STOPPLEWORTH PLUMBING LTD

These guys are awesome! We've had them out a couple of times now and they are always on time, super polite, and work really hard. Greg answered all my questions and took the time to explain to me what he had done. Knowing we were thinking about putting in a bathroom, he even went the extra mile and configured the plumbing so that if we did decide to do it, it would be easy. I always feel like we are getting our money's worth and then some and would highly recommend them to anyone.

The work was performed as promised. Work was done promptly, neatly, and the final cost was in-line with their estimate ($300). At the time I made the appointment, I asked Stoppleworth what they charged for the various valves they would install and how they calculated their labor costs. The final bill was accurate with what they told me over the phone. I don't know what this type of work should costs, but $300 seemed to be a full, but reasonable price. I don't know anything about plumbing supplies, but the quality of the materials (valves and back yard spicket) installed appeared to be ok, (but only time will tell). The valves removed were knob-style (turn to loosen/tighten) that failed and replaced with quarter-turn ball valves. I have no complains about the work done as the welds and valves appear to be holding to date. But I would note that the plumber was schedule to arrive between 8:00-8:30 and he arrived at 8:50 (not big deal). Also, the work done at my house required shutting-off the water supply outside at the street. Stoppleworth and I failed to find the water shut-off value out by the sidewalk. Consequently, I had to call the Madison water utility and ask that they send a crew to find and shut-off the water valve. Fortunately, they were able to send a crew that arrived within 30 minutes. They quickly found and shut the valve. At the time I scheduled the appointment with Stoppleworth, they should have insisted I call the Madison water utility and schedule to have my water turned-off to avoid this type of delay. The Madison water utility usually wants 24 hours notice. I assumed Stoppleworth would shut-off my water, but neither they nor I couldn't find the valve. To be fair, I share the blame as I thought I knew where the shut-off valve was but I didn't.

Timely and professional work.

Contacted Stoppleworth, requested date and time of repair within my schedule, they had repair person available. Repair person called on mobile while in route to home, arrived as scheduled. Visual inspection or work, all looks good, everything put back in place. Angie's List had a $25.00 off coupon that was applied to the bill. Will use them for other work if needed.

Had a laundry list of leaks--sink, garage exterior faucet, shower--and needed my in-line water heater flushed. Appt made promptly, arrived on time, managed the work. Made a return trip when the garage faucet continued to leak. | Haven't rec'd the bill yet. |

It worked out fine. They weren’t cheap but they did a great job. The price was fair. They did an outstanding job.

They were very efficient and clean, took minimal time to complete the projects. We only had them replace one outside shut off valve because it was broken but ended up calling and having the do the other one because the one they replaced was so nice.

They did an excellent. They found the source of the problem and was able to stop it. I would highly recommend them as plumbers.

Travis came to do the work at my mother's house. He was very nice and chatted with my mom who lives alone with her dog. He was done in an hour and commented that they no longer use the plumber's putty that we had on hand. He pointed out to my mom that she could use a new faucet as well. If we went bought one, he could come and install it for her. We're thinking about that. All in all I would recommend Stoppleworth plumbing. I left a message in the early evening and they called me back promptly the next morning.

Arrived on time as scheduled performed work competently with no issues and solved our problem.

They are great. Always on time and within budget. Does careful work!

Travis did a great job installing my new sump pump - he even purchased the outside drainage hose as an extra service even though the home owner is responsible for that. Stoppleworth's service is prompt, professional and cost effective. I would recommend them to my neighbors and friends, and trust them to do any future plumbing work needed in my home.

I was so impressed with how quickly Stoppleworth was able to get us into their schedule on very short notice. The repair man arrived right on time, made the repair quickly, and we were very pleased with the final cost being less than the original estimate.

From begining this was the best experience I have ever had calling to have repairs done. I called Customer Service to schedule a appointment Customer service went over the cost of everything and was wonderful answering all my questions, and scheduling an appointment was a snap. The day of the appointment, I received a phone call from Greg he was running ahead of schedule would it be ok for him to arrive earlier than scheduled, I was surprised because I have never had this happen before which was great for me, so he arrived early, was very professional,and he fixed the leak, cleaned up after himself, the cost of the work was right for the amount of time and what work he did and he gave me tips on what I would need to do for the installation of a garbage disposal, which I was going to do myself but not anymore..I will call Stoppleworth Plumbing.. and would recommend them to friends and family.

Knowledgeable and professional. It took a bit longer to get an appointment than we would have liked, but given the quality of the work (for a fair price) it was worth it. My husband forgot to give the Angie's List coupon, so I sent it along with my payment after-the-fact and was happy that they honored it.

Excellent, reliable, professional service. Very courteous and helpful installer. Felt completely comfortable leaving him alone at the house to complete his work. The only reason for the overall B instead of an A is that Stoppleworth's charges are average...not especially good.

The plumber arrived on time, even a little early. He was very efficient and professional. I was afraid the shower leak was creating mold in the wall and that I'd need to do major repairs but he was able to tell by looking up the chase wall from the basement with his lighted scope that that was not the case. He worked quickly, took care of the problem and since there was time he checked for other plumbing problems. and "tuned up" the plumbing in the bathroom. The cost seemed reasonable to me. I was very happy with the service. I'm writing this a few months after the work was done, so I no longer recall the date.

This seemed good, but then when he had left I realized that the dripping faucet was still dripping - now it was just dripping less so it was going down the side of the tub. I realized this within a day or two, but when I called them back they just said that it must have been working when they left and since i supplied the parts it wasn't warrantied. Extremely unhelpful.

The water heater stopped working, and I was unable to relight the pilot. After searching Angie's List, I called Stoppleworth Plumbing and two others. Stoppleworth was able to schedule the appointment for the same day. They arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the replacement part on hand. It took less than 30 minutes to do the job. The water heater has been working fine ever since!

Our old dishwasher had died, so we went to an appliance store to purchase a new one. The salesperson told us that installing the dishwasher would be extremely simple and sort of discouraged us from having it professionally installed for $155. After several hours of frustration later that night trying to install the dishwasher later that night, including a trip to Menards for a necessary part that for some reason was not included, we decided to give up and call in a professional. We've used Stoppleworth for other plumbing issued in the past and have always been pleased. We called them the following morning and John Stoppleworth arrived within an hour to finish the installation we'd started. He was professional, friendly and thorough. In about 15 minutes the job was done, and ended up costing us quite a bit less than what we were quoted from the appliance store. This is a first-rate, family owned and operated company and they really take pride in their work. We would strongly recommend Stoppleworth to anyone.

They gave us the best estimate and the price was perfect. They were excellent, on time, and got the job done right. We fixed another appointment for them to fix the issue in the basement and they gave us discount on the price. We are really appreciative of the work that they did.

They plumber didn't just fix the leak, he also discovered the underlying causes of the problem and fixed those as well. One drain seal was cracked and had to be replaced. The wrong sealant had been used on both drains so he also resealed the one that hadn't leaked yet. A dishwasher hose of the wrong diameter had been used, so this was replaced by hose that matched the rest of the line. And most importantly, the countertop had been improperly installed, so that anytime we opened or closed the dishwasher door or leaned on the counter by the sink, we were putting mechanical stress on the plumbing. He lowered the dishwasher and reinforced the edge of the countertop at the sink to stabilize the countertop. A very professional job in every way.

We had another night of torrential rain ( 54”), our sump pump failed, so I had been up since the wee hours bailing water. As soon as Stoppleworth’s opened, we contacted them (8 AM) the dispatcher said she’d tell the service man the important nature of our situation. He arrived before 9 AM and all fixed and functional by 10 AM. BRAVO!

Travis was prompt, expedient and professional.
