I am extremely happy with Burkhardt Heating. I called this morning to make an appointment and they were able to send someone this afternoon. Amazing! Technician Curt arrived and completed the service in a timely manner. He explained what he did and made suggestions to improve my furnace's operation. I will most definitely call them again for all kinds of heating and air conditioning service.

When trying to light the pilot light on the first cold day this fall I had problems with the ignitor, and when I finally got it to light the heat was inconsistent. Upon inspection a number of problems were noted. I could spend the $300 to fix these problem, but, decided a newer furnace (this one is 25 years old) would be better money spent. They're installing a new higher efficiency Bryant in two days. Fast service, the price was actually reasonable and now I don't need to worry about problems in the coldest part of winter because it comes with a 20 year parts and labor warranty.

This experience was awesome! Kurt, the service tech, went above and beyond a routine service call. He took the time to explain various functions of the furnace and thermostat that previous maintenance companies never did. Kurt gave advice on cooling our home more efficiently by using the "Fan" feature during the summer months, fixed several minor problems that should have been taken care of when another company installed the furnace, and was extremely knowledgable. He was never condescending and no question was regarded as wasting his time. In over forty years of home-ownership, I have only encountered one other service professional as well-informed and thorough as Kurt was. This company will continue to receive my business, and I will highly recommend it to friends and relatives.

Purchased the Angies "Big Deal" for this and it was WELL worth the money. Technician was super friendly, arrived on time, and did a fantastic job. I informed him that I was a new homeowner, so he asked if I'd like to watch what he was doing. He did a great job of explaining the parts of my furnace, showed what he was doing WHY he was doing it, and gave me a great lesson on my furnace. Not only did I get a great tune up, but I got some knowledge of my home as well. Will DEFINITELY use them for any issues that may (hopefully not) arise, and will be calling them again in the spring to give the air conditioning a once over. A++

They called the day before the scheduled date of service and she said they would call when they were on their way which he did.He arrived on time and was very pleasant, neat looking and went to work right away. He preformed the tune up, cleaning and safety check as promised in the Big Deal

It went very smoothly. Technician showed up promptly and performed a series of analyses and cleaned up unit.

Shortly after I purchased the service, I called the company to schedule an appointment. I scheduled an appointment for a few days later, though they could have sent someone out that very day. The worker called me a half hour before he arrived to let me know when he would be there. He performed the checkup and maintenance and alerted me to a part that was wearing out. He showed me the part and explained how he knew it was wearing out. I had him replace it, though it cost quite a bit. He left the old part with me--I got the impression it was just in case I wanted to check out his diagnosis with someone else. I asked about replacing the hose that removes water from the air conditioning, and he did that at no extra cost because I had purchased the new part. My overall impression was that the company gives great customer service and was not afraid to have me check out the diagnosis with someone else if I wanted to. Though I can't know for sure, that gave me the impression that the company is honest in it's recommendations.

First of all, I have always called our heating system a furnace. I knew that it had a different way of heating our house, with radiators. We actually have a boiler. The ad specified "furnace". Oops. The company overlooked my mistake and performed the service offered in the ad. I was impressed with the technician's attitude and willingness to teach me how to do simple maintenance by myself. He walked me through our set-up on each floor, showing me everything I could ever want to know about our furnace/boiler. I could not have asked for a better home service experience.

Burhardt Heating honored my coupon from Angies List even though it had expired. Nice-I had kind of forgotten about it. The office gave me a call the day before to tell me what time the technician would be here and the next morning, the technician called to tell me he would be right on time and he was! Jerry was very friendly and gave me several helpful hints about the operation of my furnace.

HORRIBLE!! I am in the service business but do not do HVAC, so I used the Angie's List $69.95 tune up special. The tech found a ignitor that is old and should be replaced, I agree these things go bad; I asked how much, he said $280 WOW! I quickly checked online and found the part had a list price of $128, but everyone is selling them for $28-$49 with free shipping. I asked why they charge $280 for a $28 part and I was told installation, I had to argue if the tune up required removing the old ignitor for inspection than installing another should be a wash? Clearly the tech was professional and just going from pricing provided by management. Sorry for the poor review, I took enough HVAC in school to know the fundamentals

He was overcharging me. I was being charged with parts and labor. I was already paying for the service call. I think that is absolutely ridiculous. I talked with the owner. I just questioned him and he got very defensive. He did not like that I was questioning him about this. She wanted to know what she was getting her money for. He was rude and arrogant. He wouldn't even talk to me. I felt that I had a right to ask him all those questions. He said he took offense that he was accused of ripping me off. I would never deal with him again. I was charged an additional fee for cleanup that I paid for with my water.

The job was well done. The service provided by Burkhardt Heating and Air Conditioning was good value for the money.

We initially thought it was all fine and good, until a year later when the air conditioner did not cool. According to the follow-up service call the next year (also from Burkhardt, but a smarter guy), during this particular call the technician actually removed coolant from the unit because he apparently was in a hurry and did not take the full 20 minutes to properly run the cooling test. This casued us to have another call the next year after suffering a weekend of hot humid weather without any A/C.

The serviceman from Burkhardt did a complete check of the heating and cooling parts of our unit. The air conditioner was not cooling because the cooling unit in the basement was frozen into a block of solid ice. The technician said that according to the records the fellah from Burkhardt who serviced the unit the year before had run a test incorrectly and removed coolant. He told us that there should never be reason to remove coolant from a unit that at the time was only 3 years old. The technician also mentioned that he has seen this before from one of their employees. The technician who was out here to fix the problem (caused by a fellow employee last year) was honest and very knowledgable. The other technicians at Burkhardt, maybe not so much. I did say that I would call them again, but to be honest I really don't know and if I did I'd have to put into question the fellahs competency. I just don't know what to think. But the real question is if any other company would be different?

I thought the owner was very personable. He came out and walked through with what they would be able to do and what was and was not included in the deal. I even talked to him about some additional equipment and services he was able to provide. The clean up that was done by the crew was not as clean as some of the other Angie's List contractor's I have used in the past.

furnace & AprilAire humidifier were inspected as part of the service contract; air conditioner will be serviced when weather is warm enough to run the compressor safely. Technician arrived on time, identified one small item which could be maintained as a courtesy to buyers, which I arranged. Nice to have a company that attaches the service contract to the building, not just to the individual who bought it!

They are very thorough, responsive and professional. They projected things to budget for without telling me I needed it done immediately.

I think it was 40% off and it was $300 with the 40% off. It is usually over $500 to install these. I have a mother who lives with me and has allergies and the lack of humidity in the house was bringing out the worst of her allergies and respiratory problems. This 40% off deal was great. The technician was Rick. It was a very difficult installation and he had to get in a very tight space to install it. He was patient when I know it was not an easy installation for them.

Excellent Company!!!! EVERYTHING was absolutely perfect! From the price of the Big Deal on Angie's List, the owner coming out to estimate & explain what would be done, the time needed for the completed job, etc. Very professional, 2 very nice men did the job, along w/an electrician, who was needed for a bit. They completed the job faster than owner had estimated on a very warm & humid day too. Can't thank you enough :)

I called Burkhardt Heating & Air on Thursday, March 22nd to inquire about the Angie's List deal that I had received an email on. They were able to schedule Doug to come out to my house the following Monday for a quote. While talking with Doug and going over my options, I decided to go ahead and purchase a new furnace and air conditioner as my existing ones were 27 years old. Since I have been a customer of Burkhardt's for the 9 years I've owned my home, Doug was able to give me a very reasonable deal on the entire package which included not only the furnace and air conditioner, but also a new programmable thermostat and whole house humidifier. I decided then and there to take the offer. I called the office to schedule the installation and they were able to do it that week on Thursday, March 29th. The installation crew (which included Kurt, who has been my regular furnace technician for 8 years) arrived promptly at 8:00 am and competed the entire installation, initial start up check, training on the new thermostat, and clean up in only 6 hours. They did an amazing job and answered all of my questions. I will continue to use Burkhardt for all of my heating and air needs - they are amazing!
