A1 Garage Door Service

I used A1 because they were highly rated through friends. I did not find the business through Angi. With that being said, I hired them for a garage door tune-up. The agreed upon price was $79. I have had previous tune-ups before, so I knew what to expect. I stayed with the technician, good thing I did, and watched as he serviced the garage door. I don't know if he thought he'd get over on an older lady, but somehow that $79 tune-up turned into a $1200 unnecessary repair. I paid the agreed upon $79 and sent him on his way. I purposedly had another reliable company already scheduled to do a tune-up after them. I never said A1 was out, but I asked all the questions A1 told me were "necessary repairs" and the reliable company didn't bat an eye to tell me why they weren't necessary. In fact, the reliable company explained what A1 said had no merit. A1 is untrustworthy!

I'm surprised to see all the five star reviews for this company. Garage door fixes isn't rocket science. So it's a matter of how much out of pocket you're ok with. My wife made an appointment with A1 Garage because she saw a low cost "garage door tune-up" promotion. Before I could cancel the appointment because I know there's no such thing as a "garage door tune-up" this tech shows up and we spent nearly $400 for new nylon rollers. I'm the fool because I should have sent this con man on his way. The tech then quoted us over $1000 for new springs. I said no. Lesson learned, don't let A1 get near your house. We usually work with a local garage door company whom, by the way told me that new nylon rollers would cost us about $100 including installation. A1 reps will try to hard sell you. Don't go for it. Do your homework. Get quotes. A1 is very high pressure. Two days after their visit, one of the two springs broke. My wife thinks A1 did something so it would break and we'd call them back. Our local garage door company said it was probably just a coincidence. Again, buyer beware with A1 Garage Door Company.

Deceptive sales tactics, without transparent pricing. TLDR version: Was told it would cost high $700s for spring replacement, but by the time I handed over my credit card the price had somehow spiked to well over $1600. Tech claims I agreed to additional parts we did not discuss... parts that were inflated anywhere between 3x & over 10x their resale price. Total ripoff. Customer service claims they charge so much because they 'are the best." yeah, the best at swindling their customers, or should I say, victims.

We had Dom Anderson come out and fix our busted springs. Great attitude and so helpful. to the time to educate me on a solid system and let me know what I was doing right. Also told me how to save some money down the line and what I can do myself. Our garage door spring broke in the evening and they came out the very next day. I would definitely use them again, if needed. The work seems solid I may not have to! Thank you Dom!

Greg Nocun. technician, came to our home. He was polite, personable, honest, provided detailed information, and was overall everything we needed today. He literally saved us hundred of $$$ on repair work, since we needed an entire new door. He could have easily done some repairs today, but it would have been $$$ not needing to be spent since we will have a new door installed in just a few short weeks.

Submitted an appointment request through A1’s website, and I got a call back to get it scheduled within an hour (on a Saturday afternoon, no less). They got me on the schedule two days later, and arrived on time, ready to assess the job and complete the work if desired. I didn’t realize he’d be ready to install the units right away (appointment wasn’t until mid-afternoon) so I hadn’t cleared a pile of junk and construction debris out of the way. Tony was happy to help me move everything out of the way before getting started, and even stayed later than expected to install new rollers after I decided to do that as well so I wouldn’t have to schedule a second visit. I’ve spent the past four years renovating my house top to bottom, and this is one of the best experiences I’ve had with a service provider.

The job when smoothly. The technical professional responsible for the job (Greg Nocun) performed an outstanding job for us. We would hire this organization for future garage door work.

On 3/2/2018 James from A1 Garage came to fix my Garage door that was not working. His recommendations to fix the garage door cost me $579.05. When he left my garage door was still not working. Till this day 3/9/2018 my garage door still does not work and Mike Bailey, the Market Manager is ignoring my complaints. Beware of this company

Technician was very competent but kept mentioning how difficult replacing the gasket was. The price was supposed to be $99.95 but $12.95 was added on. He had no explanation for the extra charge other than we always add it. He said to call the company for an explanation. If they advertise $99.95, that's what it should cost!

While I did not hire this provider via Angie's List (I did it through an add in the paper) I cannot say enough positive about this company. I called yesterday July 16th. Josh was out today. July 17th. He looked and acted extremely professional and he knew his stuff about garage doors. He replaced the seal on the botton of the door. Total charge for the inspection and materials plus tax was a reasonable $139.00 and I did not get charged for the service call. I would highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to hire them again!

Last week my garage door malfunctioned and I called A1 Garage Door Service. The nice man who took my call and booked my appointment was very attentive. He was able to get someone to my house that same day. He got here right on time and quickly assessed my garage door situation. About one hour later he had the garage door fixed! He was so nice and so thorough with his explanation. He even gave me some tips and maintenance advice. I never had such a great experience with a home service company. Thanks to everyone else who gave A1 Garage Door a review because you guys helped me choose a super garage door company. I hope my review will help someone else too!

I had to have my garage door springs swapped out quickly! Old ones broke in 2. So I called A1 Garage Door Service early in the morning and scheduled an appointment for immediately after I got home from work. Stanley was awesome. He worked quickly & efficiently and now my garage door works great. He even repaired the light on my automatic opener at no extra charge. I always use online reviews to select which businesses I use. I tell you, you these guys will deliver fantastic service at a great price.

Horrible service unprofessional over quoted me double the price of the job very inexperienced workers

We own a house with a garage that is very old. Twice we've had A1 Garage Door out to do repairs. Well, the reviews don't lie. Both times we were beyond pleased and satisfied with the service. Donnie has been our guy. He's smart and he knows what he's doing. Also he doesn't beat around the bush, and he gets the job done quickly & quietly. The last time he was here was a serious repair. The spring broke and the door came crashing down. Donnie was here the following morning. We couldn't get our cars out, stuck in the garage. We thought it was going to be crazy expensive. He presented us with some options and it was under $350. Donnie was here for almost 3 hours working on a really unpleasant day. We were out in the yard most of the time, and you couldn't even tell he was here. My husband really likes and respects Donnie. I hope I don't have to see him fixing our garage door again anytime in the near future, but I know that if it does happen and we need him, he will be and get us up & running again. He is a super cool guy. Thanks Donnie & A1 Garage Door for always being so helpful!!

All the 5-star reviews are well-deserved. This company is great! I needed a keypad installed on my garage door in a hurry. I sent an email with the specifics, hoping they'd respond quickly. To my surprise, A1 responded that evening! They were very helpful and provided me with my options so that I could make an informed choice. The guy even let me know that it was an easy installation if I wanted to do it myself. The pricing was completely reasonable: $85 for the keypad plus labor. They sent Barry who was very nice and professional. Barry delivered on everything they promised, from showing up on time to charging exactly what he had quoted. He walked me through what he was doing and even gave me tips on how to maintain and service my garage door. A1 did a great job of communicating before my appointment. They responded to my email and phone calls. I most certainly will be calling A1 Garage Door for any future garage door needs! And, I also like that they drug-screen & background check all employees.

I recommend this place to all my friends. A1 was very professional and courteous. The man who did the work was honest and up-front. I will use them again.

This is a good company to work with. A1 came out the same morning I called them and were right on time. They did a great job explaining everything and even went above and beyond the repair. They fixed a small piece of trim that needed attention that was unrelated with the garage door repair I hired them out for. They seem really honest as well. He told me the price, I heard the wrong amount in my head and wrote the check for $20 more than what he said. He noticed mistake and corrected it. He realistically could have gotten away with me paying them more than what the job actually was. I would highly recommend A1 Garage Door Service

I can only repeat what other reviewers have said here. A1 Garage Door Service is honest, personable, and friendly. Of course in addition to doing great repair work! OK, replacing a garage door spring isn't rocket science, but if you don't know what you're doing, it can be extremely dangerous. These guys made it look easy. After he finished his work, I went out and inspected his work. It looked superb. Also the that a cheerful attitude, fast response time to fix the door, and treating me so well, these guys are now my first call for garage door related-problems. Call them! You won't be disappointed!!

I chose A1 Garage Door based off of all the fantastic reviews. Add me to the list of totally satisfied customers. I had the old-fashioned barn doors on my rural garage. When one of the doors finally broke, I decided to get a quote on a nice modern replacement. A1 is very communicative, the quote was very reasonable, and they were able to schedule me fairly quickly. I was incredibly pleased with their work, because I had no idea how expensive it may be to replace an old garage door like mine, but they summoned their experience to come up with something that would look nice, and within my budget. All the guys there at A1 are friendly, knowledgeable and have loads of experience. Even going into the security details of the garage door opener with my better half. Technician added after market parts to my door to make it work as it was put and it still did not close properly. Management was unwilling to fix it.

I called and talked to someone, who said a representative would call me back. It's been days, haven't heard from anyone.

I called and immediately someone responded and was at my home that morning. I was very pleased.
