 + -1 moreFollowing recommendations on Angie's List, I called Tony about a leak through the first-floor bathroom floor dripping into the basement below. He came within hours, looked carefully at the site in the bathroom and basement, and showed me in detail how to fix the leak myself, since the fix would have taken less time than his two-hour minimum. He didn't charge me a penny. I was very pleased with his promptness, courtesy, thoroughness, and clarity, and I plan to call him again once I have enough handyman needs to cover the minimum two-hour charge.
Description of Work: Examined a leak in the first-floor bathroom dripping through the basement ceiling and provided a consultation.

 + 0 moreEverything went well. Tony Trapp came to our home, looked at the situation and made some notes. A couple of days later I received a professional looking proposal/estimate via email that was followed up with a phone call. I accepted the proposal and the process began. It took about five weeks for the replacement window to come from the same factory that made the original window. The replacement had some slight design changes that makes it less apt to rot out like the first one did. Tony and his staff then stained the new window to match existing trim. The actual install/replacement process only took about an hour. All in all I can't say enough good things about the professional service provided. It was indeed a pleasure doing business with Tony Trapp.
Description of Work: A 15 year old crank-out window rotted out at the bottom and needed to be replaced. The interior of the window needed to be stained to match the surrounding casement and other trim in the room. Just finding the right replacement window was not easy.

 + -1 moreMy experience has been positive. They did the work they promised on time and according to specification. The only slight problem I had is that the workers did no bring all their equipment with them for the final test on the fans. They had to come back to do that. Also, after they made the changes up in the attic they did not clean up after themselves quite as well as I thought they would. But they did still do a good job. Their price was competitive.
Description of Work: He modernized some ventilation for my bathrooms up to the vents on the roof and tightened some of the areas in my home where warm air was escaping.

They were pretty busy, but were able to fit us into the schedule within a few weeks of our request. We were billed on a time and materials contract, which we prefer. Bill is the carpenter and has installed all of our doors for us. He is awesome...prompt, professional, does high quality work, and cleans up after completion.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. His employee Darryl (I'm not sure of the spelling) arrived on schedule and worked for about 3 1/2 hours to remove the carpet and the trim. He also hauled the old carpet away for us. Tony was very helpful and I appreciated the advice he gave me.
Description of Work: We contracted with Tony Trapp Repairs to remove a water damaged carpet in the basement and partial hallway. The baseboard trim also had to be removed.

 + -1 moreThe quality of the work was good and Tony was immediately responsive when I had a minor issue that needed to be addressed after the job was finished. The only issue I had was that I was never notified when the worker was coming...he just showed up one day. This was OK for me as I work from home but it would've been inconvenient for anyone else.
Description of Work: They replaced the aluminum fascia covering over my garage door that blew down in a storm last fall. Further, they wrapped my old wooden trim around the garage doors with aluminum.

 + 2 moreLast fall they hung a door and some other things. He had a very good person who did most of the work and he was excellent. Tony was good about providing estimates and keeping in touch. The price was a little high. He responded well in the beginning but it took a while to get some of the work done. They would call if they were not going to be on time.

He scheduled my fix its promptly, and we had to wait out the winter to do the vent, and he called me to check in once the weather was better. He was more on top of it than I was! His rates were reasonable too and I wouldn't hestitate to use him for other projects or to recommend him.

Description of Work: Our bathroom counter had an extension that went over the top of the toilet. When we needed to replace the toilet, we had to have the extension cut off. We contact 3-4 different companies in our area providing handyman services, most of them either said they couldn't do it or had to have the entire counter shipped to them, which would have cost us a large amount of money. Tony Trapp was the only one who didn't give us the runaround and sent someone to do the job within a few days.

 + 0 moreCalled Tony Trapp for an estimate on a front door replacement on a rental property. The door was drafty. Tony was VERY helpful, punctual and professional. Tony went over several options to replace or fix the door. He answered several questions and was very patient. He even taught us a Do-it-yourself option; which was what we ultimately chose to do to fix the drafts. He promptly sent us his estimates. The estimates were within a reasonable price range (not the highest bid received, not the lowest bid either). I have told many people of our positive experience. I would recommend him to anyone. I will call him again if we ever need a handyman.

Now I have an outdoor clothes line that I can remove for mowing or parties. He did a great job and left everything very tidy. His pleasant personality was icing on the cake.

 + -1 moreVery good experience. Tony is very knowledgeable and gave me some good advice and pointers about other maintenance items in our older home. Price was higher than other handymen but in my opinion it was worth it as I am very comfortable with the quality of the work done. He took the time to make sure things were done right and installed high quality components. I have had enough experience with having to pay to re-do work that was done poorly by others or call people back out repeatedly to do something right, that I am willing to pay a slight premium to know it will be done correctly the first time. I will definitely call on Tony again.

 + 0 moreThe firm responded promptly to our request for an estimate. We described what we wanted done and mentioned a few other things we were considering having done around the house. They sent us a very clear estimate for each of the items discussed and provided options for us to choose how many we wanted done. We paid half in advance and had only the front door done. It did take them a week or two to get back to us to make the appointment, but once the appointment was made, they showed up promptly and did a beautiful job replacing our door. We intend to hire them in the future.

They came out and quoted me directly. They were careful to make sure that everything was cleaned up and taken away. Once they started the work they were prompt. They came out when they said that they would and left. I would definitely have them again.
