Overall, we're satisfied. We've considered switching to another service because the price is expensive (nearly $200 per clean for our 3200 sq ft house) and they don't come at the same time for each clean (although they come on the same day). On occasion, they have broken something minor but always replaced the item. But they have been trustworthy over the years and do a nice job with the cleanings.
Description of Work: I've used The Maids for several years to clean my home every other week.

I think they were off Angie's List. The quality of their work could have been a little better. They were missing a little on some things that needed to be done. I personally thought that the work was great, but my wife came by with her white gloves afterwards and said "they missed this".
Description of Work: I used The Maids for housecleaning. They just cleaned the whole house.

Cleaning was ok, but there was an issue every time they were scheduled. They never once came when they were supposed to and would want to show up at dinner time-even though I had hired them for am cleaning. I had cleaning delayed over a week one time because i refused to let them come disrupt dinner time-I have three kids so-that is not an option. I also have a very hyper dog, who doesn't like cleaning noises. So he has to be left in our basement when they come. I can't leave him all day. I made arrangements that i was the first clean of the day and then I could come home at lunch and let the dog out. But they keep changing the time. Today it was changed to 11-1. So I came home and waited and waited and they never showed. They called at 1:30 and said they'd be there between 2:30 and 3. (which means they'd probably get there by 4 from past experience). If they come that last-it's right when the kids are getting home. I tried to call the office and the messages were full. Even if i get someone one the phone, you have to explain over and over again, because they don't speak good eneough English. It is very frustrating. if I need to talk to someone at my home when they are there, there is supposed to be one person on the team that can talk with me-but it's not good. Today, is Mother's day weekend and I had guests coming in. It is now 2 and now I have to clean the house! I am not happy. I have only been with them 4 weeks. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt-but they can't get their act together. Don't hire them!
Description of Work: I hired The Maids to start cleaning my house every other week. My house is about 3400 square feet, 3 1/2 baths. I was charged substancially more for the initial cleaning. Lately I was charged 174, but that was with a discount. I think it was to go up.

The Maids 5-29-12 Our initial deep clean does take longer as we damp wipe all woodwork, heating vents, pick up all items on table tops (dusting items) as well as left to right, vacuuming high with extenders from where the ceiling meets the wall (ceiling fans, blinds, as well as under all furniture, beds, floors, and upholstery) that we bill hourly for a professional team of four. We then maintain all of these areas on a regular basis. The member hired The Maids to clean Wednesdays before 3:00 every other Wednesday. After following up; the member was very happy with our initial deep clean on 2-28. We agreed every other week on Wednesdays and our clean rate was 174. for a team of four. We also applied a 100. Coupon (50. on the first, 25. on the third, and 25. on the fifth cleans) with a commitment of regular service. Due to the member’s travel schedule she could not do 3-14, so we went to 3-22 three weeks out. The Maids Services weekly or bi-weekly with the benefit of having the same team as well as accommodating busy Client schedules. The Maids gives a courtesy call the day before our scheduled clean with a two hour arrival time. Upon looking at our route card agenda paper work for scheduled cleans on 3-22, 4-11, and 4-27 our team arrived within the two hour time of arrival. We then agreed to servicing the member on Fridays 4-27 and then 5-11. On 5-11 our assistant team leader became ill and for the rest of the day the team operated as a three member team vs. a four. Our supervisor gave the member a call at 1:30 behind stating they would arrive between 2:30 to 3:00. The member shared forget the clean as her company was coming at 5:00. We received the member’s email stating to forget the clean today. I called the member and apologized sharing our situation about being behind with our three member team. I shared our team would have her clean accomplished before her company arrived, she said forget it. Our bilingual operating manager called the member at 2:30 sharing that our team was by her home and we would do the clean complimentary. The member choose not to have us clean. We wished the member and her family the best.

The first clean was really really good. They did a very thorough job and delivered exactly what they promised. Unfortunately they were not able to consistently deliver on their promises. The owners Sue and Pete were very unresponsive to both emails and phone messages as well as returning calls in a timely manner. Two out of 4 times they called me the day before what they believed was my scheduled clean date (however we had exchanged emails prior to both of those dates confirming different dates - so they never made changes in their master schedule based on confirmed email changes). For the 5 times that they cleaned my house, I never had all of the same people (even though they say that they try to have the same team come each time or at least a team leader. Only 1 of the staff members (sometimes as a lead and sometimes not as a lead) was at my house all 5 times. Their 22 step healthy touch deep cleaning process was NOT used each time, as I had items that were either not wiped down, not dusted, or not vacuumed each of the 4 subsequent cleans. Overall I feel that they talk a good talk, but do not walk the walk. I also had an incident happen where $54 was found missing from my wallet yesterday after they left and thus far the owner has not apologized, or even called me back to tell me if she was able to find out any information. I have never put a bad review out in public before however in this case I felt that I had to let others know about my experience.

I called to get a quote and the man who answered the phone said that he wasn't the one to talk to, that his wife would call me back (I found this unprofessional). When his wife did call me back, she seemed thorough in asking for the information she would need to provide a quote. However, it was after hours and she said she didn't have access to her calendar so she could not schedule anything. She promised to call me back the next business day but did not. When I called her two business days later, she seemed to have forgotten that we had spoken previously. After indicating that a team would not be available on the day requested, she did call back to say that she was able to accommodate my request. She indicated that the team would call 20-30 minutes before they planned to arrive. They called within 10 minutes of when they planned to arrive, but they were on time. The team completed most of the rooms but not all. We were disappointed in the quality of cleaning in some areas, including baseboards and walls. Overall, we were satisfied but not impressed.
Description of Work: Deep clean of our entire home. Most of the items in the confirmation letter were completed, but we were disappointed with the dirt still found in window tracks (especially the sliding glass doors) and the white build-up left on the bathroom floor. The team left at the appointed end time, but that meant leaving two rooms and several windows uncleaned. The confirmation letter described the following: "Kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts are washed. The countertops, sink and inside kitchen window are cleaned. We will clean the outside of all appliances (inside microwave). All baseboards, door frames, windowsills and ledges are cleaned. We will vacuum the kitchen floor and wash it on our hands and knees. Also, included is washing the table and chairs and cleaning the inside and outside of sliding glass doors. Area rugs are vacuumed and replaced. Bathroom cleaning includes scrubbing the shower, cleaning and disinfecting the tub, shower and toilet and washing the fronts of cabinets and drawers. We will clean the counter top, mirror and vanity area and all baseboards, windowsills, door and window frames. Also, we will clean and disinfect bathroom floors on our hands and knees. Dusting includes all furniture. We also damp wipe accessible baseboards, door and window casings, window sills, ledges and shadow boxes throughout your home. We clean and disinfect stairway banisters (railings), doorknobs and light plates. Pictures and wall hangings are also dusted. Vacuuming is done by our state of the art backpack vacuum which allows us to clean in hard to reach area. We tour the home twice while vacuuming. First we edge where the walls and floors meet, vacuum furniture including under cushions, high vacuum where the ceiling and walls meet, and remove cobwebs from corners. We also vacuum mini blinds, window tracks and all hard surface floors. We tour the home a second time and vacuum the rest of each room after the edging is complete. All hard surface floors are eged and vacuumed before being washed on our hands and knees. We come equipped with high dusters and extension poles for vacuuming vaulted ceiling areas."

Met with 2 services for estimates. Initially chose another service because they were much less expensive, documentation was very complete about the weekly rotation, but their work was not good. So I let them go and called The Maids. I was confused a few times about the rotation and the cost, that's one piece of feed back I've given Sue, to document it better for her customers. The Maids has been cleaning my house for a few months now and does a pretty good job. Sometimes some details are missed but I can feel comfortable letting Sue know. When I've had concerns, she's been very good about trying to resolve them. The Maids has been flexible to meet my needs.
