Response from 'AAA' Pest Management, LLC
While an over-all grade of a 'B' may be acceptable to most, it was somewhat disheartening to see the 'C' grade for Quality, and only a 'B' in Punctuality when the client said above that I was on time. Here's why: The husband scheduled an exterior treatment for carpenter ants for when his wife would be home. When I arrived, she said she saw ants in the kitchen and would like that room and the basement below it treated as well. She agreed to my standard rate with a 6 month warranty. Later that day, the husband called me upset that his wife agreed to my price . He based his argument on a different service he was happy with the previous year. This was comparing apples to oranges as he based it on time alone. Almost all pest mgmt. companies do not base their fee on time and materials alone because it's unknowable at the start - not sure if follow-up visits will be necessary or not. And if they are, how many and how long each may take. Quotes are a flat fee. After explaining this I could tell he didn't want to care. So in an attempt to pacify him, he accepted a $25 adjustment. Another thing not mentioned above is that upon my follow-up visit today he was home and said there was no more ants sited in side, and that he "hosed-down" my exterior treatment afterwards for some unknown reason. Why he would intentionally attempt to remove the ongoing residual effect of the insecticide I don't know. However, even after the use of his hose surely nullified much of my treatment, after inspecting his property today thoroughly, I could not find one single ant anywhere. He received a $25 discount, his ants have been eliminated and he has 5 months left on his warranty. I'd say that kind of quality rates an 'A'.
