Urban Tree Management is amazing! This is the third time I’ve hired them! Evan, the owner, responds quickly to access the job, listens carefully to your needs and then explains in detail what the options are with estimates. He gets you on his schedule as soon as possible. The team moves quickly, safely and cleans everything up nicely. I’ve had them, cut down trees, trim dead branches and cable an enormous tree and treat a tree. I feel the prices are very fair and the work is impeccable. I trust them with all trees in my yard and will definitely be hiring them back!!

I recently hired Urban Tree Management to do some tree health maintenance (birch borer treatment). I've used Evan's crew for years for various tree-related issues (pruning, staking, etc) and have never been disappointed. Responsive, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Evan was awesome to work with! He is so prompt and efficient. He takes great pride in what he does. He removed a tree stump for us and also gave a quote for some tree trimming and new tree install. I would highly recommend him as he is professional and reasonably priced!

Wonderful! Evan and crew were prompt, completed all of the work which included removal and stump grinding and covering with top soil. They had to remove a section of fence to get at one tree. They replaced it when finished. Clean up was great too. I would highly recommend them!

Evan and his crew were incredibly professional and skilled. They carefully disassembled a backyard fence, removed two large trees, ground the stumps, backfilled the area with topsoil, attended to divots in the yard, cleaned the area, and reassembled the fence -- all in a day and a half. They were cost competitive and we highly, highly recommend them.

It all went very well. Evan responded to my request promptly and after coming over to assess the situation he scheduled the tree removal for the following week. The work was done quickly and thoroughly. The brush and trunks were all removed. He did not leave a trace. And the cost was much less than I had anticipated. Evan responded the most promptly, efficiently and with the best price of the multiple quotes I obtained. He really listened/read what I wanted done with my stump, quoted quickly and scheduled my work accurately. Showed up when he said he would, got the work done safely (my large tree was between 2 houses and required some finessing to remove it safely without scaring my neighbor) and cleaned up so well I can't tell even tell a tree was ground up in my front yard! I am beyond pleased!

Evan did more than a 'drive-by' estimate; he met with me on our property to look at and discuss what needed to be done, and I really appreciate that. He made sure to not trample the little plants under the trees that needed work, and he and his team cleaned up everything when they were done. We would hire him again without a doubt.

Evan and crew did an excellent job beginning with a prompt estimate, communicating throughout, and getting us on his schedule to complete the job. When he and his crew arrived, they completed the job promptly, efficiently, and met all expectations set out in their proposal. He also had the fairest price estimate amongst the four companies we contacted.

E mailed Evan right away. Had used him on a couple of other occasions so knew who I wanted. He responded and said he would try to fit us in on Friday. Fortunately the branch didn't hit the house (only took out electricity and cable) so after that was fixed, I wasn't worried about Evan not being here on Friday. He e mailed and said he would be here on Wednesday. I had to be gone in the morning but came home and everything was gone - neat and tidy.

I had a large tree removed from my yard.They did an amazing job, very quiet little disruption to the neighborhood.

It went very well. I was not home, but my neighbors commented how professionally and quietly the work was done. They took great care to not damage mine or my neighbor's property in the process. This was no small feat, as it was a very large tree in a very small backyard! Evan was very professional and the communication was good.

They were great. The job was reduced from when I first talked to them, as a neighbor wanted to cut down the tree for firewood and so I ended up only needing Urban to grind the stump. They adjusted accordingly, and took care of the stump for a good price without making a huge mess of the surrounding garden. I am very happy with the service that was done and the responsiveness of the company.

Evan and Urban Tree Management were very professional. They trimmed two trees in our backyard, and treated an ash tree for ash borer prevention. Prices were reasonable and their work was aesthetically pleasing and complete.

I reached out to a couple companies for quotes to take down three good-sized (50 foot plus) cottonwood trees that had been causing my neighbor and I grief for years, and Evan managed to get out to our place and offer an estimate within 24 hours of the inquiry. Price was the best we got from a handful of estimates (though all seemed a bit spendy. what we get for living near Madison I suppose), but he gave us a timeframe re: when we could expect to have the work done (two weeks out), and then stuck to it despite a stretch of nasty weather between the estimate and proposed work date. My kids had a blast watching the crew work, they were friendly and professional, and they got done half a day quicker than I'd expected. Plus, no hidden / tacked-on fees. Really good experience all around.

Outstanding service, from bid solicitation and prompt quote to 2-week-later workday arrival and walkthrough, tree and stump removal, and thorough cleanup. As a surprise bonus, Evan even offered to help us remove some stubbornly well-planted old clothesline poles, which saved us massive bachache. Unreserved recommendation, and Evan's quote came in nearly 60% below another Madison-area Angie's A-lister. There was no aspect of the job that I could suggest to improve upon.

Urban Tree Management was on time, provided service--removal of trees, trimming down roots, adding top soil, and cleaning up, all within a short period of time. Evan (owner) and Jeremy were very professional. I recommend Urban Tree Management for your job, and would use them again.

We hired Urban Tree Management to cut down a large tree branch near our home in the back yard. When I initially contacted them, Evan was responsive and easy to work with. They came out as scheduled while my wife and I were at work but my brother in law was at our house at the time. While they were there, my brother in law called me saying that the company knocked on the door saying there was an incident with the power line in the back yard and they were told to call me (the homeowner) about it to discuss. After almost an hour of not hearing from them, I stepped out of work to call them and find out what happened. Evan didn't answer. I then called my brother in law who was still there and was told they were packed up and leaving now. My brother in law ran out of the house and ran them down as they were leaving and gave Evan the phone with me on the other end. When Evan picked up the phone, he was immediately confrontational saying "this wasn't our fault, the power line wasn't anchored correctly." When I was finally able to speak I asked him to please explain what happened. He said that when they threw the tag line over the tree branch, the weighted line was also thrown over the power line and pulled it and the anchor out of the side of the house. He then repeatedly told me this "isn't our problem" because "it wasn't anchored correctly. We do this all the time and have never had this happen before." I then asked him if they really throw weighted tag lines over power lines "all the time," as this did not seem like a safe or responsible practice to me. He said, "yes we do it all the time and have never had this happen, so it must not have been anchored correctly." Not once did he actually take a ladder and closely inspect the anchor to determine if, in fact, it was anchored correctly. He repeatedly told me "this isn't our problem." I then discussed with him my concern that this power line has been anchored to the house for approximately 30 years so I find it unlikely it is not anchored correctly. He response to that was "are you calling me a liar?" I said no, I just find it unlikely it wasn't anchored correctly and need to go home and inspect it for myself. I also told him that even if it was not anchored properly, he and his company has created a new problem for me that did not previously exist. He then said that if I wanted him to resolve this issue that he would simply "just screw it in in a different spot and call it good, because it wasn't anchored properly to begin with." After returning home and closely inspecting the anchor, it was in fact anchored properly. Given Evan's very stand-off-ish and confrontational attitude, I decided it would be best to have a professional electrician fix the problem. I then emailed Evan telling him I was offended with his confrontational attitude and lack of professionalism and that I simply wanted an invoice for the work done so I could cut my losses with his company. I also told him I would be writing a review of my experience online and that I would have an electrician fix my power line. Evan promptly sent me a reply with an apology saying that he agrees he was unprofessional and confrontational initially and that he agreed having an electrician fix the power line was the best plan. When the electrician came out, he confirmed the power line was indeed anchored correctly and fixed the anchor appropriately and to code. Ultimately, Evan agreed to deduct the cost of repairs from the electrician from his invoice. The concerns I have with Urban Tree Management was that Even told me they throw ropes over power lines "all the time." I find this practice careless, irresponsible, and dangerous. Also, Evan's very confrontational attitude was highly offensive. To Evan's defense, he did apologize and deducted the electrician's charges, but this was only after I told him I was going to be writing a review of my experience online and going elsewhere for the rest of my business. We went with Capital City Tree Experts for the rest of our business and had a great experience with them.

It was great from start to finish. Evan is wonderful. He responded quickly to my request for a quote, and once we decided to go with them, he had us scheduled and completed within a week. His price was much less than the other quotes and they did a great job. We had one small dead tree we needed taken down, plus several larger ones that were already down from construction but just sitting in our lot. They were done in an hour and a half, and they cleaned up their mess! It looks great and we couldn't be happier.
