STOPPLEWORTH PLUMBING LTD

The gentleman I talked to on the phone was most helpful and knowledgeable. We spoke for at least 15 minutes before we came up with a plan: He would call the Madison Water Utility and have them check for a leak before one of the Stoppleworth plumbers came out. The Madison Water Utility was there within a half hour, checked out the problem we were having and recommended that we have a plumber check the valves because they were very old. Stoppleworth came out (early!) on our appointment day, changed out one of the valves and everything seems to be fine. We were very, very pleased with our service, from the first phone call to the plumbing work. They are really a class act and I have recommended them to friends.

I have dealt with Stoppleworth plumbing before and were very satisfied with the service. We had to have a pipe replaced in the floor of our basement and was given the Stoppleworth name from the RotoRuter man, They came and gave us an estimate. 3 days later Travis came and dug up my basement to replace the pipe. It did not need to be replace as far as they and estimated so the cost was a lot less. When Travis was done you could not tell that any thing had happened in the basement except for the new cement in the floor. It was cleaner than when he had started. This time I needed our dishwasher hooked back up after a new sink and counter top was installed and Travis came once again and did a super job. I am so happy with this company that I am spreading their name all over, because they are small and so reasonable in price and they do a great job. I would put many +'s behind the A rating that I gave them.

Our basement was finished prior to our moving in, so we didn't think we would be able to install a water line to our refrigerator. Travis was able to do it by running the line from under the sink through the cabinets and to the refrigerator. The whole process went extremely well and the water line is not noticable at all. We are very pleased with the work and with the responsiveness of the company.

We were approved and the required approval was sent to the Village.

These folks were super. They called Kohler attempting to fix existing toilet. They spent a lot of time attempting to find parts and when Kohler said toilet is no longer made and parts not available, they installed new one. They were quick, reasonably priced and extremely nice! I will definitely use them again.

I had a good experience and I will use them again. At the end of spring we had a ton of rain and the basement flooded, and they came out to get the sump pump working for me. The staff was very friendly.

John showed up early (called first), did the work, helped me find a replacement part (to fix one of the leaky faucets myself), and was in a good mood the whole time.

We had pipes that lead to two outside faucets that had burst over the winter. One is in our garage and the other is under a deck. Both pipes were repaired and the one under the deck was changed to a new "pipe" that flexes with the changes in temperature. Several small supports were added to the pipe in the garage. The plumber was friendly and professional and cleaned everything up and took all the junk. We are very pleased with the work that was done.

I was happy with the quality of the work and the price. Less happy with the fact that they did not follow up on my request for an estimate on the laundry project.

If they could have gotten it done sooner I would have gone with them. They came in at a great price but more importantly were honest with me about everything. They pointed to the pros and cons of the different options and steered me to the best, most affordable option for us. Can't say enough good things about this company!

After reading the reviews on this site, I went for Stoppleworth as this was the first time we'd needed a plumber since moving to Madison a few years ago. Greg showed up exactly at the appointed time and fixed everything our bath faucet leak with a calmness that was impressive; he also explained how we didn't need a more expensive full replacement of our original faucets except for cosmetic reasons, saving us ~$600 dollars on installation and minor renovations.

A few minutes before the scheduled time, dispatch called to tell me the plumber was running about 30 minutes behind. Not ideal, but the call was appreciated. Once he arrived and saw the work to be done, he realized that due to some miscommunication he did not have the drain assembly parts needed. This part of the job wasn't as crucial to me, since I'm pretty handy he showed me how to assemble it myself, and it ended up saving me some money not having him do it. He moved onto the more involved second part, which had him cutting out the faucet/shower and raising it up higher, sweating in new copper fittings, and remounting it. The work was great, and he completed this portion of the job in under an hour. He also gave me some great tips on installing the tub and the wall tile around the fixtures. The advice was much appreciated. In summary, while they were 30 minutes late and didn't have a needed part, the main task of moving the copper pipes was completed quickly and the workmanship looked solid. Price was fair, and the plumber was courteous & knowledgeable. I will certainly call Stoppleworth's again if I need more plumbing work done.

They are very efficient and very personable. They are very responsive. I haven't gotten the bill yet. I've used them before.

Very professional, nice, and easy to work with. Quoted me a great price, and the work was impeccable.

I called and spoke with Sheldon. He suggested they have someone come out to view the existing drain line in the wall in the kitchen. Instead I sent photos to him. Once I had explained why the drain wasn't working, he understood the problem. Talked to the people who would actually come out to do the work and called me back with an estimate. We arranged a time for the work to be done. They were supposed to let me know they were in the way and did not do so. It wasn't a problem for me. The performed the work, cleaned up after themselves, gave me the bill to pay, took my check and left.

Very easy to schedule time for an appointment and the plumber arrived on time, twice.. Stoppleworth was able to locate and install a special toilet that at a reasonable price. They also fixed a toilet and a lavatory faucet quickly and, most importantly, honestly. A dependable, honest company that is a pleasure to deal with.

He came in, did exactly what was needed, and without recommending a bunch of additional unnecessary work as has happened with other companies. Friendly, professional, timely.... can't ask for anything more. I would hire these guys again in a minute!

It turns out that Stoppleworth doesn't install water heaters that they haven't provided themselves, but I really appreciated that they bothered to call and inform me of that. They also spent time with me on the phone explaining to me what other materials we would need to purchase and approximately how much another professional would charge for the install. They were very courteous and if I ever have plumbing needs in the future I will definitely call.

I called the office about 4:30P, got an answer machine. They called me back right away the next morning and sent the plumber out. No hassles. They also acknowledged the $25 Angies List discount.

I called at 8:30 am and by noon everything was fixed--amazing service. Mr. Stoppleworth explained the bill in detail. He is a great businessman. I will def. use the company again!

As mentioned, it went great overall. The entire project went better than expected,

I had a hot water faucet in the bathtub that would not turn off and knocked, requiring me to shut off all water until fixed. I called Stoppleworth at 3:00 on a Monday afternoon, and they had a plumber in the neighborhood, who was at my house by 3:30. Luke quickly diagnosed the problem and advised me of his recommendations. He was professional, friendly, and happy to explain what he was doing and why. Luke indicated that if I had issues in the future with leaking, that he'd come back and fix it under their warranty. By 4:30 PM, the issues were resolved with my receipt electronically emailed to me for my records. What more could a customer ask for?

It works great! No more leaking! I hadn't even noticed how wobbly the toilet was until he left and now I notice how stable it is in comparison. He was very clean and actually cleaned up the floorboards from the leak as much as possible (they are now water stained, as the leak was pretty severe). Very nice and professional. They have a new computer system involving iPads that still needs a few kinks worked out, but it has the potential to work great! (They are still waiting for the credit card swipe add-on for the iPad, so he had to just take down my credit card number to input upon his return to the office. When they receive the device to swipe the card at the site, this system will be amazing.)
