Walgenmeyer's Carpet & Tile

My elderly neighbor called in a panic because her handy man walked off the job and left her hanging with her floor project. I sent a request thru Angie's List on her behalf and she received a phone call later the same day. Jeremiah showed up the next day and completed the project to her satisfaction. I got a thank you call from my neighbor saying that "....(Jeremiah) did a beautiful job on my kitchen, dining and bathroom floor." "Thank you for putting me in touch with (Walgenmeyer's) as it looks really really nice and I'm really really happy."

We can’t say enough good things about Walgenmeyer’s! We did our whole house with ceramic tile. The owner, Erik, helped us find the perfect southwestern tile for our house. This company is nothing short of a pleasure to work with. I was so pleased with the whole procedure and my floors look AMAZING!!! It was beyond a wonderful experience. It was sit back and let Walgenmeyer’s do the driving!!!!

Very well. Our kitchen is a little more challenging because of all the angles, but Jerry, our installer, was very meticulous and did an excellent job. Because of some of the issues with our old flooring, they had to reschedule and were very accommodating in meeting our needs. The price was reasonable and we highly recommend Walgenmeyer's.

They whole experience was great.

I needed some carpet re-stretched on our second floor (I believe due to poor original install). I sent them a message and they responded right away. I sent them pic's and they got me a quote the next day (so that saved me from having to have them come out for an estimate). The job was finished by the end of the week. They were very prompt and professional and did a great job. They called to let me know when they would arriving. I even added a small job (couple steps) to the job that I noticed the night before and they did that too. Final bill came under what they estimated. I would not hesitate to hire them and would do so myself!

Installer was late. He did not show up until after 12 noon, and did not leave until after 5:30 p.m. That is unacceptable.

Jerry worked all weekend to get my floor in before my move in. Really appreciated it. What a hard worker.

I do not recommend this vendor for reasons too numerous and painful to go into.

$3500 for 400 square feet. Every detail was taken care of perfectly by a true craftsman. No one can believe how perfect the install was.

We checked out four different vendors, of which Walgenmeyer's was one. In the end, Walgenmeyer's had the quality and price we were looking for. We wanted to replace nearly 20-year-old linoleum in the kitchen. We wanted a wood look but not wood. We chose a vinyl product that looks like wood but is much easier to care for. It was installed over the existing linoleum and is a floating floor. It was installed in a few hours by veteran professionals. It goes very well with our cabinets and looks terrific. Our carpeting was of a similar vintage. While it was an excellent product when originally installed, it had wear spots and stains that could not be removed. It was time for something new. We chose a plush that would be used in two bedrooms with their closets, a greatroom encompassing living, dining, and sun room, and stairs to the basement. The installation was planned for two days. For the first day, we had removed all of the furniture out of the bedrooms. Walgenmeyer's would have moved all of our furniture for us, but we elected to do that ourselves. The two installers carpeted the bedrooms and closets in a little over two hours. We had the rest of the day to move all of the furniture into those two bedrooms. We were able to move everything except for a large reclining sofa and a china cabinet. The second day the now four installers took the two-piece china cabinet apart and moved it into one of the bedrooms. They moved the sofa to one end of the greatroom while they started carpeting from the other end. They finished the installation in just less than four hours. They put the sofa back in its original location and reassembled the china cabinet and put it back where it belonged. They took away all the old carpeting, cleaned up after themselves, and were gone. From the initial sale through the installation, everyone we worked with was professional and accommodating. We are thrilled with the result!

The sales staff were super helpful and very informative, I always have a lot of questions. They have a really good selection of quality products and prices are very competitive. The removal of old carpet and laminate was done as carefully and cleanly as possible, and installation of the new engineered wood floors was done with care and attention to detail. I love my new wood floors and am very pleased with the entire experience. I will definitely work with Walgenmeyer's again.

It was an ordeal. They could have shown up on time every day and they could have cleaned up after themselves better. One of the things that they did wrong was, we have a very heavy bed and they disassembled it in order to move out it out of our bedroom in order to re-carpet the bedroom and they reassembled it incorrectly so we had to have a furniture company come out, take it apart and reassemble it. We've already issued a complaint to Walgenmeyer's. Our issues with them are now resolved. Our bed is reassembled and we've cleaned up the house. We are pretty happy with the carpets.

Everyone we worked with in the showroom was great. We chose our carpet and by the time we had finished clearing the house and having it repainted the carpet was ready to be installed. A team of four men showed up at the appointed time. They started right in, first removing all of the old carpet and pad. Then they brought in the new pad and carpet and in a little over three hours total time they were finished. The new carpet was completely vacumed which meant a great deal to us. We had expected that our newly painted walls might get scuffed during the installation but not a one. The job was perfect!! A call from the office verified that all had gone as planned.

That was great. Their installer was perfect. You stand on in the kitchen and look upstairs. You can see the hardwood flooring and the home matches up exactly with all of the rooms throughout the hallway. There is nothing they could have done differently. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. I just recommended them to a friend who did use them. The price was more than what I thought it would be but then you pay for good product. He was here right up 7 o’clock every morning.

The service was great. It was really good. We thought the price was pretty competitive. We got some good quality floors.? We got nothing but compliments from people who came to see the place. Their responsiveness was fine. We had problem with a couple of tiles in the bathroom and they came and replaced with no charge. They were here when they said they would be. They were top rate.

Fantastic company to work with. My wife and had our expectations met and we are currently using Eric and Walgenmeyers again.

I loved that all the prices listed included installation/removal/etc. It made the entire process feel much more transparent. We called twice before installation to ask questions, and someone actually answered the phone both times and was able to answer our questions easily. This place hit our sweet spot of working with a small, locally owned business with fair prices. We also checked out Sergenian's, but their prices were outrageous and the way they calculated everything felt confusing. Installers were there exactly on time and were lightening fast. No complaints. They hardly charged us anything to move furniture.

I explained that I was looking to purchase Shaw carpeting for my home in Minnesota, but that I lived in Madison now. Karen was generous with her knowledge and time and helped me through the selection process. Their prices were competitive with the prices in Minnesota and she told me about an upcoming sale.

We had recurring difficulties with this vendor in all phases of our purchase. They lost track of our entire bathroom floor order early on, and could not tell us whether the vinyl was ordered from the manufacturer. With the carpet order, they lost my directions on how to bind and divide the carpet, resulting in a several week delay. They told me they do not ordinarily deliver carpets, but did eventually agree to drop it off at our house. The carpet was in good condition, and I am satisfied with it. Then they neglected to bill me for the remainder of the balance for several months. After I sent them our check, which they cashed within a week, they resent the same bill two months later. This business appears to be very disorganized, and I wouldn't go through the hassle of dealing with their chaos again.
