Buckley Tree Svc

Buckley had diagnosed the browning & dying of my spruce trees in previous years. They treated for rhizospaaera and sent their estimate/bill in advance each succeeding year as a reminder. It became very expensive, so i stopped. Later another tree company doubted the problem was properly diagnosed and recommended injected vitamins and paying attention to water. Buckley never tested, or re-examined between treatments, so I wondered if treatments had been wasted. I gave them a negative review. A year later I found I could test for the fungus myself by taking samples to the county extension center. They confirmed rhizosphaera. So Buckley was proven correct after all. All tree companies should offer testing to their clients to avoid this doubt - the fungus is not visible to the eye, only the damage. (Follow-up: Buckley told me they did not appreciate my negative review and refused my later request for estimate. I am working with other companies.)

The rep was very professional and knowledgeable when he walked around the yard with me. The proposal was detailed. There was a crew of 3 men who did the actual tree removal and chipped all the branches/trunk in our driveway. They were very professional and cleaned up well.

Everything's been great with them. The arborsist is very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions.

I had 2 quotes already for treating my sick spruces trees, but a neighbor with the same problem scheduled an appointment with Buckley, so I asked if he could "swing by" and quote mine also. He cheerfully obliged. They do charge for a quote ($35, in addition to the work performed) - most companies do not do this. Nevertheless, his professionalism and knowledge were impressive and we both decided to hire him. He only charged once for the quote fee and we split it between us. His rates were substantially less than the others, which more than made up for the fee. They scheduled a morning for the work and did both yards in less than 45 minutes! Mine was done while I was away and they left a note indicating the time and work done. The billing came soon after in the mail, billed as quoted plus tax. They will contact me in the spring for the next applications which will be billed at the same rate. So the total work for 4 treatments will be $480. Some companies suggested I wait until spring to start, but my trees were pretty damaged and I thought even the late season application might help a little.
