Good communication and scheduling by Kathy prior to the appointment; Elliot was polite, explained the procedure, and cleaned up when he was finished.

They did an excellent job. They were very business-like and you could tell that they care about their customers.

We had Blau come in to clear a kitchen drain and we were left with a destroyed trap under the sink, which the plumber was unable to repair at that time for some reason. He did say he could come back, though (and it would cost us an additional $500). My husband asked him to start with the 4" drain first (which was where the problem ultimately was) but he insisted on doing the trap first, which is where the leak is now. The kitchen sink was rendered useless. The plumber in question kept attributing the problem to "vibration." I asked, "caused by the snaking you just did?" He said, "probably" and also because of "deterioration of the pipe." There was absolutely NO leak before he started. If he saw that it was starting to leak, or felt that it might start to leak based on his work causing such "vibration" (the power snake) and he wouldn't be able to fix it today, then he should have stopped working and informed us of that before proceeding. This new leak is no small leak -- it will fill a bucket extremely fast. It is like not even having a drain there--the water goes right through! The work resulted in pipe damage (on a weekend yet) and now we'll have to spend more money to fix it.

We needed help and they came right out.

We have used them for 20 years and we have never had to redo one thing they have done. They might be a little more expensive but they are great. We used another plumber a couple of time and we had problems and when we called them to come back out and fix it they wouldn't and we have had to call BLAU to come out and fix it for us. I won't use anyone else. They are expensive but it is worth the money because it is a one time deal because the do it right the first time.

Blau installed a high efficiency boiler for us in 2008. Dec of 2011 we began to have problems with intermittent malfunction.A service tech came on Dec 21 to check it. He was unable to find a problem, the heat was on that day. He charged us 115.00.On Dec 23 our heat was out again. We called and the same tech returned. He told us an external sensor was bad and would require replacement. He did not have the part on the truck. He consulted Blau by phone, then told us that the malfunctioning part was the gas valve, not the sensor. He replaced the gas valve, charged us 720.00.. Dec 26 the heat was out again.We called Blau on the 27th, wanted to speak to a manager or owner.This was refused.Blau sent a different tech out on the 27th,. He thought the problem was a different sensor in the damper. To test it he dismantled the aquastat . After consulting with Blau he was told to replace the aquastat. This did not make the boiler work so he disconnected the sensor in the damper. The heat then worked but the boiler was now not functioning. as intended.The tech called us the next day. He said that we could leave the boiler as is- functioning but not at full efficiency as intended- and that there would be " no extra charge". To have the problem properly fixed by replacing the damper sensor as he initially wanted to would cost us another 700.00. So we have been charged 850.00. three service calls and the problem was never addressed. We will have to hire a reputable company to fix the real problem -the damper sensor. We had a another plumber give a quote for 450.00 His assessment was that intermittent problems are caused by the damper sensor- and that a qualified tech would recognize this- not replace a string of parts until something worked. We decided at this point to file a complaint with the BBB requesting refund of 720.00 Blau finally called us at this point(Jan 16).He does not feel that we should have money refunded even though over 3 service calls and 850.00 the problem was not fixed. My husband has been a customer of Blau's for over 25 years. We felt they were expensive but did good work. We would never use them again- our opinion now is that they care nothing for customer satisfaction and will charge whatever they can get away with. The facts stand for themselves- we have paid a substantial amount of money, had incompetent service techs and no attempt to discuss this problem until a complaint was filed.

Our Son recognized that our 7 year old water heater had started to leak. That following Saturday called multiple (at least 4) Plumbing contractors in and around Waukesha to schedule installation of new water heater. Spoke with two businesses that day and only one said they could install new unit the same day. Discussed water heater options and pricing with owner of Blau Company and he gave us a firm verbal proposal over phone. The Blau Plumber arrived within one hour and within 2.5 hrs had removed our old unit, installed new water heater, verifed proper, showed my Wife & I some maintenance tips and hauled away the old water heater. The quote for new water heater and installation also included cost of plumbing permit. (we called to schedule appointment for City Plumbing Inspector and he gave job a thumbs up) The overall cost of this project, even with a 5 year extended tank corrosion warranty was less than competing quote for a std water heater.

I got their name from Angie's List and I was less than happy about them. The woman I spoke to was very nice and told me that they would be happy to schedule a day that they could come out if I wanted a free estimate but they couldn't guarantee a time, which was fine. She said that I would have to pay $20 if I wanted a guaranteed time, which I thought was weird, but fine. So, I committed to being at the house for a four-hour period, and then a gentleman, who was a plumber, called me that morning and said that he had a bunch of questions for me about the house and he just wanted to go over everything. I explained what I needed done and what kind of work, and then he told me that in his experience, it would cost me between $20000 and $30000, and asked whether I was ready to commit to that right then on paper. I asked him whether he didn't even want to look at it and he said no, and I was not ready to commit to that. I just felt that was really unprofessional and pushy. So, they never even came out. They had really good reviews online and I was looking to get some more quotes, and I just thought that it was very unprofessional. They did call me on that same day. I would never consider them again.

The experience was okay. Their responsiveness was good. They came out right away. They were very professional, too. I would consider them for a future quote.

Brad the plumber was on time, checked out the job, gave an estimate, checked out if I had a good check, moved equipment into the basement and completed the work.

My sink was leaking water when when I used the dishwasher and the problem continued

They did an okay work. They did neither bad nor exceptionally well.

Our furnace passed inspection with no problems. The people involved were very professional and courteous. Timing was a bit of an issue. Our appointment was scheduled for the morning; however, it was around 1:30pm before the service technician actually arrived. I did appreciate that an operator from Blau called twice to keep me informed that they were having difficulties that day in that their morning jobs that were scheduled before ours had taken a lot longer than the technicians had estimated. She too was very courteous and apologetic and kept me well informed about the situation and a possible time when a technician may be available. Things happen and I appreciate that I was informed of what was going on and not kept in the dark. It made staying at home and waiting for someone to show up much more tolerable.

We called Blau on a Saturday morning for a clogged toilet, the only one in the house. They arrived later than they said they would. By the time they came, I left to use my friend's facilities and left my mom in charge of it. Not sure exactly what happened while I was gone, but they told my mother we needed a new toilet - to the tune of $700. I rushed home and stopped them before it was too late and just had them unclog the toilet which was what we asked for in the first place. He stated the toilet had calcification, which could very likely be; however, just unclog the darn thing! It works fine after they unclogged it. If I'm going to get a new toilet, there is no way I would pay a plumber $700 to put it in. I felt as though my mom hadn't been given other options other than getting a new toilet.

It all went wonderfully....and that toilet has never had another problem, even since I have finally have started using angieslist almost daily!

The Blau team is very experienced and professional. I would not hesitate to use them again.

They were very polite and clean. They came on time and talked me through exactly what they were gong to do. I was happy with their work. I would use them again.

They do a good job, but sometimes I am not sure about the price I am being charged. They have came out twice to do work on this sink and they always do a good job.

Terrible experience, terrible service. Plumber showed up stared in the drain for a long time, called his office, talked on the phone then sat in his truck. Was not sure exactly what to do or what the problem really was. Asked him numerous times to just clean the sewer, wasn't sure if that was the problem so called his office again. Talked on the phone and sat in his truck and smoked. I called the office and asked the customer service rep to please call him and ask him to just clean the sewer. I went out to his truck and asked him to please just complete the service requested. The experience was so extremely frustrating (almost 3 hours) that at that point i didn't care if the problem was going to be resolved or not, I wanted the service call to to be over, The sewer was finally cleaned, which did not resolve the problem, but the my frustration with the tech was so high that I paid him and called another plumber the next day, who resolved the problem within 1 hours.

Overall it couldn't have been better unless it was free. I highly highly recommend you call Blau Plumbing.

Everything went very smooth. They arrived ahead of time (they called first) on the day of the installation. A few things were not up to code, one of which they did not realize until they started the work. This was all done without any extra charge. Everything was cleaned up when they left.

The experience with them has been positive. They came out and told us that the furnace was old and we had to replace it. They came out and did the work. They cleaned up the mess. They removed the old furnace out. They gave us a quote that was reasonable as far as the price of the furnace goes. They did a very professional job and they were out of here.

I hired Blau to come out and unclog our water drain. While they were doing the work on the drain, they broke the something in the sewer. I called another company to someone out and fix the sewer and they told me that the original job would've only cost me one hundred dollars. They are ridiculously expensive. They were very punctual and professional. I would not use them again.

I was not offered a price but instead was showed a pitch book with a variety of inflated prices. It was designed to get me to make a choice of a price, from their list, and in their favor. It was power negotiating in a situation in which I needed to clear out the drain, and couldn't wait. The "Tech" said that the recession was not a factor, but I believe otherwise, because I know that the construction trades are hurting. He wanted to charge me $400, but settled for $300, saying he just couldn't go any lower (the boss would be mad, i suppose.) I believe this is an abusive practice. All consumers need to be prepared for merchants and other professionals who are losing money in another part of their business, and want to get that money back any way they can. I have had similar problems with the banking industry. Blau has never done this before, and I am very angry. I have asked them for a partial refund ($50). I will share my email to them if you would like (it is too long for this text box). It is noteworthy that they refused to accept verbal complaints about pricing. They required an email instead. It is interesting that they have this procedure in place. It may indicate that they are getting many such complaints. I think that Angies List can be a big help in educating consumers about some of these abusive practices before they happen.
