It was good. He was honest, clean and did the job.

I called Dave's Appliance Service because my washer seemed to have broken in the midst of a load for one of my college kid.. I heard a clink, at the end of the last load washed, and found a couple of metal pieces under the washer. When I phoned, it was Thursday, of the Labor Day weekend. The receptionist was very nice and got me on the schedule for Tuesday, the day after Labor Day. I was very pleased to get on the schedule right after the holiday. When the repairman arrived, he looked at the pieces I found and informed me that one - a metal pin - was just an old bit of packing material, that must have been caught in the inner corner ledge at the bottom of the washer frame. Said he sees them a lot and it's just garbage. Appreciated the honesty! The other piece, however, was a spring that holds the inner basket to the frame. It had popped loose and just needed to be put back into place. It looked broken to me, but I was told it was just fine to put back in. And so, he replaced the spring and ran a check on the washer before he left. The next day, after running a load, I again heard a clink. I found the same spring piece on the floor. Called Dave's, and again, the receptionist was very nice and told me the same repairman would come the next morning to fix the problem. He arrived on time, replaced the spring, and then physically manipulated the washer basket to make sure the spring was secure. He said it was the first time he's seen a spring pop loose twice within such a short period. When i asked if I should have him replace it he assured me that it was not necessary, and it would probably be costly to find one to fit my washer, as well. Very pleased, again, with his honesty! Since the second visit, the washer has been working just fine. With my Angie's coupon, the trip charge and labor was $80. That's less than some other companies trip charges. I've already recommended Dave's to a few friends looking for large appliance repair.

I called to set the appt on a Friday and they were out by me on Monday. I tired others and was waiting forever just to hear back from them. They came out and within an hour our problem was fixed. Not only that but they found a potential fire hazard and also fixed that problem. I can now use my gas oven again just in time for Thanksgiviing dinner. They saved the Holiday and potentially our house/lives. Thank you!

I called last night at 5:30 about problems with a refrigerator and dishwasher. Initially the person on the phone Scott arrived at 8:30 this morning. He knew what he was doing, finished work quickly, answered questions.

Everything was great and we will be using their services in the future.

Job was completed and washer was working properly.

They showed up promptly at the appointed time and had professional work ethics. I was satisfied with the work that was requested. He checked for any gas leaks prior to leaving. He also offered a 10% discount for being an Angie's List customer. Had I known about the services he performs, I would have hired him earlier on and avoided ongoing problems with my gas burners.

It worked out fine; they responded quickly.

It was fabulous. We were very happy with their service and we've had no problems with the stove since.

Caveat emptor! Let the buyer beware! Normally, I would have completed this repair myself, but since my wife is now disabled, time is at a premium for me. After looking on Angie's list, I narrowed down my selection to Dave's, in part, because he was closest to my home. Everything went very smoothly: I called that afternoon, got an appointment for the next day, and Scott arrived on time. He completed the work, and was finished within one half hour. The dryer now is operating as it should. However, when I asked Scott about the cost of the replacement part ($80.10) he stated that this make and model had a higher cost. He left the box the part came in in my basement, so I later googled the part number. I discovered that the price for this part online ranged from $26.00 to $42.00. These prices were for a new part, and most vendors offered free shipping! The rest of the cost reflected $39.95 for a trip charge, a 'flat fee' for the installation of $70.00, and $9.52 for sales tax. The total price also reflected a $20.00 coupon from Angie's list, otherwise, the final cost would have been higher. Again, the service was great, but the overall cost was excessive. I realize that making a profit is the goal of every small business, but inflating the cost of a part by nearly 100% seems unethical. I'd rather pay an hourly rate for a service, rather than a flat fee. In this case, Dave's flat fee amounted to a $140.00 per hour charge. When contracting for a dryer repair, a consumer should ask about all the possible costs: parts, labor and trip charges. If the dryer is not heating, generally it will need a new heating element or a thermostat. These prices can be found onine. The one time I did not do my homework (checking for the possible cost of parts and asking for flat rate charges), I ended up paying the price!

Our broken washing machine was diagnosed in minutes, on the same day we called. It needed a new internal computer. Our repairman explained the options (whether it would be worth it to spend the money replacing the part vs. buying a new washer). We chose to replace it, and he was back the next day and done in 10 minutes. Our washer is busy washing clothes again in 2 days!

I contacted Dave's Appliance Service regarding a leaking washer. Dave diagnosed the problem as too much buildup of soap, and sold me 2 tables for $8 each, which he told me would solve the problem. The total service charges were $110, and the washer still leaked. He made no attempt to diagnose the actual problem. I requested a refund in writing and received no response. I would never recommend this firm to anyone.

My call was taken by a very nice scheduler, and we set up the appointment for a time that I'd be home in a few days. On the morning of the appointment, I received a call with an apology that the repairman might be just a few minutes late (which would not have been a problem), but he actually turned up within the window we had set up. The work was done quickly and efficiently (less than an hour) , and I found out that my 'fridge is not 10, as I thought, but 18 years old. I will definitely call them again if/when I have any problem with an appliance.

I wasn't home when the work was performed, but he came out once to determine the problem, had to order a part, and returned 2 days later for the repair. Lisa was very helpful on the phone and answered some other freezer related questions for me. The problem appears to be fixed and it was done in a timely fashion for a reasonable price.As a side note, their hours on Angie's List show Sat and Sun hours, but I called on a Fri night when we first noticed the problem and I didn't get a call back until 7:15 am on Mon, so it appears they don't really have weekend hours. (Unless maybe scheduled in advance?)

Our refrigerator failed on a hot summer day. We discovered the problem at 8:00 in the evening. I first called Sears and was told it would be 5 days before a technician could make a service call. I called Dave's Appliance & Repair at 8:45, left a voice mail, and received a call back 5 minutes later. The scheduler added me to the next morning's appointments and promised to call between 7 and 9 am, when the repairman was on the way. I received a call at 8 am the next morning, and Scott arrived 10 minutes later. He was polite, pleasant and professional. Scott checked for a few possible problems, and discovered a faulty thermostat, which he showed me. He installed a new one on the spot and made sure the refrigerator was working normally before leaving.

Set up an appointment with a friendly and helpful office person. She switched an appointment with another client to accommodate my schedule. Scott came to do the repair on time. He is very professional and experienced. Communicates well. He tested our dryer to isolate the problem. After mentioning a small issue with our clothes washing machine, he even ran a quick test at the same time. He had the dryer replacement part in his truck - the office person asked the make and model when I called to make the appointment which probably helps too.

The service was very good. They were very professional, honest, and prompt. If I need an appliance repair company in the future I would definitely use them. The price was way better than a competitors estimate.

I called Dave's Appliance, and spoke to a very nice woman who answered my questions, and got me set up for a service call. Scott came out and checked my dishwasher over and found something lodged in the flexible drain tube. Overall working with Dave's Appliance was wonderful! They are all great to work with... very understanding, accommodating, and polite. I would definitely use them again!
