, professional option PRIOR to having a basement contractor give his opinion. The consultant has no vested interest; while the contractor obviously does. Richard was very thorough and was able to explain the issues in a very understandable straight-forward manner. He pointed out a number of maintenance and grading issues that I need to address. If they are successful; I will save thousands of dollars that cold have been spent for unnecessary work. If the grading and maintenance do not solve the problem; at least I will know that excavating is the next necessary step. I recommend Charles Weber Consulting without reservation.

Charles returned our call quickly and came around to give an estimate. His associate, Richard, came and said that he would be at our home at 8am and on the stroke of 8 he was there. He was extremely professional and trusting. He promptly assessed the situation and provided a clear synopsis of the work that needed to be done. He left our basement in great condition and made himself available for questions after the work was done. I would certainly recommend Charles Weber Consulting to others.

Overall the inspector did very well. He not only pointed out the problems, but also provided estimates that gave me a better idea on how much it will cost to correct those problems. He also explained to me my options. The inspector was not pushy nor did he try to sell additional services. He did his job and made recommendations and provided additional information with regards to the drainage system being used in the basement. In a nutshell, he provided me with enough information to make a better decision on the purchase of the house.

I asked Richard Borchlewicz of Charles Weber Consulting to inspect the basement of an older house I was interested in buying that was reported to have some water seepage in the basement. He is a basement specialist who "diagnoses" basement problems and provides recommendations regarding treatment without actually performing the work itself. One, therefore, gets an objective assessment of the work that needs to be done without having to worry about whether unnecessary work is being recommended to jack up the cost of a job. He is not affiliated with any of the contractors and declines to make recommendations so as to preserve his objectivity. I was impressed by his knowledge, experience, and professionalism. Before spending thousands on a basement job, I would recommend an independent and professional basement inspection such as that provided by the Charles Weber company.

I liked working with a company that did not do repairs, so that I was assured that they were not creating problems that weren't really there. Richard, the inspector, was experienced and most knowledgeable. After seeing what my interior drain tiles looked like (crumbling and almost totally clogged) I knew that I needed to do a major repair. I used the Association list, Angie's List, and the BBB to make my choice of companies to interview for the job. I really did not know where to begin in resolving my wet basement problem and without the expertise of Charles Weber Consulting I would have remained overwhelmed. Membership in the Association gave me assurance of a level of reliability.

I can't imagine anyone hiring a contractor to do any foundation repairs or basement waterproofing without hiring Chuck first. We contacted Chuck on a Saturday afternoon, and he arrived on-time that afternoon. He's professional courteous and extremely knowledgeable on foundation and water issues. Chuck does not recommend any specific contractors so his opinion is completely unbiased and unswayed by friends in the business. He is a member of WAFRP. I believe Chuck saved me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. He has my unqualified recommendation for anyone experiencing basement water-related issues. A must for real estate sellers or buyers.

Chuck showed up on time, was thorough, efficient and gave me the information I needed to make an accurate offer to purchase a rehab home with substantial foundation damage. Normally he charges $225, however he charged me nothing for his services, but instead referred me to a structural engineer that gave me a Foundation Inspection Report that included a repair cost estimate and technical specs for the contractor to follow when making the needed repairs. I would definitely use his services again. At $225 he is cheap insurance against a contractor padding a foundation repair estimate.
