 + 0 moreJohn and his crew arrived early. They quickly and carefully moved our Yamaha upright piano from the first floor of our house to their truck. They drove directly to our daughter's home where they moved the piano up narrow stairs to the upper level of the home. They protected both the piano and the finishes in both houses during the move.

 + -1 moreInitial contact by email: sent immediate response that they would get back with me. I was then contacted by phone in about 48 hrs. All subsequent contacts via phone were prompt. Tipler Transfer personnel were prompt, efficient, worked quickly, but very carefully. Polite, professional, yet also friendly. They did an extra pick up for me without hassle. Price was very reasonable.

 + -1 moreTipler Transfer was recommended to us by a realtor. I was really impressed by the crew's efficiency and quality. They packed our previous home in 4 hours and everything was extremely well wrapped. Our belongings arrived in perfect condition and not so much as a chip was missing out of anything. We provided lunch and they ate and quot;on the runand quot; and were really focused on getting our job complete. They actually came in under the estimate that we were provided. We would definitely use them again -- John is a busy guy so you do need to be a little bit persistent but it is worth it.

 + -1 moreThey were prompt, organizied, and moved the heavy furniture and several antique pieces with ease. In years past we had struggled to move them ourselves. The three men(Travis, Tony and Justin) were respectful, knowlegable and strong. Would call them again.

 + -1 moreOn the day of the appointment, at the last minute, I was unable to walk through the house with him, but spoke with him first about the items to be moved (everything!) Also, left him with another person who was able to answer questions. There was NO follow up! I never received a quote and NO return phone calls.

 + -1 moreThe moving crew were great and very professional. There was some miscommunication between the owner, the crew and us. John, the owner, came to our townhouse and gave us a realistic estimate of the time and number of people required. We checked with him the day before the move and he told us they would be there at 7:30am. He told them to be there at 7:00am and they were on time, much to our surprise. He also forgot to tell the crew leader that they would need piano moving equipment. Apparently they had a problem with double scheduling because four of the crew and one of the trucks had to leave at 10:30am to go to another job site. That team loaded up half of the storage locker stuff and drove across town with a half-empty truck. It would have been more efficient to put all the crew on loading one truck at the storage locker and then send a couple guys and a truck to the townhouse to load. I am sure they were thinking of the loading and unloading time but did not consider that it would take half an hour to drive from one side of town to the other. We were not charged for the extra time but it made the process take longer. The crew worked a 12 hour day with a consistently positive attitude. We have a LOT of books and they stacked boxes as requested. We provided sandwiches and sodas for lunch. They would not have taken any breaks at all if we had not asked them to stop to eat. The most difficult thing they moved was a piano that had to go around a corner and down a half flight of stairs. They did a great job with everything.
Description of Work: Tippler Transfer moved the contents of a three bedroom townhouse and two storage units from one side of Madison to the opposite side.

 + 0 moreThey are very adaptable and responsive to what I need. Nothing throws them. They just say, and ldquo;Okayand rdquo;, and, and ldquo;That's fine!and rdquo; Another thing I like is that I can get into what's in storage. They went and got one little framed thing out of one box for me. Not all places will do that for me. That's a real plus.
Description of Work: Tipler Transfer is currently packing and moving some of our stuff into storage so we can stage our house in order to sell it. They came a week or two ago.

Description of Work: I gave a full verbal report when Angie's list called, but since I didn't see it...I felt I owed it to them to post! First, you must know, my mother just died in the house we owned together...while it's being foreclosed on. As an only child, I barely could bribe friends to help. Calling them was a choice I made because I used them to move into my house over 12 yrs ago. They were everything I remembered and only have improved. It's hard to trust anyone when someone dies or you are financially struggling during grieving for your mother and the house she gave you. Now, about Tipler....John went above and beyond...he went out of his way to save me money and heartache when it came to using his services and other moving related services. I have a 2600 sq ft house and they moved the stuff I had left into a 10x20 storage facility in 2 hours, the cost reflects travel time. They were so efficient and friendly and smart in terms of packing my stuff into that small space. I was blessed to have them. I hope you trust them....it will be worth every penny and give you piece of mind during any move, which is stressful. John took 2 days to assure me I was on the schedule...I got impatient, that was a mistake I made, because he was spending his time researching ways to save me money and find me other services. I had to apologize to him. They are a family biz that is the best kept secret in Madison!!! I'd be happy to give more info...but still moving. Time is money, life is short....but I would trust them with any moving service with anyone I love!

 + -1 moreI was moving from first floor one bedroom apartment in Middleton to third floor one bedroom apartment in Monona, both of which are for seniors and disabled. So, my movers would need to be quite sensitive to those who live in each apartment building. The owner came and priced out my job ahead of time so that I knew approx. how much the move would be. I did ask for a binding quote, in case the move lasted longer than anticipated. Good thing I did, I hadn't gotten it in writing, but, the move lasted longer and still the owner kept his word and gave it to me for the amount we agreed upon. I had 4 young men, originally it was suppose to be 3, come and move my furniture and my boxes, that I packed. The young men who moved my things were very prompt, friendly, courteous, helpful and did a fantastic job taking care of my things. I didn't hear much from the owner, but he did what he said he would and that was all that mattered to me. I would highly recommend this company for your move. I don't expect to move again, but, if I had to I would hire them again.

They are very efficient and very cost-effective. They don't hire any temporary labor, so we need not have any concerns. They are very nice. I am very impressed with them.

 + -1 moreThey worked very well with the service and were respectful of my parents. They were prompt, professional, courteous and helpful. One of them even took a mattress / boxspring off my parents hand when they were unable to coordinate the delivery of their new set the day of the move. And, it was about 90 degrees on the day of the move. They carried on very well in spite of the heat.
Description of Work: Tipler has moved my parent's several times. On this occasion, Tipler was used by the senior moving service we hired to move them from an apartment into a retirement community. The moving service did most of the packing the previous day, so on the day of the move, most everything was ready to be loaded up. For those big items that required extra packing, the movers assisted with those.

I'd had a moving company move a few large items last year and they were not careful and didn't seem to respect my items or my home, banging up furntirue and walls as they went. The Tippler guys were fantastic, worked really h****** a hot day and were careful with my items and nothing was damaged (including our home). My only minor gripe was that I left some mattress bags out on top of the mattresses to put them in so they didn't get dirty when they moved them. (I had left the house for a little while to go to the destination house and so I wasn't there to tell them that.) I kind of thought they'd figure it out, but it wasn't a big deal. I should have told them that explicitly and there wouldn't have been a problem whatsover. My experience with movers is generally not great, but these guys were really top notch. They are the only moving company I'd recommend.
