This is the second time he's done work for me, and he's incredible. This was quite a large area he did this time. He's the nicest man, he has a good crew and they are very professional. He adds the nicest little touches to his work. He was not able to get his equipment into the crevice area, so he came back the next day to do the crevice area. They had to take down a gate and a fence to get the equipment in, and when he came back to do the saw cutting, he made sure everything was in place. He paid special attention to the way they water ran off so that I would not have any damage to my garage foundation. He's extremely professional and knowledgeable. I wasn't sure if I could afford to get the whole job done, so I was just going to have half the patio done, and he was kind enough to give me estimates for both the half job and the whole job, and he did not charge me for adding in a few extra squares.

It was great working with Bruce. First of all, he was one of the few that would pour that late in the season and someone who seemed like that actually wanted to do the job! Most of the companies I was having quote this job had minimums and would "fudge" the numbers to make sure it fit in that minimum. He consulted with me as to what my options were and didn't just give me one option. He made me feel comfortable with him and his practices. Bruce came out several times before the job (in Shorewood) and finalized the plans and contract. In fact, he made a mistake on the contract (put down 5 foot apron instead of 6 foot apron as we agreed) and he called me to notify me of the oversight. This speaks volumes about his honesty!! The job was completed to my satisfaction within ONE day! Lastly, they cleaned up very well afterward and have had no problems since. In fact, I just had the garage put up and the person that did that, said the slab was "wonderfully done". Thanks again Bruce!

He was very good. He came when he said he would and completed when he said he would. Completed the work all in one day.

We accepted the above bid and mailed a signed contract. Left 2 phone messages on company phone to verify that the contract was received. Never received a return phone call. Contractor never showed to do the work.

He called me back right away and set up an appointment, which he was on time for. He explained exactly how the work would be done, was very courteous, and sent me a typed estimate in the mail within a few days. I haven't had the work done yet because I'm working out issues with my village regarding a survey, but when I'm ready, I will have Dahlgren do the job.

Called for an estimate on a concrete sidewalk & bricks laid up to the house. Bruce called me back the next day and left a detailed message, saying that the brickwork we wanted sounded like a job for a landscaper. He even left the names and numbers of two local landscapers! I called him back to explain we wanted paved bricks but he said he only works in concrete. He was very helpful, very straightforward and we really appreciated it, even though we couldn't use his services.

I had about half dozen contractors quote this small job, but Bruce's professionalism set his business apart from the others. Very clear and prompt with his proposal document. After the contract was signed he followed up to keep me up to date on his scheduling. The evening before he planned to excavate, we confirmed the layout together with marking paint. When he and his crew arrived promptly the next day it was evident that they were wasting no time. It was literally a one day job. I also noted how his vehicles were newer and professional looking. I have already given his name to associates and friends looking for a good concrete contractor.

Bruce is responsive, friendly, and fairly priced. He did a very neat job and cleaned up well afterward. His crew were polite and he gave good instructions. He also did the job when he said he would and was always reachable.

I called to schedule a time for a quote. Bruce returned the call within about an hour. He explained that he could quote on the job, but it was unlikely he could get to it before the end of this season. I highly respect that, as I have worked with many other contractors that quote and then won't tell you until weeks later that they can't get to the job. He also gave me some good tips on searching for someone that might be able to schedule this before the snow flies. I have other big projects for next year, and will call again.

Bruce and his crew exceeded all expectations. He was prompt and professional, flexible, and extremely easy to work with for all of us involved--for myself, my neighbors who had property adjoining mine, and the carpenter who will be constructing the new garage. A fair amount of hand-holding goes along with a major job like this, I guess.) His manner was reassuring and patient. He accomplished the job in a timely manner, and always arrived promptly. His crew, too, was respectful and responsive. I really had a great experience with this company, which is especially welcome because I had to make these decisions alone, without my husband to guide me. I am ever grateful to Bruce and his crew for providing me such a successful first experience with contracted major work.

Bruce was very willing to set an appointment for an estimate around our schedules. He came out on a Saturday morning. He pointed out the pros and cons of doing just 1/2 the driveway, but it was our decision, and he never made me feel like he thought we made the wrong decision. The work was done over a two day period. They were very careful to not to take out more than 4'' of lawn around the edges and didn't damage any of our plantings. We had decorative brick that had to be removed. They piled the brick neatly off to the side. On the third day, Bruce himself came to put the lines in the concrete. I would highly recommend Bruce Dahlgren Construction.

Was a pleasure working with Bruce from the time he did the bid in April to the day he was here for the job in June. He was on site for the job and does his jobs in the order received. Since we're getting landscaping done as well, his work had to be done first before starting anything else. He kept me informed leading up to the day he was going to do our job, by calling the week ahead and letting me know it would be the following week (weather permitting). We changed out patio layout the night before he was to be here, but he was very accommodating. We would definitely recommend him to others.

He returned my call later that day and said he was doing a job in the area and would stop by the next day to give me a quote. He never came to give the quote or called.

BRUCE WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY. HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND GOT THE JOB DONE WHEN PROMISED.

The Bruce Dahlgren Construction Company was wonderful to work with. They gave an estimate a year earlier than we had the work done. In spite of higher fuel prices (that would affect their profit), they stayed within their estimate. The workmanship was excellent--done in two days! The pitch of the driveway is wonderful, surface excellent. They cleaned up thoroughly after their work. We were very pleased.

The work was done very well. The sidewalk had to be widened around the house and leveled and angled in some places to stop the pooling of water in my back yard. I have recommended this company to others.

Returned first call promptly, arrived on time for both the estimate and two work days. They did not go over estimated time or money budget. Owner was on site for the entire project.

OVERALL REWARDING EXPERIENCE. THE ESTIMATE WAS DETAILED AND THE EXPLANATION OF WORK TO BE DONE THOROUGH. I WAS KEPT INFORMED OF A SLIGHT DELAY CAUSED BY THE WEATHER. THE WORK WAS PROFESSIONAL IN EVERY RESPECT. I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR MORE.

VERY POSITIVE. BRUCE IS VERY DEFINITELY A CONCRETE PROFESSIONAL, HE SEEMED TO KNOW EVERYTHING NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. HE IS LIKEABLE & EASY TO TALK TO; HE CONSISTENTLY RETURNS PHONECALLS WITHIN A DAY. THE PROJECT HAD A SURPRISE PROBLEM IN THAT THE OLD DRIVEWAY HAD NO GRADE. BRUCE DIDN'T KNOW THAT UNTIL THE MORNING HE CAME TO RIP IT OUT AND, AFTER TAKING MEASUREMENTS, FOUND OUT THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE OUT MORE OF THE OLD DRIVEWAY THAN ORIGINALLY PLANNED TO PUT THE PROPER GRADE ON THE NEW ONE. HE STOPPED THE JOB RIGHT THERE UNTIL WE TALKED FACE TO FACE ABOUT IT A DAY LATER, TOLD ME HIS PLAN FOR GRADING THE NEW ONE, AND I APPROVED THE PLAN AND PRICE. THE NEW DRIVEWAY LOOKS VERY NICE (POSITIVE COMMENTS FROM THE NEIGHBORS TOO) WITH A GOOD GRADE THAT WAS EXACTLY AS HE DESCRIBED AND NICE LOOKING CORNERS. HE WAS BACK LOGGED 35 JOBS WHEN I HIRED HIM IN EARLY JULY, HE POURED THE NEW ONE IN MID-SEPT. SO, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE. BUT IT'S WORTH IT. HE USED MEYER CONCRETE.

BRUCE AND HIS CREW WERE EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL, NEAT, AND PERFORMED ALL WORK ON TIME AS PROMISED. HE CALLED IN ADVANCE AND REVIEWED ALL WORK TO BE PERFORMED. BRUCE WORKED ALONG WITH HIS CREW EVERY DAY THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT. THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS OUTSTANDING. WE HAVE RECEIVED MANY COMPLIMENTS FROM OTHER HOMEOWNERS ON BRUCE'S WORK. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRUCE AND HIS COMPANY TO ANY HOMEOWNER.

ALTHOUGH I DID NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY TO REDO MY DRIVEWAY, I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE PROMPT ESTIMATE. IN ADDITION, BRUCE WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

BRUCE CAME WHEN HE STATED, DID THE WORK WELL FOR THE PRICE HE QUOTED. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH HIM AND WOULD HIRE HIM AGAIN.

A VERY DIFFICULT JOB. TWO OTHER CONTRACTORS WOULD NOT TAKE ON. TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN TO MY NEIGHBOR AS WELL AS ME HIS APPROACH TO THE JOB. EXCELLENT WORK. ON TIME AND ON BUDGET. I'M HAPPY AND MY NEIGHBOR IS HAPPY! NOT THE CHEAPEST BUT WORTH EVERY DIME.

DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, BUT HAD DIFFICULTY ARRANGING TIME FOR BUILDING INSPECTOR AND PLUMBING INSPECTOR TO APPROVE WORK. I HAD A SOMEWHAT DIFFICULT GETTING HOLD OF HIM INITIALLY. HIS PRICE WAS LESS TAHN I EXPECTED.
