Quick, educated, guided build on the phone with Paul and Corbin took 15 minutes, the build took 4 days, they are working flawlessly. My only advice is that if you want a specific name for your computer (eg: Moms Computer, JOSHUA, Reception One, Spongebob, etc.) that you request that at checkout in the comments box. I highly suggest building what you think you need, put it in the shopping cart, and then save it, then call CPU Solutions to review your choices live with one of the great sales staff. I can't put in words how great this experience has been so far, they are building me a new server right now, the heart of my business, and I'm confident it will go great.
Description of Work: I have been building my own machines since the late 1980's (8086, 286 et al.) Now that I am busy with running my own business, I just don't have the time to fiddle and cobble parts together, and a friend recommended CPU Solutions. My software provider was quoting me a server and 2 workstations for almost $7,000US ! CPU Solutions allowed me to custom-build the same machines with much more robust, enterprise-level components, assembled and burnt-in by them, with a 3 year parts/labor guarantee, for literally less than half that price. I was floored with the quality of the parts. They don't offer 500 kinds of motherboards, they offer the best handful for each type of computing need. They don't have 3000 hard drives, they have 50, the best 50, from inexpensive to ones that have an average fail time of 1.4 million hours. Their components, as I built a system online at their website, compared to pricing at Newegg.com, were the same or within $10 of Newegg! So, trying to DIY it myself would have saved me nothing, and since they test and burn in the computers, it was a system I could drive 10 minutes and pick up, all with a reasonably priced 3-year warranty on parts and labor. Incredible. All the staff I've dealt with (Paul, Corbin, and the nice man at checkout (owner?)) were friendly, experienced, knowledgeable, and I never felt like I was oversold on components I didn't need. The two screaming-fast machines I already have installed came with MS Security Essentials and Windows 7. That's it. No bloatware, no resource hogging junk (Norton, McAfee, etc) that takes me half an hour to uninstall and never gets out of the registry. They are building me a new server as we speak, and I'm happy to keep my money local to Wisconsin with an exceptional company that has been around and will still be around to serve my needs. IF I needed a new machine, be it an inexpensive one to surf the web or a kid, a super-duper gaming rig, an overclocking monster, a business machine for tiny to huge corporate needs, whatever I would need, I will be going to CPU Solutions from now on. I wish I knew about them sooner. Great staff, Great service, Great pricing, Great computers.
