 + 3 moreEverything went like clock work. Kelly lined the contractors up and everyone worked together and got the job done in a timely manner. His prices were a little more then others who quoted, but we felt Kelly had the background knowledge to make the project come out correctly and it looks great! His expertise was worth the extra cost. Very satisfied with the end result and would recommend him to anyone needing any home improvements.

 + -1 moreThe contractor was very prompt in getting back to me when I called and worked an estimate into his schedule for that same day. He showed up on time, gave a great estimate and explained everything very well. He fit the project into his schedule for the following week and was flexible when I needed to change that time last minute. On the scheduled day he came on time and got right to work despite the very cold temps outside. He worked very efficiently and got the whole job done in a very reasonable amount of time. He charged exactly what he estimated and there were no hidden fees. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor. I'm very pleased!

 + 0 moreWe did walk away from the property and, with Kelly's advise, we have been able to better focus our search for a new home. What we valued the most about Mr. McCarthy's service was that he was honest with us from the beginning. He did not string us along thinking we might be able to do such a large project.
Description of Work: We asked Mr. McCarthy to evaluate a home we were considering purchasing. He was courteous and prompt. He advised us not to purchase. In fact, he told us to "Run far. Run fast and don't look back." In this case, the value was in telling us what was not realistic and that the project we were looking to take on was not reasonable.

Description of Work: Services Provided Thus Far: |First floor and basement windows, chimney removal & roof repair, complete electrical rework, interior carpentry, siding installation on back of house, partial sheetrock work & complete plastering, oil to natural gas furnace, soffit on front of house, maintenance free trim going around top of house, recommendations on dozens of things. | |Most Notable Qualities: |1.) Follows through on work. I've dealt with several companies that didn't show up at all for estimates and got the typical "oh, I'm sooo busy - working sooo many hours" line of BS that no paying customer wants to hear. Does your boss at work want to hear that you were late because you were so busy at your other job? | |2.) Extremely punctual. There were several times that he beat me out to the jobsite and had to wait for me to show up. | |3.) Detailed estimates. The cost of the work is pretty clearly broken out. | |4.) Friendly personality. He doesn't mine talking with you for a while, whereas some contractors just care about getting in/out as quick as possible. I'm sure he has other things to do, but if someone rushes away it leads you to think they are going to forget things.

 + 4 moreHaving a tornado hit your home is a terrifying experience, in more ways than one. After the initial horror of the tornado passed, a new terrifying task awaited me... dealing with the insurance company. Kelly met with the insurance adjuster with me, and went to bat for me with the insurance company to make sure that they were covering everything that they should! He wouldn't settle for anything less than quality work on the re-build. Kelly stayed in contact with me throughout the project, and was there to make sure I understood everything that was going on. They did excellent work, and I am happy to say that I hired them instead of some "storm-chaser." I highly recommend Kelly McCarthy Builders!
Description of Work: After the tornado hit my house, I needed a complete new roof, siding repair and replacement, new gutters, new soffet and fascia, outdoor stain applied to the entire house, a new door, and more. Kelly McCarthy Builders took care of it all.
