Aluma-Trim

The only one we are dealing with right now is Aluma- Trim Of America but the windows are not going to be installed until the end of this month. I liked that it was the owner that came, Terry Grossman was very knowledgeable and wasn't a big pressure there or anything and he went over everything and explained the different types of windows and what would do best in our house and very friendly.

Terry was an easy person to work with--Crew was friendly and efficient- Work done in timely manner--Small problems resolved quickly and professionally.

They did the work as expected. Two days for window replacement and another two days for trim work.

Their behavior was very professional and there was no pressure. They had very competitive pricing and it was overall a really good experience. They were also significantly cheaper than the other quotes we received.

Michael (salesman) and his installer showed up on time to do a fine measurement of the windows. On installation day they were here on time promptly went to work and cleaned up after themselves, taking all refuse with them. They had me inspect each window both inside and out. I was impressed with their work and their professionalism. They are the only company I'd go to in the future for windows.

The experience was really wonderful. They guy was particular. He is finishing up now. We were really impressed with this one guy. It turned out really well. The house was like a new house.

Terry did respond to my email request for an estimate very quickly. However, when I was able to return his call, it seemed like I had reached his personal cell, instead of a business phone so I was hesitant that I had even called the correct phone number. He was able to schedule an appointment and he showed up on time. He was quick to shoot down our opinions. Instead of informing us of pros and cons he just said he would not use certain materials because he doesn't like them. He was not able to perform all the work our project would require, and we would need to hire someone else in addition. Which is okay, he has a specialty and that is fine, but just the tone in his voice, and the words he used to tell us that were not very professional. We secured a bid with a different company that could do all the work for the same price as Terry. He was very polite, and he probably is very knowledgeable, but he lets his own opinions get in the way of aiding his customers in making an informed decision. We did choose a different company to perform the project for us.

The experience is so far so good. So far, we've asked like a million questions and they've been able to come up with answers. As far as I could tell, they're not trying to overcharge us. They haven't had the actual job done so I don't know what's going to happen, what's going to begin in to it, but at this point, they're willing to do whatever we're asking.

They were very easy to work with. Jerry was very knowledgeable and very professional. The work they did, I've even had neighbors tell me what a good job they did.

We are extremely pleased with the service we received and the final product. Our house looks fantastic. Further, the price was substantially less than the estimates we received from other companies. The crew that worked on our house was very experienced and professional. Each day, they answered any questions I had and updated me on the progress. Futher, any time any issue arose, they were sure to update me and to ask for my input. Our house was badly in need of new siding and had experienced significant deterioration. These issues were thoroughly addressed without forcing us to pay a lot more money. In fact, during the project, it was discovered that some work we contemplated was not necessary, and we received a rebate. Overall, this contractor is one we would highly recommend!

Some windows in our condo needed to be replaced; Aluma- Trim was a great choice as the service provider. From the first e-mail to the follow-up visit after the windows were installed, everything was done with an attention to our needs. A thorough quote with description was needed for our condo association and this was provided promptly and with great detail. The quality of the windows is outstanding. They look beautiful and a reduction in heating costs has already been noted. The installation was completed in a timely and professional manner. We are planning on calling on them again.

Aluma-Trim came out to give us an estimate for one window. When I showed him the window, he said I just needed a new storm window - much cheaper than a whole new window. I had 3 other estimates and not one person told me all I needed was a new storm window. Aluma-Trim was respectful, took their shoes off when they entered my house - they even came out when it was snowing to measure the windows. I am extremely satisfied with my experience with Aluma-Trim

We were very pleased with Alumatrim. They were able to complete the work while we were aware. The aluminum looks good and we don't have to worry about repainting and wood rotting.

We had used Alumatrim last year to install trim on our house. We were so happy with the results, we went back to Alumatrim (Mike) and we had some smaller projects for this year. The first one, near and dear to my heart, was replacing our gutters. Our previous gutters, as I found out later, were not installed correctly and were not sloped to drain properly. Very frustrating because, over time, they developed large holes due to the standing water and leaves or other debris would easily clog the down spouts. The new gutters are fantastic. All of the work was completed in one day and Alumatrim was able to match our trim (from last year) with the gutters, so the gutters are almost lost when you look at the house. That's how I like it. In fact, the gutters are one color to match the trim; the down spouts are another color to match the siding. Very nice. We also asked Mike about installing a new patio door since our old one was not sliding great and we could feel cold air coming in through the seams. Not good in cold Wisconsin. We love the new door. Not only do I feel safer (it has much better security than the previous door), but it was made locally. The glass is much thicker and it slides so much better than the previous one (and it's much quieter, too). All in all, my family and I are very pleased with Alumatrim. Mike is very good at what he does and he stands behind his products and explains all of the warranty information. That's something that I like and want for the long-term investment of my house.

About an hour and a half after leaving a voice mail message, Michael Grossman, the owner's son, returned my call. We made an appointment for Michael to come out the following day. Michael arrived promptly and we had a very relaxed discussion. It was almost like talking to a consultant rather than a salesman. There was no sales talk and certainly no pressure. He related quite a bit of background information regarding the company and its experience in the industry. He explained the types of windows, features, prices, installation, etc. He then covered the features of his company's product. He basically gave me enough information to make a decision without resorting to any sales tactics. Michael did not have an acutal window with him, but he did have a brochure along with pictures of various installations by the company. (I asked to see the actual window and made an appointment to visit the company's office.) I was concerned about the quality of the installation and the installers. Michael said Ron would do the installation and there was no one better. Michael & Ron arrived promptly on the date scheduled to take measurements. The windows were ordered and arrived within two or three weeks. Michael was right about Ron. He was great. He had an assistant the first two or three days on the job. After that, he worked alone.and still finished in what I thought was record time. I was very pleased with the company, the product, the price, and the installation. I will use Aluma-Trim for another project I'm planning.

I researched several businesses when it was clear that the windows from my 80 year old house were beyond repair. I have leaded glass windows, which I didn't want to loose. While the aluminum is not as energy efficient, all companies said that was the way to go if I wanted to keep the interior leaded windows. Michael gave an estimate that was lower than the other companies. He bought the old windows, which reduced the cost. I had 6 large windows and 2 French windows trimmed and fitted with aluminum windows. He gave me several different ways to go, and also added trimming to 6 basement windows at minimal cost. He explained his recommendations, kept up-to-date on where we were in process, and made sure I was satisfied with the work.

They responded right away and within a couple of days were able to come out to my house for to provided the estimate. No high pressure sales, but yet very informative. Was able to quickly get the price and go over the specifications and options. Very responsive via phone or email to follow up questions and provided referals of other customers. Ultimately I did not go with Alumatrim--it ultimately came down to the fact that another company had what I thought was a higher quality product for not that much more money and had additional color options that Alumatrim could not offer.

Local multi-generation family. Provided a fair and timely quote on replacement of the aluminum fascia and wrapping on our home. They custom cut and wrapped all the areas of trim. Attention to detail was very good. Definitely will keep their information for any future work.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Alumatrim. From the moment I met Mike, I was impressed. Mike came out and was very professional about the quote and answering all of my questions. We came together on color, timing, and I really liked his quote. It was a least $1000 less than a competitor, who was another Angie's listed company. Anyway, the person installing the trim was very good to work with and very professional. You could tell that not only did he know his craft very well, he also took pride in what he did. Plus, and this is the best part in my opinion (other than the price), is that the guy cleaned up EVERY night. As a home owner who takes pride in having a clean yard (even with kids) and wanting things to stay orderly, I was very appreciative of that. Unfortunately, due to personal issues out of his control, the work took longer than expected, but, again, I was OK with that since the work being performed was top notch. One last thing, we live in an area where the wind really picks up - even more so than a block away. We noticed that once the job was done, the whistling noises that we could hear during high wind days and nights were gone. That was nice and an added bonus. We will probably have Alumatrim replace our gutters this spring if things work out. I would recommend them to anyone!

I had purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for the job because they had done siding work and door replacement for us in the past and we were always satisfied. My only complaint about the present experience was that the Angie's List discount was never clearly applied - it was implied, and that bothered me. However, we got some other estimates, and became satisfied that we were indeed getting better products at a better price with Alumatrim of America - with or without the Big Deal. My advice to others would be to forget the "Big Deal" and deal with Terry directly. We selected the door and window styles and colors, and they were factory made locally. That took a month or more. They are very nice and match our woodwork and siding perfectly. Much better than the windows we were considering with a different contractor. The installer is meticulous and very skilled. We have no complaints other than the confusion caused by the "Big Deal" itself.

Michael is great. Not your typical sales man. Actually, he is now the CEO. There were issues with our windows when they came in but he got them resolved in a very short amount of time. I actually used Alumatrim on two other projects and they back their product and are surprisingly affordable. Overall great service, great price! He alerted me to problems with rotting wood and took care of the issue!

They came out and said the additional cost for having windows put in was $1,700 in addition to the deals. I decided to ask for a refund. They were very professional.
