Ganser Co Inc

We needed to replace our deck. It was old and dangerous, there was a place where there was no railing and a 10 foot drop into rocks and bushes. We requested 3 bids. I wanted to go with Ganser because I heard they were the Cadillac of home improvement companies while my wife wanted to go with whoever sent in the middle bid. I was negotiating with her that if Ganser wasn't too much more expensive than the 2nd highest bid, we should go with them. No need. Ganser came in as the 2nd highest, and closer to the lowest than the highest bid. We signed the contract. Before they started, they talked to my wife and asked her how she prefers they work, specifically are there things she does not want them to do. They also came up with a few designs since they could not reproduce the original deck. They worked with us to take the one we liked the best and modify it to what we wanted. They started and their work was top notch. All materials from the old deck were immediately removed. They kept the work site clean and organized. They were pleasant with my wife. And they worked hard. After a few days, they finished our deck. It was safe, it had built in seating, and it was beautiful. I was delighted. More important, my wife was delighted.

Each project was different. As a woman, I particularly appreciated the respectful tone from the professionals at Ganser - they treated me as if I have a working brain. I always felt confident that the workmanship would be top drawer and that the results would last for many years. I have not been disappointed.

They were fantastic. They were on time and especially meticulous when it came to cleaning up after themselves. They have a lot of integrity and stand behind what they do. They installed a roof vent fan for me and I called because I thought something was wrong. They came out and saw it was defective. They got a new one installed in days days and at no further cost for me. They are not cheapest in town, but I had learned the hard way that some roofing companies are fly by night, so this is worth it. People will be satisfied.

I give this company a solid B/B+. They did the work (took about a week) and it does look nice, however the entire project was rather disjointed. We felt like we could not have left them to do this without supervision, because there were a lot of questions by the various workmen that they should have known the answer to. Also, there were many hours when one team had left and we didn't know if someone else was going to come or not, so we couldn't leave the house as much as we wanted to. The dumpster that they left in our driveway stayed over 2 days even though they promised it's be there a day, at most. Overall, it got done on time, and we've used this company again for attic insulation and roof repair and we're pleased with the results. However if your project contains multiple different teams, they are loose with their timing and do not communicate as much as I wish they would.

From start to finish I could not have asked for better. Mark was my salesperson. First call to appointment for him to come out was a day or two at most. He understood exactly what I wanted to do (replace 7 windows, not the whole house), and did not push additional product. I described what I was looking for and he gave me choices. I did not need to visit the salesroom to look at options as he had information on the Marvin Infinity windows that I ultimately decided upon. Half down to order and the rest when done. The windows came in on schedule and I was called to set up the install. The two installers were great. The team leader, Trooper (and I am sorry that I do not remember the other's name) came when expected, did outstanding work, and left not a dust speck at the end of either day of working. Nice guys too. Trusted them to do the work when I was not home the second day. They even made sure that the dumpster put into my driveway for waste had wood put under the and quot;feetand quot;, to not leave divots in the driveway (something my roofer did not, which is why I had divots that he noticed). The install went perfectly and my windows are perfect. Finish work and my window treatments were rehung. Mark came back to do final inspection and I paid the balance. There were no additional or unexpected charges. I can recommend without hesitation and with praise. So much so that I am now going to do more windows.

The salesperson did not seem knowledgeable about basic product information or building codes relating to windows. We found out from the president who was at the contract writing that there could be one color of trim inside and a different one outside and that the window the salesperson had for the egress window would not meet code. We started the process in September /October, looking to get the energy credit. There were delays in getting the product, but the windows did get in before end of year. However, the installation was botched. We found out that Ganser had used a sub-contractor - one that they had never used before - even though they advertise that they never use subcontractors. The workers hadn’t put any insulation on the windows, they had just applied clear caulk and their finishing work was atrocious. Ganser had someone come out and fix the installation. The windows had to be wrapped which created a ledge on the outside – the ledges were damaged in the hail storm we had a few weeks later. I called and asked specifically for the president. They took a message, but had someone else talk with us and they never really followed up to see that we were satisfied with the work done. There were things they could have done to avoid our being incredibly dissatisfied with their company: If they weren’t able to install it themselves on time, they could have given us the credit and done the work after the end of the year. With the magnitude of the screw-up, there should have been much more follow-up to make sure that we were comfortable with their product and the installation. We will never feel comfortable with this purchase and won’t feel that our windows are installed correctly.

We cannot say enough good things about the company's product and employees and would definitely recommend them for roofing jobs!

It was a short contract online and it was a quick response.

Most of my experience with Ganser has been excellent. The roofing job on my sunporch was excellent. They were very timely, had very curteous workers. Finished promptly. They put on gutter guards for me - did an excellent job. Were very thorough in explaining the type they install, upkeep; even gave an extendable brush for cleaning. I had leaking skylights in my sunporch. Tim and Glen were excellent. They had to come back a couple times to finally find the leak, but were great to work with. Very courteous. Explained everything they were checking and what they did to fix the problems. My current project with Ganser is my kitchen remodel. The work to this point has been excellent. Mark gave great recommendations for a new window in the kitchen! We love it - so much better than our previous window. They have been very thorough in the work done, always making sure to protect the countertops and other belongings in the area; always cleaning up after they are done. Subcontractors - especially electrician was awesome. The only downside has been the communication from the designer, Trish. I have had to call several times after not hearing back from her for long time periods. Also had to find out from subcontractors when the different work-man were coming. The project was started in June and still is not done. The actual work is excellent, but taking a long time to get everything completed and I feel like some of this is related to organization on Trish's part. I would still definitely recommend Ganser, as I feel the quality of the workmanship is excellent.

We found Ganser the first time because they were the nearest vendor of the window brand we had selected -- Marvin Infinity. After checking out some references that Ganser provided (which serendipitously included a professional acquaintance of ours), we chose Ganser to replace 20 window units. Matt Winterberg, the estimator, made an initial visit to take rough measurements and discuss window styles and options. We had a combination of double-hung and casement windows, and opted in one case to switch from a pair of casements to a and quot;sliderand quot; unit. Matt took copious notes of all of our discussions. A day or so later, he e-mailed the estimate; we also received a printed copy via regular mail. Before giving final approval for the job, we wanted to operate each of the window types. We also had some questions about specific window features, so we made an appointment to meet Matt at Ganser's well-appointed showroom. In addition to having displays of all of their window offerings, including some very interesting shapes and styles, they are also set up to show doors, siding and roofing, as they do a full range of remodeling work beyond just windows. Matt showed us our specific window styles, we confirmed color choices from tangible samples, and then went line-by-line through the detailed specification. We do recommend being vigilant during this process, including making sure that everyone is working from the same and quot;finaland quot; copy of the spec, especially if you have made any edits over the phone or via e-mail. We caught a couple of discrepancies in the details during this review. The next step was a second visit to our home, where they took the final, precise measurements that would drive the actual order. The time from order placement to arrival at Ganser's shop was around four or five weeks, plus another week for custom staining on some of the windows to match existing woodwork. (The staining was done on windows we had selected with Marvin's and quot;Everwoodand quot; finish, which really does look like wood. Ganser offered us a selection of around 30 stains, and we had no trouble matching our existing woodwork.) For the installation itself, we had Jim Vanderlip and his crew. We had requested Jim, based on a recommendation from our aforementioned acquaintance, and we were not disappointed. Jim and crew were very conscientious from start to finish, including taking the time to place hospital-style booties over their work boots, to avoid tracking dirt through the house. Despite some challenging weather, the installation took very close to the three days that they had estimated. For the second set of windows (different house), we knew what to expect from both Marvin and Ganser, but we decided to get a competitive estimate and quot;just to be sureand quot;. Ganser beat the competition on price, so there was absolutely nothing to stand in the way of giving Ganser the green light for another installation. Our experience with the second installation was every bit as good as the first. We requested Jim (again), and are delighted with his results. One of the last windows they installed this time was in the basement, and Jim had some concerns about the grade outside, and the possibility that water might drain directly onto the window during a heavy rain, causing eventual problems. He suggested that a shallow window well be installed; Ganser management approved it, and Jim and crew installed the window well at no additional cost to us. We had great experiences with both of our Marvin/Ganser window installations. The windows themselves are great, and we know that Ganser is there to back up their work. We have had two service incidents to-date, and Ganser promptly sent out a technician to evaluate and correct the problems in both cases.

Called Ganser to get a quote on a replacement patio door. A sales rep was able to come out a few days after the initial inquiry and take a look. Ganser offers Marvin patio doors. During our consultation the sales rep explained some of advantages of fiberglass. He was very friendly, but Ganser's and quot;pitchand quot; is not terribly straight forward. We were offered a $50 discount for each satisfied Ganser customer were were able to contact while the sales rep put together our quote (for a maximum of $300). Additionally, Ganser offered a $200 discount if we placed an order during the initial consultation. Sales rep didn't seem keen on offering less expensive options (moving down from the top-of-line product, or a non-custom order). At $4,000, it was the highest of 6 quotes we received for the door (average of about $3,500). We went in another direction, with a company the provided a straight forward quote without any pressure to make a decision on the spot. We'll certainly provide Ganser opportunities in the future to bid for home improvement jobs. Hopefully, they will make some modifications to their sales pitch.

Over all went well. Workmanship was very good. Good product. The fihish stain did not match adjacent exisiting window very well. Ganser was unable to correct. However, in doing my own research I find therre are things that can be done.

Would not recommend based on overinflated price.

Start to finish, it was a great experience with the Ganser Company. Marc Ganser was a pleasure to work with, and very educational to us with respect to all the decisions within the process. We would definitely use the Ganser Company again.

The installers Lance and Ray were fast and professional. There was a wait for the materials but the results were worth it. The light provided by the sun tunnels is amazing. Best of all my wife is very happy.

Most everything was great. The free estimate was scheduled the same week as our initial phone call. Mark was very personable and provided us with several options for fixing the problems we wanted addressed. The workers arrived and finished on time, even after fixing hidden water damage that was discovered after the shingles were removed. Our left property clean and tidy. We only have one complaint: Mark explained that someone would be calling us with the work start date which would be scheduled for 2-3 weeks from the day the contract was signed. I ended up calling 23 days later because we hadn't heard from anyone yet. I left a message and had to call again 2 days later as no one returned my call. After that I was given several updates by phone, and the people I spoke with were always very helpful.

Initial contact with salesperson, Anthony Mollner, who came to our house and evaluated situation. Then we went to Ganser Co. showroom and Tony showed us the options that we could use. He reviewed the pros and cons of the different products.We then were able to make an informed decision on Infinity windows and finalized contract. He was prompt, smart and very friendly. Ganser staff then came to the house for final measurements and the windows were ordered. When they arrived, arrangements were promptly made to do the installation. The 2 man Ganser crew arrived on the appointed day and quickly did the installations, staining and trim work. Upon completion they did an great job of cleaning everything up. The foreman, Trooper Moffet, then reviewed everything with me and noted the screen was a bit tight causing some bowing of the screen door. Plan was to rescreen the door. Anthony Mollner came back to insure that everything was done to our specifications and will make sure the screen door is fixed. I was very happy with our experience with the Ganser Company staff, products and the installation quality. Thank you.

Roofing project estimate and explanations and scheduling were performed with promptness, courtesy and consistent, timely communication. Roof replacement was performed on home, studio and out building in 5 days while working with solar contractor to interface with a new solar PV installation. The roofing team discussed with the solar team, and coordinated all their work with the the solar contractor in a very professional and seamless project. absolutely not a single nail was found anywhere. The cleanup was the most conscientious we've experienced and they protected our gardens wonderfully. Absolutely the best roofing installation we've experienced and we've replaced 4 roofs in various homes and vacation homes we've owned in over 30 years. Ganser is a team of great professionals!

Our first meeting with Ganser Company was in the comfort of our own home. We met with Mark Ganser. He asked us what we wanted to accomplish with our window project and gave us an overview of their products and services. He answered all of our questions which made us feel at ease with the whole process.The next step was our meeting at their showroom where Mark very expertly gave a detailed presentation of their product line, the history of their company, the history of the Marvin Window Company and the different product/pricing options. He was also very flexible so as to adjust to our needs and budget concerns. Mark is a very friendly professional to work with.Our workers, Trooper and Jake, came on time for the installation of our new windows and completed their work assignment ahead of schedule. They are true craftsmen at their trade and both were very professional and courteous. Trooper gave us updates on their progress, as he and Jake worked through the day. We appreciated the care and concern shown by them both. They made a great team and should be complimented by management.They also cleaned up the construction site and the work was well done.Mark came back to our home 2 weeks after after the window installation had been completed and reviewed the window warranties with us, tips on how to clean the glass, a hands-on demonstration on how to tilt the double hung windows (for cleaning the glass), how to remove them and re-install properly, along with our owner's manual for our new Infinity Fiberglass Replacement Windows from Marvin. Throughout the entire process, Mark emphasized the importance of both my husband and I to be present at all of our meetings with him. We felt it was very important to receive this information together because that meant both of us had all of the same great information and that made the decision making much easier! Mark made us feel at ease right from the start and he reminded us at all of our meetings that he was always accessible whenever we needed him. At our last meeting, he reassured us that Ganser's service does not stop when the windows are in, that if needed, we may call Mark with any possible problems and/or questions. We want to take this opportunity to thank Mark, Trooper and Jake for a job well done! We also want to thank their workers who worked on the staining of the window casings, sash and trim. My husband is a woodworker and he (and I) were very pleased with the quality of their work. We highly recommend them!.

We bought a 19 year old house that needed a new roof. We got multiple quotes for a complete roof replacement and to upgrade the vents and skylights. Ganser's sales representative was very knowledgeable and instead of trying to sell us every upgrade he offered a few options and let us choose what we liked. We never felt pressured at any point. The work was done quickly once a date was set, there were no complications and they worked around our schedules to complete the finishing work. The Ganser crew cleaned up well and even ran a large magnet through the area around the house to pick up as many loose nails as they could find. It didn't get them all but I didn't have to spend hours picking up the extras. We were so happy with the work on the roof that we hired them to replace all of the windows on our second floor. We had old wooden casements that would freeze up with ice in the winter and held so much moisture that they started to grow mold. We had multiple quotes but still settled on Ganser because they offered the best product we could find at about the same cost as other top products on the market. We choose fiberglass double hung windows for all of the rooms and they fit so well that you think they were installed when the house was built. The ordering took a while with the windows because they are all made to order but I didn't mind. The work crew finished the job in one day and completed it so fast it didn't seem like they were here at all. We are very excited about the new windows and plan on using Ganser to replace windows in the rest of the house. I would highly recommend taking a look at Ganser for any home improvements. They are not the cheapest or most expensive company but they offer wonderful products and do great work.

The roofs on the house and garage were damaged in a hailstorm. I researched at least ten roofing companies and asked friends and neighbors who were the reputable roofers. I learned that you have to take it very seriously to get a good roof, because water problems can happen silently over time. I finally chose GANSER to work with because they have a great reputation and MARC GANSER was WONDERFUL to work with. Marc helped me get all the right information to the insurance company so we could get the job done. Marc was A+++ first-rate. His grandfather started the company and his brother is the CEO. They showed me a total commitment to excellence. The crew came out in and quot;summer in Marchand quot; and tore off the old roof and replaced both roofs with heavy felt and ice shield and I upgraded to architectural shingles. They were on time, they were hard working, courteous, cleaned up the site, and respectful and responsive to questions. JAKE was the foreman and he was on top of the whole job, available to answer any concerns. Thay got it done in two days. The whole experience was just first-rate.They also replaced the gutters I already had and re-installed them PROPERLY and they are JUST AWESOME now. They also replaced some damaged wood on the garage. Everything was done well. My neighbor's house is taller than mine, and his grandson wanted to watch the work. My neighbor told me later that he saw the guys putting down caulk underneath, where no one would ever know if they had done it right or not, and doing everything RIGHT. He said he looked for the good and the bad, but and quot;ALL I SAW WAS GOOD.and quot; I would definitely work with GANSER again. GANSER took quality and excellence seriously and they kept their word at every point in the process. It was A+ all the way. I recommend GANSER wholeheartedly.

Ganser's workmen were universally hard-working and polite, and they did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day and at the end of each job. We can feel the difference with the improved insulation in our home, and our roof and deck look amazing. Our experiences with Ganser have been positive from start to finish, and we would not hesitate to recommend Ganser to anyone.

From start to finish, the Ganser Company has performed great services for us. They are efficient and really take care to make sure their customers are completely satisfied. Everyone there made these experiences stress free. I recommended them to my neighbor, and although she was getting estimates from other companies, she choose Ganser because she was quite impressed with them and the products they use. I continue to recommend the Ganser Company because they are trustworthy, experienced, and thorough. I also like the fact they are a family owned, local company.

Stage 1 was done well and to all contractual specifications. On Stage 2, I had to correct some framing. Stage 3 was inadequate, with the exception of the kitchen window on which I oversaw materials myself. The provider did not use the correct oak casing as agreed, jambs are rough; and stain color is wrong. Communication was extremely difficult and many follow ups were required to get information or know about scheduling. Rating and recommendation are based primarily on stage 3 problems and experience

The system was installed in a timely fashion. When there were issues fine tuning the system, Marc personally came out to make adjustments, even on weekends. When we wanted to make changes to the system that would make it more convenient for us, Marc responded promptly and found a way to meet our needs. I would recommend Ganser Company without hesitation.
