TIME 2 REMODEL, LLC is located in Madison, Wisconsin. Curt Dimmig has owned & operated his own business since 1999. Curt is a 3rd generation carpenter and started working in the remodeling business as a child in his parents kitchen & bath remodeling business. He often worked side by side with his father and mother designing, building and installing custom kitchens & baths. Since then, his range of skill, knowledge and experience has continued to grow to an award winning level. The time it takes to figure out a remodel project is what we take PRIDE IN HELPING our customers with. We stand out with our CREATIVE SOLUTIONS and by PERSONALLY ASSISTING you with all your selections (plumbing, cabinetry, tile, flooring, etc) while walking you through the remodeling process.
We recently had the pleasure of having Time 2 Remodel complete a basement remodel project on our unfinished basement. Since this was our first major renovation, we were somewhat nervous with the process and how it would all turn out. Time 2 Remodel eased those worries early on and for the duration of the project. Curt, Janean, and the entire Time 2 Remodel staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional, honest, and polite. Right from the start, Curt does a fantastic job with the early steps in regards to working with you and with your proposed budget to make a realistic plan to achieve your goals. Janean is then involved throughout that process in regards to bringing that plan to life. We really appreciated the effort Janean took to keep us informed throughout the process. Along the way, she provided us with several options to realize our vision for the basement while still keeping to our intended budget. It also can’t be understated how professional and polite all the Time 2 Remodel subcontractors were who were hired to complete various parts of the project. We researched several contractors for this project, and ultimately chose Time 2 Remodel because we felt that based on our research, they would provide us with a top notch product at a better value than other contractors we were researching for similar overall service. I can say with confidence that Time 2 Remodel fully lived up to those expectations. I would highly recommend Time 2 Remodel to anyone looking to complete a remodeling project, and we will certainly consider them for future projects that we may have.

Time 2 Remodel was recommended by Gerhard's where I hope to buy cabinets. I spoke with Janean on the phone who was very nice. I said I could send a detailed email about what work needed to be done to save them some time, and so I did. Then I followed up for them to come out to give me a bid. Then I followed up again. And again. I waited about a week between each contact. Then I asked Gerhard's what was up, and my contact there said that Time 2 Remodel folks had been busy. I waited a bit more. They never got back to me. I would have appreciated a professional response of them saying they weren't interested in the project.
The basement is beautiful and won and award at one on of their shows. (They also did our bathroom, which is also just perfect). They were always available to help. Even when surprises came up during the project, they took care of us through the whole process. Highly recommend.
Great! This was our first major remodel with professionals. Janean and Curt were very knowledgeable - Janean with design and products; Curt with planning and followthrough. Janean created 3 separate plans that would fit in to our existing space. She helped us visualize the outcome and was very helpful going through different products with us at the suppliers. Time2Remodel employees were personable and respectful, and always cleaned up at the end of their shifts. Good people. We are so pleased with the end results!

Curt and Janean were great to work with from design layout to completion. Their staff was professional and very helpful in the kitchen remodel process to get the new open concept that we desired. We just love the custom hickory cabinets and Cambria counters. Bringing the washer and dryer from the basement to our main level was key to staying in our home during retirement. We would highly recommend Time 2 Remodel for your remodel project.

We had a good experience. Janean was very helpful and communicative, gave us good advice when picking out all the different items, and kept the job running smoothly. She was very clear on when we were choosing things that would go above our budget, and the price at the end was not a surprise. Their employees and subcontractors were professional, competent, and fun to talk to. We are very happy with our new kitchen!

We hired Time 2 Remodel to completely remodel our kitchen and powder room. The rooms were very dated and had lived out their useful lives. In addition to replacing cabinets counters, and plumbing fixtures, we removed two walls, a chimney, leveled the floor between an enclosed porch and the main kitchen, and addressed structural problems. Salvaged flooring patched in to the old hardwood kitchen floor that was refinished to match the dining room. Needless to say, this was a complex project. Curt and Janean proved very helpful with the design and coordination; especially during an extremely busy time for contractors. The project took longer than expected, however we found more "surprises" in our 100 year old house then imagined. The space is now a joy to work in. We would definitely hire them again.
Curt took a lot of time with us in the beginning and showed us a prelim design so we knew what to expect and the direction of our project. We liked our connection with him. Throughout the project we then worked with designer, Janean, and she was great about meeting with us at various shops in town to help pick our design choice. This was super helpful! She also would get back to us on our many questions. We will use them in future projects! Thanks Time 2 Remodel.
Description of Work: We really enjoyed working with Time 2 Remodel and now really love our new kitchen! (We gutted the kitchen, took down a wall and moved our laundry room door to a different wall.)

It went very well. Curt and his team were very accommodating, despite the short notice (our other contractor backed out) and our hectic schedule. They were very easy to deal with and did great work. I would use them again in a heartbeat and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to our friends and family.

Curt and his crew were very easy to work with. Scheduling was a little difficult through this busy season, but the timeline was reasonable. Would definitely hire them again. Added a few pictures of the final work...I put up the towel bar, cat/dog trim and sign myself. Not pictured: bath fan installation.
Description of Work: Hired Time 2 Remodel to install a dog shower in my mud room. This was a hard project to get quotes for because not a lot of companies in the area have built dog showers and the space I had to work with was very limited. Curt and I discussed a budget before as other quotes I had received were a lot higher than expected. We ended up agreeing on the budget and only went over $6.15!

I chose not to have this company do the project because I found another company that was able to do the project at a lower price.
Description of Work: I was looking to update the lower level of my home. I was requesting to have barn-boards removed and replaced with drywall, new flooring, new trim, new doors, and for the ceilings and walls to be painted. Curt responded quickly and was able to schedule a time on the weekend to get the information needed to provide an estimate for the work. He was able to provide a sales contract shortly after the initial visit, breaking down the cost for the whole project.

Time 2 Remodel had completed a full gut and remodel of my master bath in 2016. (See review from 2/16/2017) Overall, they did a very good job. My only concern was the tile work on the shower. After about 2 years, the grout on the wall started to wear away. Then by year three, I noticed that mold started to build up along certain sections of the floor and lower wall grout. It would go away with scrubbing, but then return within 1-2 weeks. I've got really bad eyesight, but when I got up close, I found 5 small holes in the grout ranging from 1/8" to 1/2 inch--along with several sections where it had worn pretty thin. It appeared that water was getting through the grout holes and behind the tile, causing mold. While the warranty for the work had long expired, I called Time 2 Remodel to at least evaluate and bid out the repair. The response was always, "we're really busy, but we will send our tiler out soon." After about 4 months of the same response, it didn't seem like they were interested in fixing (even getting paid to do so) their prior work. After 6 months of not using our shower, which was full of holes, I hired a different tiler to come out, remove all the grout, clean out all the mold, and regrout, which cost about $1000 (not as bad as it could have been) The good thing about the original Time 2 Remodel work was that the waterproofing behind the tile seemed sound. It just would have been nice had they been willing to stand behind their tile/grout work which should have lasted decades had it been installed properly.

My project involved turning a 6x9ft master bathroom with single vanity, toilet, and prefab tub/shower into an expanded bathroom large enough to fit a double vanity and allow two adults (and a child) to be in the room at the same time. We accomplished this by moving a plumbing wall 2 feet into an adjoining walk-in closet. The major work involved moving an attic access panel, moving the plumbing for sinks and toilets, moving the toilet, building a new stud wall, increasing the number of electrical outlets from two to six, installing two built-in medicine cabinets, adding in heated towel bars, making a completely tiled walk-in shower with two shower heads, adding shower niches, adding glass shower doors, and adding an arch above the shower opening. Small bathroom, big job. My initial contact was with Curt, who handles the estimate and subsequent payments. The estimate and initial contract was straightforward, comprehensive, and easy to understand. I liked that he gave me options for doing some of the work myself. The estimate included estimated cost of materials. All the subcontractors are licensed. All the work is guaranteed. Janean took over after the contract was signed. She is the coordinator for all the projects that they do, and she does an excellent job! She is also an interior designer/decorator, who's services are kind of bundled into the estimate. So, the way it works is that she meets clients out at several of her local suppliers' showrooms. She helps pick out all the fixtures, tile, cabinets. Then she has the items delivered and stored at her suppliers' local warehouses, to be retrieved whenever they are needed on the job site. One oddity to be aware of is that Janean cannot give specific quotes for most of the products that clients choose or ask about. There are list prices but each of her suppliers gives her different discounts that are not determined until the product is ordered. It was very hard to compare the cost of different options. The suppliers themselves would only give list prices to us. Janean would give us a total bundled estimate for materials, broken down by type of item. If the cost ended up being higher, she would eat the cost, which was generous. Any changes or questions required a new estimate, which became very cumbersome. In the end, I still did the ordering through her because her suppliers and contractors would warranty all the work and supplies ordered through her. In the end, her prices were right about the cost of what I could have found on my own, so it was worth it for the added peace of mind. Janean's strength is her skill in coordinating the many different suppliers, subcontractors, and schedules. She is quite the maestro of project management! Contractors stayed on schedule, products arrived on time, we were kept updated at appropriate intervals. There was always a lot going on, and people who had to work together always arrived together. Work that needed to precede other work, got done in the correct order. The subcontractors that came were all very respectful and tidy. They all were open to explaining what and why they were doing things. They would discuss options with me, and they gave me their advice when I asked. Prior to and during the project, I tried to learn as much as I could about local building codes and construction methods. Not once did I feel that the carpenters, plumbers, HVAC tech, shower door installers and electricians were cutting corners or doing anything less than the best that they could be doing. They let me be nosy. And I am confident that all the work behind the drywall, ceiling and flooring are all built to last. The only part of the job that I felt was merely adequate was the tiling. The work was slow and not as good as I have experienced on past projects. I have tiled a bathroom in the past myself, so I understand that certain things cannot be started with only an hour left in the workday--such as waiting for thinset and grout to dry. However, the couple that did the tiling would work for about 2 hours before and 2 hours after lunch, except when they were absolutely under the gun. The 2-3 week tiling portion took 5 weeks. They used a flexible board behind the tile which resulted in a curve/dip in the wall. If you hold a straight edge to the wall, there is a 1/2 inch deep dip along a 2 ft wide wall. The subway tile are all slightly tilted in different angles instead of being in one plane. The grout lines are a little bumpy. And, the piece of tile that covers the thresh hold doesn't extend underneath the wall tile, so he had to use caulk to fill in the gap. Just like a roof should extend over a home's wall, all tile should cover the top of any tile beneath it to let water flow off. Most of the issues are cosmetic, but I do have to be more vigilant for when the caulk fails or else water will get under the tile. He did do a good job on sloping the shower pan, as water does not pool anywhere on the floor. He also did well on tiling the arch above the shower doors. But I think they have other tilers, so next time I would ask for a different one. All in all, my wife and I are delighted with the renovation. We enjoyed working with Curt and Janean and their very friendly crew. I also liked working with their suppliers, who in some cases went out of their way to make something right. I attached two before-pictures and four after-pics. The after-renovation pictures are pretty stunning!

Overall it went very well. The work stretched out longer than we expected because we encountered some problems with the subfloor, which required more work and thus more time and money. Time 2 Remodel was VERY accommodating of our desire to strip the wallpaper and do the painting ourselves, and we had adequate time to get those things done before the contractor and his subs came back. They also kept a good eye on the subcontractors and contacted us several times to see if the work was satisfactory and if the subs had worked for as many hours as they claimed.
Description of Work: Time 2 Remodel did basically a half-remodel on one of our bathrooms. We needed to get a leak fixed at the base of the toilet which, it turned out, had damaged the bathroom subfloor. We asked Time 2 Remodel to remove and reuse the toilet and vanity, rip out the existing ceramic file floor, fix the toilet seal, fix the subfloor, install a new ceramic tile floor, re-install the toilet and vanity, and remove and replace existing baseboard heat vent, baseboards, towel bar and ring, and install a grab bar at the far end of the bathtub. (My husband removed the existing wallpaper, sanded the walls, and painted the bathroom.)
So far, we've been highly pleased with them. They do free estimates. The estimate worked out very well. We got the estimate and we're clearly moving with the work. They're a nice middle ground. They're willing to accept smaller jobs. They're experienced and professional.
Description of Work: We're using Time 2 Remodel for our basement renovation. They gave us an estimate.
They're very easy to work with. They do take a long time to complete the project. We got tired of waiting for contractors. They were willing to make changes at any point in the project. We ran into a code conflict and they resolved it with us in a very responsible manner. You are told at the end whether or not you're in budget. If you like knowing all the budget details, they may not be the right company for you. Janine is a decorator and she's very helpful mixing and matching materials together. We're pleased with both bathrooms now.
Description of Work: 1 complete bathroom remodel and 1 partial bathroom remodel
Overall, we are very pleased with our basement and bathroom remodels. Curt and Janean were helpful making design decisions that can often be difficult. The various contractors that came were skilled, professional, and tidy at the end of the workday. We wanted to keep the cost down and do some of the deconstruction ourselves which Curt and Janean accommodated happily. Also, as problems came up in the project they worked with us to resolve them in a professional and attentive manner. There were times during the project that we needed to pay close attention to the details of what was being done and ask them to change something, fix something that was not correct, or do something differently. They met with us about our concerns and fulfilled the requests. They were also very thorough with problem solving. For instance, there were problems with our new overhead bathroom fan and they did what what necessary to solve the problem. All projects take longer than expected. This one was no exception. We found it helpful to work with firm deadlines. Curt and Janean were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed working with them throughout the project.
Description of Work: Remodel of basement and 2 bathroom remodels. Basement remodel included drywall of walls, ceiling, and bedroom as well as a ceramic tile floor, door replacement, and custom woodworking/carpentry. We had some work done on our bathrooms by Time 2 Remodel approximately 1.5 years ago and over time noticed that in one of the bathrooms the shower was slowly leaking into the drywall next to it each time we showered. When I contacted Curt about it he didn't hesitate to make it right. After a few unsuccessful attempts to repair it, he replaced the shower at no cost to us. (The only cost for us was the addition of a nice new shower door which was not part of the original work). If you are looking for a company that will stand 100% behind their work and be responsive to your concerns Time 2 Remodel is a great choice!

Description of Work: We originally got a quote to finish our basement, at least that was the plan. and install a dog door in the house. Kurt was excellent in providing timely service to us for both. Received a quote from Time 2 Remodel. My wife and I discussed the quote (it was higher than we anticipated, but not unfair). Because the quote was higher than we thought, we tried to discussing other options with Time 2 Remodel. We were willing to go with the original bid, but just wanted a few options. They just stopped responding to emails, never tried to contact me via phone or email. We were very flexible with the timing, letting them know that "sometime in 2015" would've been great. The lack of follow-up was really disappointing.

Curt and Janean the owners of Time 2 Remodel are a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend them to all of our friends considering construction projects. They were always on call for our questions and quickly responded to all emails, calls and texts. Janean used her expertise as an interior designer to help us make good decisions about flooring, wall colors and finishes. Their sub-contractors were professional and highly-skilled. Curt and Janean were quick to address any concerns we brought up. Time 2 Remodel were not the least or most expensive bid we received for this project - but the quality of the end product and the service we received were above and beyond our expectations and well worth the price. We plan to use Time 2 Remodel for future home improvement projects.

Time 2 Remodel was fantastic from start to finish. I had no less then five contractors/handymen out to bid my job, which was basically installing our kitchen cabinets. I had already worked with a cabinet designer at Brunsell Lumber and ordered custom Starmark cabinets through them. I found since we just needed someone to install our cabinets and help with some of the larger demo rather then design the space and handle all aspects of the kitchen remodel from gut to finish some contracts had kind of a... snobby... attitude about our job. Most were gloom and doom about our project (since they weren't controlling it from start to finish), and basically told me we'd be a last priority among their jobs. Curt couldn't have been more different. He was enthusiastic about what his team could help us with, and he was willing to work our small job in between some of their larger projects. He said he even appreciated taking smaller jobs here and there! (Yay! So refreshing after the other things we'd been hearing from other local contractors!) Curt sent over Dave, who has been installing kitchen cabinets since the start of his career (15-20 years ago?) and who has worked with our cabinet designer at Brunsell in the past. Curt called me to check up on our progress through out the kitchen remodel, from the time we started demo, to calling to make sure the guys at Brunsell delivered our cabinets, to working out the installation schedule with Dave. We did have a couple of delays due to the wall repair taking longer then expected and a couple of oddly stained cabinet doors, but Curt was friendly and professional the entire time, finding pockets of time within his larger projects when Dave could come over and work on our kitchen. And Dave was so much fun to have around! I was usually here working on other things around the house myself and Dave and I would crack jokes and sing along to Taylor Swift (he maybe more indulged me with that lol) - he was great company and did a beautiful job installing our cabinetry! All in all I couldn't have asked for a better experience! When it's time to update our upstairs bathroom I've no doubt I'll be calling Curt and his team at Time 2 Remodel!

Contacted them through their website. Never heard back. In contrast to the other folks we contacted. Reviews said they did really good work. Would have been nice to find out since apparently our project (a front porch) is more difficult than it would appear. My assumption is that they must have more business than they know what to do with.

I absolutely loved working with Curt and Janean. They are the sweetest people and they truly care about making you happy. They were very generous and found time to take our project on short notice when they were already fully booked. They were great with helping us make choices and guiding us through the process. Any time we didn't like something or if things went wrong, they went above and beyond to make thing right. And overall it went very smoothly and we're very happy with our end result. I'll definitely be calling them for future projects. I've been putting off writing this review because I wanted to be able to convey what a great team they are and how much we appreciate them, but at this point it's best just to get a little bit out there.
