Thompson Construction provided a quality job. Gary (owner) was always on time, or early, and kept me informed of what was happening when. He also listened to my concerns; one was a drainage issue in the area. Gary assured me the area would drain properly when complete. It did. The crew consisted of seasoned professionals with decades of experience. As an older person, I especially appreciate that as I know how valuable experience is. I had three companies bid the job. The price was fine, definitely competitive.

Gary Thomson Installed a concrete stoop in front of my house that was not measured properly, was off by 1.5 th of an inch. Which may ot sound bad, but when the new iron railing was installed it looked very obvious that there was a miss alinement. I called Mr. Thomson several times and he failed to get back to me, when I threatened a poor review on the list he finely did call me. He did admit to his mistake and offered to remake the stoop, which would of been satisfactory for me however, he never got back to me. Needless to say I am very disappointed in him and his company. Mr Thomson also has terrible customer service and can be down right rude sometimes, all of which I might of overlooked if he had done a half decent job. How this man got his stellar awards on the list is a mystery and has made be question my continued membership with Angie's List, I just can't trust it anymore.

Bruce promptly returned my call. He was pleasant and easy to talk with. Due to the time of year and concrete shortage, they would not be able to perform any work for me this season. I did appreciate his quick response time and will consider getting an estimate in the spring.

The whole process with Gary Thompson and his crew was great. I am pleased with how the driveway turned out and with the pitch of the driveway now. Gary was very responsive and called me back within a day. He explained the possible issues that could come into play with our house. Gary met me at the house very soon after the initial phone call to provide a free written quote (acually quoted 2 number, one for a portion of the driveway and one for the entire driveway). Unfortunately the final price was slightly over the originally quoted price but this was communicated to me very well from Gary and I did read the contract prior to agreeing to the work, so it was not a surprise for me. Gary and his crew were very efficient getting the whole driveway done and cut within about a week even after running into some problems with the thickness of the driveway and the wet soil undre the driveway. Gary completed sealing the driveway and cutting the next day. Overall, I am extremely pleased with how the concrete work turned out and I am happy that we not only have a nice new driveway but also that the driveway is helping keep the basement dry. Gary and his crew have years of experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else. His professionalism, knowledge and expertise is far above anyone else I talked to. Great. Really knows what he's doing. Very busy guy so it took awhile to arrange for the slab to be poured but it was worth the wait. Cleaned up nicely afterwords; was conscientious not to rip up the lawn with a concrete truck; rather brought it in load by load from the road on a bobcat. Very happy with the price. Took two days: one for the prep and one to pour. Can't wait for it to cure so we get to work on the shed. Thanks, Gary!

Gary returned my call within a few days of my contacting him. He stated that due to an extremely busy work load that he would not be able to get to my rather small job anytime in the near future. He then went on to spend several minutes with me on the phone educating me on what to look for in a concrete contractor; what type of product he believed should be used for the job I wanted done, and approximately how much a legitimate contractor would charge for the job. While I was initially disappointed that he was not interested in the job, it was very refreshing to have him spend the time to explain what to look for in a quality contractor and quality concrete job. I would not hesitate to contact him again for future projects.

He did the job over two days. The demolition went smoothly. He put in the forms and them poured the concrete. After the concrete cured he mortared in the replacement brick and tuck pointed the face brick. He left someone at the site while the concrete was curing to assure that if it rained he could put tarps over it. After the work was done, he wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the result. After he got into the demolition he realized that he would need more depth of concrete than he quoted. He did this but did not ask for more money. I was happy with the final result and would hire him again.

Got tied up in traffic so was 30 minutes late, but the work was done well and I am satisfied.

Very prompt, started when promised - finished when promised. Excellent care taken around plant beds etc.

I contacted Thompson Construction to request a quote for fixing/redoing my front porch/steps. When we finally connected by phone, Mr. Thompson provided a sarcastic response when I told him where I lived. He then clarified stating that he hates the East side of Milwaukee and would not even come to give me a quote. He may do excellent work, but if you live on the east side of town, don't even bother calling.

I had a small job that I needed to get done. I have a 5 foot long brick wall in front of my house and the concrete cap needed to be replaced. They did a great job - the front of my house looks really nice. Price was reasonable and the labor hours equaled about 12 between the two workers. Overall a positive experience!

Went well. We got good advice on our leakage problems and a cost effective solution.

It was wonderful that they came in on short notice and completely finished the rather large job in 2 days! I was overjoyed with their professionalism and quality. They probably could have charged me much more, since I was rather desperate to get the job done, but they remained extremely fair in their pricing. I had contacted other concrete contractors who were double in cost to what they were. They were very busy with other jobs at the time, so I really appreciated the fact that they did the job at all and thrilled that the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend them!

Our side walk turned out beautifully. They put in a new driveway and patio between the houses they did it beautifully and they were able to complete it in two day's. They took out the old topsoil. It slopes away from the house like it should and it looks beautiful. They had the best price.

Gary called us back within 24 hours, which during this busy season was impressive. Unfortunately, he told us he did not service the Jackson area. Thompson Construction is located in Menomonee Falls or Colgate (not sure which), which is less than 15 miles from our home in Jackson. We find it hard to believe they do not do work in our area. He did say they were very busy, so my hunch is he simply was not interested in what he considered to be a small job. (Of course, he had no idea of how large an extension we required, b/c he didn't ask.) He suggested we contact someone in Jackson. We are new to the area and don't know any service providers, which is why we subscribed to Angie's List.. We entered our zip code on Angie's List and Thompson Construction was one of the names that came up. If they don't want to do work in Jackson, their name should not be on the list of contractors for Jackson. We are very disappointed.

The front porch was designed with landscaping bricks which were crumbling and breaking away. The driveway area from the garage to the side porch was cracked and settled in uneven levels. Based on the high ratings in Angie's List, I called Thompson Construction to come out to provide me with an estimate for the work. Gary promptly returned my call and came out to assess the work that needed to be done. He gave me his honest opinion of what needed to be replaced and what could be patched (side porch.) His estimate was fair and competitive. Gary and his crew were courteous, friendly, and professional. I was kept informed of the status of the work. They exceeded my expectations by cleaning up the work area each day, replacing the dirt around the edges of the driveway and walkway, and planting new bushes (which I purchased) to replace bushes that needed to be removed when the front porch was removed. Now that the work is done, it looks fantastic! I highly recommend Thompson Construction to anyone in need of concrete work.

Gary and his crew were phenomenal during the entire project, and their work was outstanding. They even took the time to clean up the area in time for a neighbors party that was going on nearby. We?ve already had complements from numerous neighbors, and the job was just literally finished today. Gary was great to work with throughout the project, and kept us up to date on all rescheduling due to many days of rain. We would definitely call Gary again in the future if the need arises, and would recommend him to anyone that is looking for concrete work!

Outstanding work, our entire extended family has used his services. Earlier in the summer did my parents driveway.

In addition to completing our patio, Gary's Mason (Frank) finished our outdoor fireplace. It is absolutely gorgeous and everyone who sees the natural stone fireplace really loves the craftsmanship and detail. We would definitely use this service again. They were fast and efficient and really performed quality work for a reasonable price.

I was very very happy with the man who came out. I think their quote was reasonable. I liked the fact that he got back to me right away, he called and said that he was going to be busy for a period of time, and he'd get back to me on another day. He made an appointment, actually on a Sunday, came out to take a look at it, he came and was there, didn't have to worry about him coming. He was actually there early. We talked about it, what I want done with it, he was saying it can be done but it's going to be more expensive than if he took out the whole thing and put a new one in. He doesn't do that but he did know some people who did. He was very pleasant and extremely informative. What I want, it was $3500 and I said I'm not going to get that back when I sell my house later this year. And I told him that, and he said "I don't blame you!" There were no hard feelings of me having wasted his time by coming out. I liked him.

Professional, courteous and met all time frames. The crew exceeded our expectations in every domain. Assisted us with the design and layout of our patio. After being extremely pleased with the concrete, we also had Thompson's help us design and finish our outdoor fireplace. The professional mason worked diligently to create a beautiful and well-designed natural stone outdoor fireplace that was perfectly in harmony with our two indoor fireplaces and the exterior design of our home.

Bottom line he advised me not spend any money with him or any other company as it would not achieve the results I was looking for.

It was the best service I have ever got; I do not think there is anything he can improve upon. He went above and beyond. What he charged me was one thing but he added a lot of things that he did not have to do. The person that helped him worked really hard. They were really nice people. He gave me a good price on it.

Gary was prompt with his estimate and informed me on the narrowing window of time I had for this project. He went through all the details with me. After I called for the work to be done, he let me know approximately when he would be able to do the work. He called me when it got close and when he was coming. The stoop, steps and sidewalk were removed and replaced in two days. He also suggested a curve to the sidewalk instead of the original path which I really like. He brought in some topsoil and filled in where I had had some trees and bushes removed earlier. I would definitely call Gary again if I needed any further work done.

We hired Thompson Construction to replace the sidewalk along side our house from the city sidewalk to the alley. Gary and his crew completed the job quickly with great results. Removing the old sidewalk proved to be a very labor intensive job because there wasn't enough room to use machinery and there were other obstacles to work around. The guys did a great job, communicated with me and delivered as promised. Gary also replaced my next door neighbors garage floor and rebuilt her leaning garage as he was working on my sidewalk. The results were fantastic, even cleaning up afterwards and filling in dug out areas with top soil. The concrete mix that Gary used was a seven bag mix as opposed to a six bag mix that the other contractors were going to use. This will give us a stronger sidewalk and garage floor. I would highly recommend Thompson Construction.
