XL Contracting

The process was simple and straightforward. No issue with receiving estimate, having work done, or insurance payments. Was surprised how quickly the job was done; in around 6:30am and cleaned up by 1:00pm. They do use exclusive subcontractors, but out of the 4 estimates, only 1 claimed to use their own staff. Sales pitch was fine with no pressure; communication was good, no reason not to hire them again if needed. One minor gripe that didn't impact the outcome of their results was either a misunderstanding or miscommunication regarding a supervisor being on site. I was expecting a supervisor to introduce him/herself and let me know when cleanup was done and they were leaving.

I was most impressed with how hard everyone worked. It was like watching a well oiled machine. Everyone knew exactly where and what to do. Our rep John was constantly on top of everything at every step of the job. We had a few delays and waited through winter to get the work done, but he would check in every few weeks to make sure we were holding up. Thank you. After a few rain delays, the crew was finally able to tear the roof off. By lunch the roof was off and covered again with the underlayment. The shingle truck loaded the roof and the guys were over half shingled by sundown. The next day when I came home from work, I swear they were never there. One of my downspouts was damaged. I didn't realized it was crushed until John came out with a new one to fix it. I never had a new roof before and this was way easier than I expected.

We have an older rental that has been updated, with additions added over several decades.  There were many problem spots where the roof leaked at adjoining areas and down a cavity where an old chimney used to be.  XL repaired areas where the leaks were originating and reshingled the roof.
XL responded quickly to our calls/emails and we are very satisfied with the work.  No more complaints about leaks from our tenants.
