They were very prompt with their proposal.

We met with the owner, Ryan Shaw, before, during and after the job was completed. He does not have the largest crews for these jobs but the team he has obvoiusly knew what they were doing and completed the jobs on time and in a professional manner. During the job, Ryan stopped by each day to review progress, deliver materials and answer any questions from either ourselves or the work crew. The crews covered the shrubs and cleaned the area for nails and debris regularly. I would not hesitate to use Ryan Shaw and Ralston Exteriors again on a future project. They did an outstanding job. Very professional, worked hard to remove the old siding. Job took longer than expected due to some complications with the house (unforseen obstacles), but they held to their original estimate to the dime. Overall, we couldn't be happier about our experience with Ralston Exteriors. They were never pushy when we first met with them, like over roofers were. Other roofers kept calling and calling trying to force us to go with their company, where Ralston can and told us exacly what would be done and the price we would be paying and it was as simple as that. It was a company you just wanted to do business with. Very, very happy.

All the work that Ryan and his crew have completed at my house has been done on time, when promised. The quality of work has been superb. Ryan is a perfectionist and so are his employees. They were prompt, easy to communicate with, and did a great job. They cleaned up every last nail and scrap of material around the house. I found this company very easy to work with and plan to use them again in the future. Couldn't give them a higher rating than an A or I would have!

I contacted Ralston to get an estimate on facia replacement. Ryan came for the scheduled appointment and was very thorough. He didn't try to sell us anything that we didn't need and said only that we needed new facia on one side of the house. Ryan actually got up on a ladder and examed it, as opposed to another company that I connacted that sent a salesman. He even mended a rip in the attic vent screen that may have been allowing bats in. He did this with no charge and prior to us agreeing to have Ralston do the work. He and his workers showed up when they said they were going to. They were respectful of the neighbors and did a good job of cleaning up. We are very happy with the work and will use Ralston for any roofing, siding and facia repairs in the future.

We had several estimates for the various types of work we needed and chose Ralston because of Ryan's professionalism and responsiveness. We did our homework and at some point the choice became obvious. We had a lot of work done so we had a lot of questions and Ryan was patient and responsive throughout the whole process. Not everything went perfectly but you can't really expect it to when you have a lot of work done and the problems were mostly on the supplier end. Ryan was very quick to resolve everything and never made us feel like our concerns were minor. A couple windows and a patio door were shipped with minor blemishes and Ryan immediately switched them out without us even having to ask. He was quick to issue credits for work not needed and very reasonable in his charges for extra's.

They have been great. I would use them again for that type of work.

We contacted 4 different contractors. Ralston Exteriors was by far the best in terms of the presentation they made describing the work they would do. It was obvious they were up to date on materials and techniques. There was no pressure of any kind to sign up with them. When he left he mentioned a few things we should look for no matter who we signed up with. We needed a few days to decide and Ralston Exteriors did not call us during that time to try and pressure us into going with them. Their bid was in the middle of the quotes we received and less than the amount the insurance company would pay. We signed up to have them do the work. The work went smoothly and Ralston Exteriors maintained communication with us during the entire process. We were kept up to date on the job as it progressed. The president of the company was on the job site several times to check on things and make sure we were satisfied. The job was completed and everything looks great. After the work was completed and it was time to pay the bill. Ralston Exteriors allowed time for our insurance company to pay us before we paid them. The insurance company was swamped due to the large number of storms this season and it took a while for them to send us the check. Ralston Exteriors did not pressure us in any way to pay during this time. I am very impressed with Ralston Exteriors and would highly recommend them to anyone. When your home has been damaged it is very stressful for the homeowner. Ralston Exteriors excellent service went a long way to making the whole experience much easier and less stressful.

Ryan worked with our insurance company, which had initially said we only had damage to two sides of the home, when our aluminum siding had taken a beating on all four sides. We waited until Spring 2011 to have the job done. Very nice guys on his team, very accommodating to our questions and requests.Took a little longer than expected because we chose a very cold and rainy week in April to start the job. Very professional, very pleased with our experience w/ Ralston. UPDATE: I wanted to update this review to say how please I've still been with Ralston Exteriors. We thought we had some ice damming going on, and Ryan was quick to come by and check things out for us to make sure we were in the clear. They stand behind their work. Thanks! 9/8/14

We had an excellent experience with all the people associated with Ralston, from the owner to all the workmen. Most importantly, we are very pleased with the final result! They were attentive and responsive during the design stage, bringing their own good ideas and listening to our wishes. Our design idea demanded some complex structural elements. All that complexity was handled in an open, competent and confidence-inspiring fashion with all appropriate attention paid to material selection, city building codes and permits. Once construction commenced, the workmen were very professional: punctual, respectful and sincerely interested in our satisfaction. To underscore the point, during demolition of the old deck the carpenters had the presence of mind to protect and replant two of our rose bushes without prompting from us. It's a little thing, but it still impressed me. I'm thrilled to be able to report also that after almost a year the construction has withstood the seasons very well. We've observed no construction flaws, no weathering issues, no settling and no water run-off problems (knock on wood!).

It was good but more than I wanted to pay.

It was a positive experience from start to finish. Everyone was courteous during the estimates and during the actual work. The job sites were cleaned up when the work was completed. They answered all of our questions and offered helpful advice. We were very pleased with the workmanship and the final outcome. I would recommend Ralston Exteriors for all of the services we had done to our house.

We hired Ralston Exteriors to repair hail damage we had done to our siding, roof and gutters. Ryan Shaw, the general contractor, was quick to come to our damaged home to access the damage and submit an estimate. He was very thorough in describing what they would do and explain why they did things the way they did. He provided suggestions to improve the look and longevity of our home (two levels of ice and water shield, install a roof vent, 30 year architectural shingles). The starting date was very precise and the work was totally done within two weeks. The took care of the permit as well as the dumpster. The yard was cleaned up every night after work was completed and every worker we talked to was extremely friendly and comfortable answering any questions we had. The roof was completed first and tied into the walls where required to provide a total weather-tight seal. The siding was done from stripping off the old aluminum to finishing the last piece of vinyl within 4 working days. Gutters were installed just before a period of rainy days appeared. I was extremely pleased with the whole process. I am happy with the quality of the materials and overjoyed with the care taken with the installation of the new room and siding. Our house looks like new. We know it's actually better now than new with the better quality shingles, ice and water shield, tyvec wrap, bigger gutters and dent resistant vinyl siding. I would recommend anyone looking for siding or roofing to contact Ryan Shaw at Ralston Exteriors.

Overall, Ralston did an excellent job on my repair and I would definitely use them again. I have recommended their services to a couple of friends. One of my friends already had Ralston fix their siding related problems and they were extremely happy with the outcome. Our contact at Ralston was Ryan and he was very timely in getting me an estimate and doing the work. I had contacted a total of 4 companies. Two never showed up to give me an estimate. The 3rd company did finally give me an estimate, but I had to call back multiple times. Their quote was double the estimate from Ralston and only covered replacement of one piece of fascia. The weather turned bad so we haven't had any work done with it yet. He was very professional and he follows up. He came out even when I was not home and measured it up.

I called Ryan of Ralston Exteriors and he made an appointment to meet me at the building within about three business days. He showed up perfectly on time and was polite and helpful as we walked around the building and discussed the job. He proposed a number of different options for materials in several cases and explained the merits and demerits of each one clearly but let me make my own choices without any pressure (he also told me he would provide separate estimates for different materials, which he did). After we were done walking the site, he stayed with a ladder and tape measure and took more precise measurements of the work to be done. He told me he would send me an estimate by e-mail within one day, which he did. He also responded quickly to two follow-up questions I had. I offered to pay him for doing the estimate, but he declined my offer, saying he hoped to do the job for us. I was very impressed with the whole process and will hire Ryan and Ralston instantly to do the job if we go ahead and buy this building.

Good advice, prompt, and good communication

Overalll a good experience. There was some miss comunication as to all teh work to be done initailally, but after some friendly discussion, teh work was done to my satifaction.

They were very professional and we were very impressed with them. He was willing to go over things with us. He called back several times to see if we had questions. They were very quick in responding too.

I called Ralston Exteriors and the owner returned my call within 10 minutes. He was very professional on the phone and came over the next day to look at the gutter. That night I was emailed a quote and I called the next day to approve it and find out when we could have it repaired. It was not only an eyesore but a bit dangerous so I was in a hurry to have it replaced. Unfortunately, the crew was on a job out of town and couldn't get to it until the next week. I decided to wait and they were there on time and completed the job so fast! Also, I requested that they call 10 minutes in advance so I could put my dog away and they did just that (I've had other contractors just show up with no notice so this was important to me). I really enjoyed doing business with Ralston Exteriors and the next time I'm in need of any exterior home repairs, I will call on them first.

I called for an estimate and the owner and I agreeded on a time to meet and he was there right on time. Once I hired them the work was done on time, actually a little ahead of schedule. At the end of the project they cleaned up so you really didn't realize they were there. Very trustworthy, would use them again.
