Weed Man Lawn Care

We had decent service until this summer. They put pesticide on our new sod and new seed and killed the grass. Customer service verified they were told NOT to treat it. It took 2 weeks for a manager to view our lawn. They then refused to take responsibility to rectify our ruined lawn. It had cost us $3500 and hours of watering and care. Now we will have to have it redone next spring. We have had no reply to a letter and photos taken to the office.

It was good, reminds before they come to your property , would ask you question and little cheaper compare to others good at giving suggestions.

When we spoke to the owner he said "give me a chance to earn your business." Well, we did, and he didn't "earn" it. We had a BAD case of weeds in our back lawn that were spreading from our flower garden. The weeds stood out quite clearly but regardless of the treatment, the weeds continued to spread. (I attached a photo of one of the weeds being discussed, we had a row of about eight of them total). We called and asked them to come back out and they kept putting us off. FINALLY a guy showed up and sprayed the area which did finally get rid of the weeds but I don't believe it was something that should have taken so long. Their pricing was higher than TruGreen, their service was not nearly as good. There are many companies available in Madison, I highly recommend you go with someone else.

We were looking for an alternative to TruGreen and heard about Weed Man on the radio so gave them a call. The rep was professional and said "Give me a chance to win your business..." (or something like that). We gave them a chance, now I wish we hadn't. Our biggest issue was a set of what I believe to be Muck Thistle. We had a row of about six to eight of these monsters spreading from our flower bed (see photo) and they were not being treated through the regular applications. We called Weed Man and asked them to come out and spray again. They set a date then broke it, but eventually someone DID come out and spray the weeds and that dealt with the problem. Weed man is more expensive than TruGreen. They rationalized the higher price with a promise of superior service; they failed. There are a lot of lawn treatment companies available in Madison, I recommend you find someone else.

I fired them, they were terrible. I honestly don't remember ay details. On responsiveness, when I got really mad they responded. They applied a weed killer that burned a lot of our grass. They also did several re-feedings, none of which worked. I have one good thing to say about them. They Were recommended to me and the people who use them are very happy with them. My main problem was continuity of are. You go through everything with them and you tell them the problems and your needs one time. The next time the next person has no idea and go by their little checklist. They never address what happens before until you complain. I think mine has been unique, I feel bad for condemning them, but I would not use them again.

We're not happy with them. I won't be going back to them. They show up, but their product doesn't work well. They need to know the exact boundaries of the yards so they do the entire yard. The product could be improved. It doesn't kill enough weeds. Communication is fine. They've called and asked for feedback and I've given it. They sent a guy out to apply more weed killer, but the product doesn't work very good.

1st application worked wonderfully, awaiting further applications.

They kept fertilizing the wrong lawn. And the invoices ended up in the yard or non-existent. We called and canceled because of all of the problems

They show up all the time. We’ve been using these guys for like 10 years. They just kind of show up and send us an invoice. They are fine. I don’t have any issues with them. They seem to be doing fine. We’ve done the same thing for 10 years and it seems to be working and we haven’t changed it.

The person came to tell me about all the services Weed Man would be providing me to provide a "lawn assessment." I was told that the quack grass covering my lawn would be eliminated by using their services. They also said that they will automatically continue my contract with Weed Man once the Veridian package has run out. (This made me a little leery of what kind of business I was dealing with). I then read through the materials the company left for me that provided the information on their services. They must have accidentally included a page that was meant for the Weed Man employee, since it went over all the things to talk to the customer about, and then said "DO NOT UPSELL THE CUSTOMER AT THIS POINT." I realized I had been dealing with the equivalent of a used car dealership. The paperwork also specifically said their product do NOT remove quack grass as I had initially been told by the "consultant," who was obviously a sales person. I do not trust or want to do business with this company once my Veridian contract is over. I will be watching my mailbox like a hawk to make sure they don't "forget" to cancel my service once the Veridian paid package is done.

The service was very good. I would recommend them. They were unbelievably prompt. The workers were very good. One thing I really like about them is that they call a day or two before they come out for the application so that you can plan accordingly.

I purchased this service thru groupon. When I called to schedule the service, the customer service person was extremely helpful and able to answer all my questions. The service was not scheduled for any particular day, but for the next time a technician would be in my area. I was asked if I preferred to be home when he arrived, I said it did not matter. It was about a week later when the technician applied the products to my lawn. I was not home at the time, but immediately knew he had been there as there were small white flags around the perimeter of my yard. There was also a plastic bag on my door with paperwork explaining what was done, instructions for staying off the lawn for 24 hours, and company phone #'s should there be any questions/concerns from me. The only negative part of the service was a potted plant on steps at the side of the house was knocked over and contents spilled. This was not cleaned up, I can only assume the technician was not aware this had happened? A few days later I received a call from the office with an offer to continue the service for the remainder of the year, which I accepted. Our lawn started looking greener and weeds(dandelions) started wilting within 3 days, and looks better than it has since we moved here 4 years ago.

Weed Man Lawn Care have been doing our lawn for the last two years and our lawn looks fantastic. They're reasonable, are always consistent and do a good job.

He was quick to come and got an estimate by the following week. we just thought it was more than we wanted to spend

He did a good job and the lawn turned out nice.

The results of Weedman's weed control and fertilizer was and is tremendous. I called several other service providers in the Madison area and Weedman was the least expensive which concerned me at first. But, I'm very happy I went this route. For one, the other providers were very hard to get a hold of. I was playing phone tag with several of them. This was not the case with Weedman. They answered their phones and they even called me a few times. They've even followed up personally with email and phone call to see if everything was okay and to upsell some other service (of which they were not pushy at all). I'm a very happy, first time customer, with Weedman and I would recommend them to others.

Weed Man came out to apply fertilizer, but they did not spray any areas that had weeds. These areas have had weeds all spring and summer, and I requested that they take care of them when I paid the year contract in full. I also requested that I be notified in advance of every application, but for two applications so far, that has not happened. I ended up calling them July 3rd only because I wanted to cancel the remaining applications, and that's when I found out they had applied fertilizer (I had to ask my neighbor if that was true, because I didn't believe them). During that call, I also determined that they did not spot spray for the weeds. They stated that a manager would be out to take a look and apparently deal with the issue, but again, I did not receive a call despite a note saying that weed killer had allegedly been applied. After inspecting my lawn, they only spot sprayed some of the areas that have weeds; several other areas remain vibrantly weedy. On July 13th, I received a call from their customer service department asking if I was satisfied with the services, and I said no. After explaining my disappointment, she scheduled a follow up visit for early next week. Sadly, I doubt I'll get a call-ahead despite requesting it yet again. It's likely I'll cancel the remaining services unless they take care of the weeds.

Got rid of all the weeds and my lawn looks great.

The initial contact was fine setting up an estimate but once they had done the estimate they proceeded to badger me with repeated phone calls and high pressure tactics. It was a total turnoff to me so I decided not to go with them for that reason. Their product sounds very good but I don't appreciate their sales tactics. I also mentioned another company that I was waiting to get an estimate from and the salesman proceeded to bad mouth that company, very unprofessional. A different salesman also called me and I told him how off putting the other salesman was and the guy laughed and said something like "he's right here, I'll tell him, he'll get a kick out of that"

I was told I need to mark my dog fence, which I did. I asked them to call before they came out, no call. Still waiting on the aeration. The lawn already looks better than if I had fertilized myself.

They always leave a nice note about what they see in our yard, if you pass along referrals for them they will give you a discount as well. We are pleased with them, we have used many lawn services in the past and we found they are the best!

Their service was similar to other lawn care services (fertilizing and weed control), but the service became more expensive each year. I decided to hire someone else to aerate my lawn in September 2012 after Weed Man refused to match or even come close to a competitor's price on the aeration job or other services. In March 2013, I decided to hire a competing service to fertilize and control weeds on my lawn for 2013. I was then surprised (and angered) to find out a month later that Weed Man had automatically signed me up for another year without my knowledge or permission! I had previously called them early in the year to renew the service at reduce, prepayment rate. They took this as a blank check to continue future business, but I had not consented to an automatic, perpetual renewal at any time. After learning that Weed Man has scheduled the first application this year, I phoned Weed Man to cancel. I was taken aback by their representative's rudeness. He continually challenged my decision to cancel with high pressure sales tactics and refused to even let me speak! I had to interrupt him several times and was ready to hang up on him! He finally relented and agreed to cancel, but only after I was completely put off. I will never do business with these people again!

We've used the the Weed Man in Waukesha for several years. They always call ahead, they are very clear about keeping our pet off the yard, they are very accommodating regarding our schedule, and rearranging the appointment. The staff are very friendly, accommodating, and do a good job. They thoroughly check over the yard, make suggestions for lawn maintenance like to lightly rake the parts of the yard where the snow packed down the ground creating winter mold, they always give us comments, and recommendations.

I use them every summer. Their service is very good. I just signed up with them for this summer.

Actually, what they ended up doing for our lawn was not what we anticipated they were going to do. We did call the company and came to a resolution. We would not probably hire them again. They had called us about a year before and told us on this process that they were going to do. We decided to do it in the fall. They had changed the process but did not tell us about it. We learned that we were getting one service and did not really get that service.
