He also let me know what he was doing and why. They also gave me 5% off because I was a return customer. This company does great work and can be trusted.

Fair price for Liftmaster opener and labor. I'm very satisfied with the outcome and newer technology (eg. keyless entry). Would definitely use their services again.

+ -1 moreI placed a call which was immediately answered by the son of this father-son service business. We arranged a time window for the same afternoon. He was on time and soon diagnosed the problem. I asked how old the current opener was and he was able to ascertain it was 14 years old. (I bought this house in August and suspected it was an older unit but it was working up until today.) I decided to have the entire unit replaced for a very reasonable price of $345. It took about 2 hours. Jim (the son) is very friendly and outgoing, which I enjoyed but if you are more reserved , just be prepared for his fun personality.

He could have fixed it, but I opted for a new one (the old one was super noisy.) Very happy with how quick it went. This is a very nice family run company. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

I called Advance on Sunday night to leave a message and was told by the out of office message that they open at 8:00 AM and would get back to me then. I received the call within minutes of 8:00 and was told that they could be out that day and would give me a two hour window, which they did very quickly. The Technician arrived on time and called me on his way there. The work was completed very quickly and the Technician showed me what was done. He added a bracket so that I do not have the issue again. Great work at a great price.

The technician was really friendly and explained we didn't need a new opener, but instead cleaned and maintained our door and opener. It is working great. He was honest and explained that our opener is old, but may work for some time. They were easy to schedule and Mary was very friendly and accommodating. When my door opener is ready for replacement in the future, I'm calling Advanced Overhead Door. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and fairly priced. They also scheduled us for next day service and were able to work with my busy schedule.

+ -1 moreThey did come out and fix the door and replaced the motor. They came out later and they refused to take responsibility for the fact that they had come out and fixed the door that way. They did come out and fix it, but they claimed someone had done an awful job, and denied that it was them.

Description of Work: The garage door was stuck in the down position (thankfully with the car on the outside!) with what I self-diagnosed as a broken spring. When I called Advance, I made an appointment for 2 days later. I was told I would be called in the morning with a 2 hour window time-frame. I received that call in the morning and Jim arrived within the designated time. I was given an estimate before the work was started. The work was done efficiently and for what I believe was a fair price. This is a family-owned business that believes in customer service and doing a good job. I hope I don't need to call them often but would definitely call Advance again if I am in need of garage door repair services.

+ -1 moreWe are satisfied with the work of Advance Overhead Door. This is a dependable company to work with. They are easy to contact and Mary and the guys are friendly and courteous.
Description of Work: In December of 2010 we needed our garage door opener replaced and called on Advance Overhead Door to do the job. We had a new Chamberlain opener installed. The service at that time was just the best. Advance Overhead Door is a family owned business who are dependable and professional. Last week (11-1-11) the garage door opener wouldn't close all the way so we called Mary from Advance Overhead and set up an appointment to have it looked at. When Jeff and Jim came out, they gave the door and the opener a "once over" ~ Also adjusted and lubricated some parts and they knew just what we needed. A new computer board was ordered that only took two days to receive. When I called early this morning, Mary sent Jeff and Jim out within a half hour to replace the board. This father and son team work together to make things right for their customers. They re-programed all the remote openers for us and made sure everything was in working order. Parts and labor were still under warranty and Advance Overhead took care of the installation promptly and efficiently. We would hire this company again and recommend them.

I asked that they call me in advance so that I could leave work and meet them at the house. All went perfectly. Jim called to let me know he was on his way. He was very friendly and pleasant. He replaced both springs and lubricated all moving parts in a fairly short amount of time. He was very helpful. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

I have had their company for service prior to joining Angie's List (new garage door opener) but wanted to submit this report let people know that they are personable, honest and really know what that are doing. I would not think twice on who to call for any repairs on my garage door.

+ -1 moreCalled Advance Overhead Door on 4/4/2011 at 3pm and talked to Mary about my broken garage door spring . She was friendly and upbeat . She put me on the next days schedule for 8:30 am. Jeff and Jim arrived as scheduled and replaced both springs on my garage door . Both of these men were also friendly and upbeat . They completed the job in short order and had everything back working in less then an hour. We had a good chat and a couple of laughs and they were on to their next call.

+ -1 moreThe Advance crew arrived at the scheduled time. They dismantled the old door and took it away. They installed the new door, reviewed it's operation with us and cleaned everything up. They were professional, efficient and courteous. We will continue to use this company for all service needs in the future.
Description of Work: We have used Advance Overhead Doors for several years to service our old wood garage door. They have always been prompt and professional. This year the door was just worn out and Advance came over and gave us a very competitive bid for a new door. Our door is not a standard size so it had to be ordered. When we placed the order Mary took the time to call the door company so we could schedule the installation date immediately. On the day of installation Advance called first thing in the morning to give us the approximate time the crew would arrive. They were there promptly at the scheduled time.

For both appointments I dealt with the receptionist who helped set up the appointments and who would contact me to confirm the techs were coming. My conversations with her were helpful and professional. I believe that the first tech could not fix my problem due to quirks of the existing system, not due to any issue on the tech's part. Both techs were also professional and the work was done quickly and cleanly. Door has been working well since. I would use this company again.

I received immediate callbacks and follow up calls in advance of the work being done (including a two hour time window for the work). The gentlemen who completed the work were professional, friendly and went beyond simply fixing the chain. They ensured that the door was properly balanced and also lubricated all the hinges. They worked quickly as well. Finally, I received a thank you card in the mail for my business. I would definitely recommend Advance Overhead Door to a friend looking for garage door servicing or installation.

Description of Work: I called on Tuesday and the receptionist was able to work with my schedule and find a time that worked for me and their tech within 2 days. She called on the morning of to confirm the appointment time. The repair person showed up exactly when it was scheduled and completed work very quickly. He determined that the door opener did not need to be replaced, but rather just needed to be reset. He cleaned all of the cables and other equipment on the door that was broken and also did the same for the other door that was still working. He was friendly and quite pleasant, but still very professional.

+ -1 moreI called on Monday, the phone was answered by a very nice lady who set me up with a time on Tuesday. Jeff arrived promptly and met me at the offending door. He opened it, fixed the spring, and told me I needed new cables. He showed me that the door spring had been replaced 4 times previously (old structure), and told me I needed new cables. He put them in. He asked if I wanted the broken hinge on the door fixed. He did it. We were all set to go when I asked if he could do anything with a b** remote. He fixed the problem. He checked everything, had me use the remotes to see them operate, wrote up a very itemized receipt and was on his way, all in 30-45 minutes.
Description of Work: Jeff opened the 150 lb. garage door, which had a broken spring. Our garage is old and does not have another door on it, so this was not as simple as one would think. He fixed the spring, put in new cables, fixed a broken hinge that was on the door, and was even able to replace one of the automatic door opener remotes. Every single thing he needed was on his truck. He worked quickly and efficiently. He told me what was needed before he installed it. He did everything he could to give me the best price available. (He offered me a less expensive remote, for example.)

+ -1 moreJeff was very punctual and pleasant. Basically said our garage door was old and rotting and couldn't be leveled (due to wear and tear over the edges). Did fix the spring, tightened all of the nuts and bolts, lubed the moving parts, and adjusted the photo cells. My only real issue was with the cost. Said it cost 75/hr and he was there and gone in 45 minutes, though charged for the entire hour. Also charged $5 for fuel, which considering they are located about 10 min away, seemed pretty steep, and $5 for materials...though not sure what "materials" he used- except for maybe a bit of lube oil. I had just had plumbers (2 working together) that charged a total of 70/hr (for both, not for each) and did much more substantive work, so I guess I feel like the 75/hr for what he did was a bit steep.
Description of Work: We wanted the spring tightened (so that the door didn't slam down in manual mode) and wanted to see if our garage door could be leveled (bowing on end which lets water in our garage).

+ -1 moreMary was able to send a tech out the day the I called - a wire had broken and my door was stuck down with the car in the garage. Whew !!! The door was very old and needed to be replaced, so they ordered a new door for me and replaced it - it looks and works great!
Description of Work: They made a temporary repair on my door the day that I called so that I could get my car out of the garage, then ordered me a new door and installed it about a week later.

+ -1 moreI called at 11:00 and they said he would arrive between 12 and 2 the same day. He was there by 12:30. Very friendly, p[rofessional. Got right to work and fixed the problem. It was awesome! It was more expensive then I thought it would be but it was the cost of the parts--$100 per spring. The labor was $75/hour just like they say on Craig's List.
