Burkhardt was very professional and on time. Everything went real well. We had two furnace switches replaced last year by another provider who put one of the wires or hoses on backwards but Burkhardt noticed this and made the adjustment that was needed. I will use them again especially after the incidenance with the wires or hoses. I would recommend them The cost was reasonable for what we needed. in

Dennis did a great job, provided a wealth of information in addition to performing all of the needed service. He really took his time and explained things as he went along.

Thorough and professional - walked me through all the inner workings of the furnace, gave tons of information and advice on both maintenance and system improvements. Helped set our mind at ease a bit in our new (to us) house with a decidedly NOT new heating system and gave us realistic advice and timelines for maintaining and upgrading our heating/cooling systems. The tech was very knowledgably and quickly corrected the previous improper installations.

They sent an email to me to call and schedule an appointment. I called and made an appointment and they scheduled it within a 3 hour window. They called me the day before for a reminder. I called them the day of my appointment and asked if they could call me 1/2 hour before they would get to my house, which they did so I could just meet them there from work. He was very professional and showed me the issues I had and told me how to try and avoid these issues. I am definitely going to call them back in spring for my air conditioner inspection.

Our old air conditioning unit stopped working. We called Burkhardt to inspect and ended up purchasing a new unit from them. They gave us options on brands and came out to install within 48 hours. Our property started experiencing electrical issues soon afterwards, and although the issue ended up having nothing to do with Burkhardt or the A/C installation (it was actually an outdoor WE Energies issue), they came back out to make sure everything was OK. They were prompt and professional throughout the entire process. We even received a follow up call a couple weeks later. They are now our provider of choice for our properties.

They basically came to assess the AC for issues, found that the filters were too thick for the unit. Not much more than that.

Very efficient. Dennis Paul obviously is well experienced in this profession. In the past we have had more than a few horror stories of "repairmen" that were completely unfamiliar with this type of equipment. Dennis diagonised the problem promptly. He was very professional and efficient in his service techniques. I will certainly call this company again.

I have never had such EXCELLENT customer service from any company!!! My furnace was not working when I turned it on this morning. I had another company come out and diagnose the problem. They told me that the part , a motor, may be under warranty and to call a Carrier dealer (which they weren't). I called Burkhardt (a Carrier dealer) and was told that they would check out the serial number and model number to see if the warranty still applied. Within 10 minutes I received a call back telling me that I still had 7 days left on my warranty (otherwise the part would have cost $1800 with installation). The lady I spoke with said she could have a service tech to the house within an hour so I wouldn't have any problem with the warranty...10 minutes later I received a call from the tech letting me know he was on his way. About an hour and a half has passed since I first contacted Burkhardt... and the tech (Curt) just left and the part has been installed. The service is BEYOND amazing!!!!

he was on time, went right at it, he explained some problems I had which he fixed easily. It was well worth the spend for peace of mind going into the winter. He also pointed out I needed a new filter which I held off on for awhile. I alsol received a few phone calls which is nice reminding me and letting me know when he would be at my house.

I called to schedule an appointment. The person who answered was cheerful, customer service focused and was able to schedule in a timely manner. Kurt was scheduled to come out. He came in the time frame scheduled. He did a wonderful job taking time to thoroughly look at and tune up both units. I was impressed by his attitude and professionalism. The furnace took a little time due to some on-going updates in the whole house where dust seems to be everywhere. I asked questions and he answered without hesitation. There were no surprises. The tune up of the furnace was exceptional. The a-c unit outside he also spent time on. I had to make him aware of some issues of sloping towards my house with two a-c unit pads (the first concrete) then another pad that sunk over the last 3 years. Literally every time it rained the bottom of my a-c unit was under 3 to 5 inches of muddy water. Although it was maintained yearly in late April, I had to wait this year until the new patio was installed and pitched away from the building. He washed it out thoroughly and the mud that had been sitting in the unit/motor was quite visible on the new patio. I will be replacing as soon as I am able - with his well documented service report and issues found. I knew this was going to be the outcome but really hoped it would not be. So no surprises there. When it is the right time I will call them to provide recommendations on a new unit, costs, etc. My experience from the initial call to final services was exceptional. Doug and the crew were all very professional and did a great job. I will continue to use Burkhardt for maintaining my new furnace and air con.

The initial appointment had to be rescheduled because the weather was unseasonably too cool to properly test the AC function. I appreciated that they were attentive to that and preferred to do the job the right way. The technician was punctual, polite, and proficient. There were no issues and freon levels were fine in both systems. The tech did identify dirty filters and recommended they be changed but was not pushy or adamant about selling me something that I could do myself. I had to agree - the filters were dirty even though I do change mine regularly and the neighbor changes his. I guess we live in dusty neighborhood (highway, rail track, foundry, park, ball diamonds, etc.). I hired them through an Angie's List Deal and was charged no additional fee for their service call. My systems were fine so my out of pocket was limited to the price of the Angie's Deal. I would use Burkhardt again. I know the owner on a personal basis and can attest that he is a good and honest man.

Routine and fine. They installed our unit and we've had them for occasional regular check-ups. If you need new filters installed, you'll save money by doing it yourself (their technician will tell you what you need to buy, if you're not sure). Their filters cost more than at Menard's or wherever.

The furnace was dirty and needed cleaning. The a/c unit had a blown capacitor, so wasn't working. He identified and fixed the problem. In both cases, the repairman welcomed my observing his work and he explained what he was doing and why as he went.

Although I normally use a different provider ( Capital Heating & Cooling- I highly recommend!), I decided to try Burkhardt based on their positive reviews on Angie's List. First, the facts: We have 2 furnaces, one for the lower level and one for the upper level. Each furnace is independently controlled by it's own thermostat. However, we only have 1 AC unit. When we purchased the home, we were told that we had dual zone climate control. and I assumed there was some sort of damper system to allow 2 separate thermostats to control 1 AC unit. The AC on the lower level was not getting as cool as it should, so I thought there could be some issue with the system. The Burkhardt technician came out, and diagnosed that in fact while we have dual zone HEAT, we do not have dual zone AC, and in fact the lower thermostat only controls the fan, while the upper thermostat controls the actual AC. I believe this to be true and accurate, and a satisfactory service response. In order to come to this conclusion, the technician did inspect the AC unit, both furnaces, and both thermostats, including removing the thermostats and checking wiring, full functionality, etc. I will also add that we have Nest thermostats. Now, here is where I disagree with Burkhardt: The technician, in his words, is "not a fan" of Nest, and made repeated comments about his dislike for the products. I did not find his commentary to be professional, and in my opinion, this is more a result of aversion to new technology and lack of understanding and experience with modern thermostats. (The technician has been working in the business for 40+ years) I was not home when the technician first arrived, but my wife mentioned after he left that he hardly even acknowledged her when she answered the door, and she found him to be "rather rude" in the way he behaved with her. I did not find him to be "rude" inasmuch as he simply had a more gruff, matter-of-fact personality. Though our Nest thermostat downstairs appeared to function correctly at the time the technician finished the job, the first time I tried to adjust the settings, a few hours after the technician left, the touchscreen was no longer responsive. After a lengthy discussion with Nest customer care, and troubleshooting, it was determined that I would need to replace the thermostat, which happened to no longer be under warranty. I cannot assert with certainty that the Burkhardt technician broke the Nest, but the evidence strongly suggests this. I will also note that the thermostat functioned perfectly for nearly 1 year prior to the Burkhardt service call. I called Burkhardt to convey the problem, requesting they at least refund the $79.99 service charge, since we will now have to replace the NEST, which retails for far more than the service charge. It took 2 calls to Burkhardt, and finally, 4 days later, the owner Doug, called me back. After hearing "my side" of the story, this is the very first thing Doug said: "Whenever a customer mentions my technician was rude, I know they are just trying to get money." He then went on to "guarantee" the technician who came to my house was not rude. He also went on to "guarantee" his technician did not break our NEST thermostat. (Doug certainly does not have enough evidence to "guarantee" anything, nor is he in any position to make any such objective statements of fact) He went on to suggest NEST is delivering poor service by not replacing the product, and that in his opinion, the thermostat should still be covered by warranty. He also stated that I broke the NEST because I was "using it improperly", and "guaranteed" that had I used a contractor to both obtain the NEST (they were given to us as wedding gifts) and install it, I would not be having any issues. Doug was incredibly rude and condescending. This is my opinion of course, but without directly saying "you are lying," he accused me (and my wife) of trying to scam him into replacing our NEST, which is blatantly false. I never once asked him to replace our thermostat; I simply asked for a refund of the service charge, which will only cover about 1/3 of the price of a new NEST. If I did not know better, I would not think Doug to be a business owner, as he behaved in a very immature and unprofessional fashion, and essentially tried to blame anyone and everyone not affiliated with Burkhardt. I will admit that I also behaved immaturely on the phone, as it became clear Doug was accusing me of lying and trying to scam him. I should not have become frustrated either, but I am not representing myself as a business owner. The bottom line: I do think the technician and the owner are knowledgeable, but they are tech averse, and if you have a modern thermostat, NEST or otherwise, I'd avoid at all costs. Plus, the customer service, or complete lack thereof, leaves much to be desired. Instead, I strongly endorse Capital Heating and Cooling, with whom I have had several very positive experiences.

They were right on-time and provided additional ideas to cool our house more efficiently.

It went super well. The technician allowed me to follow him around and walked me through things to the point where I would feel comfortable troubleshooting the furnace, should something ever go wrong. He helped me figure out which vents to close in order to ensure the proper airflow for A/C to reach upper levels of house, and provided explanations along the way. We will definitely use them again.

This is a very, very honest and knowledgeable company to work with and Terry who came to my duplex is the best. Both of the furnaces are older and I am trying to keep them in top running order for as long as I can so I appreciated all of Terry?s expertise in cleaning the flame sensors, igniters, etc. It took him over an hour to service each unit. But the best part of what Terry did was to disconnect and old humidifier that wasn?t in use and leaking water. A much cheaper solution than trying to fix something that was too old to fix. I really appreciated Terry?s honesty. Great provider!

They came out to do a per-season service/cleaning. Went well. The service tech was one time, gave us good detail and notes on the service and the status of our aging furnace. I was happy enough with their service that I called again when the furnace was just blowing cold air in Feb. The will be on the top of the list when we have to replace our 20+ year old furnace.
