Matt and his crew did an excellent job. Well worth the cost.

The quote was excellent. It was like the best quote I've ever gotten. He gives you a folder. He gives you a thorough explanation about how they do the work and about himself and his crew. He gives you a long reference list. He gave me a complete explanation about the process they go through. He was very patient. The quote was $2900 to tear out the garage floor, prepare the base, install rebar grid, and pour the floor. I'm going to use him in the future.

I've never bothered to write a review on Angie's List before, despite having hired over a dozen contractors from Angie's list. But Matt's service was so exceptional I felt that I needed to write a review. His work was very professional, friendly and timely - that's for sure. But what makes me write a review is his "above and beyond" service. A couple examples are as follows. First, we had agreed that a certain amount of concrete driveway would be removed and replaced. I booked Matt about 6 months before the actual work was to be performed. When Matt arrived before the job to give it the once over, he said he thought he might have to replace some additional concrete. I told him to do whatever was necessary, and that if what he did went beyond the original estimate, he could revise the estimate and charge me for the additional work/concrete. Well, he did decide that some additional work/concrete was needed. He did the additional work, and despite my urging him to do so, refused to add the additional work/concrete to the invoice and just did the additional work for free! Also, the driveway got dug out on the sides. Despite our not mentioning any soil replacement, Matt went out on his own and got a load of dirt and replaced the sides of the driveway so that the finished product was truly a finished product! And finally, his concrete work itself was like a work of art. It's unusual to say that concrete is "beautiful" but the work he did was simply outstanding. An A+ job and interaction in all respects. I hired him from Angie's list. Makes me feel the money spent on Angie's list was worth it! If you get multiple estimates for a concrete job and Matt's estimate is a bit higher - do yourself a favor and hire him anyhow. The people that laid the original driveway at my house hired the lowest bidder and they got a lousy driveway in return.

From the first phone call to the very last day, Matt was terrific to work with and did such a great job for us. He was easy to talk to about the project and gave a quick and very reasonably priced estimate and always explained the pros and cons of various options with the concrete project. His schedule is busy, but because he has a website with a project calendar that is updated often, we always knew where our project stood in line. So we never had to bother him by calling and asking what the timeframe was because if it rained we could just go online and look. He and his crew did a great job with the concrete and were in and out in no time and cleaned up everything all around as well. Matt even went above and beyond for us with a few things during the project and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I haven't even walked on our new driveway yet or waited to see how it performed before I wrote this review, but my husband and I are extremely pleased with the work. Matt kept us up to date via email to let us know when our job dates needed to be adjusted due to other jobs or weather conditions. His staff is very hard working and friendly. The work kept moving along. I would definitely recommend Matt and his company

Everything went very well! Matt is an exceptionally personable and professional person to deal with, and was always available to answer any questions we had. The crew worked together beautifully and efficiently during some of our hottest days this summer. We are VERY pleased with every aspect of this huge project and would highly recommend them to anyone!

We received quotes from four vendors. While it wasn't the least expensive, Concrete Company was very competitive, and we chose this company because the marketing and information materials were informative and thorough, Matt--the owner-- was very responsive and helpful, and the company was able to do the work when I needed it done. Matt was very quick to respond via email to questions. The quality of the work was excellent. The company provided all the services that were quoted, and they gave me a good deal on part of the service because they had missed something when the project was first quoted. I was especially grateful that Matt, the owner, suggested that we reconfigure the front step area, and he provided a suggestion on what we could do. We are extremely pleased with the result! Matt was here leading the team as the work was done. It was reassuring to have the company owner here the whole time making sure everything was done right. All in all, we are very happy with this company and the work that was done. We would highly recommend it.

We were delayed because of weather. The work was very professional. Totally removed old concrete, prepared area with 12 inches of compacted rock, used rebar and poured a beautiful job. Matt and his crew were very professional and even power washed our existing driveway because of all the dust due to concrete removal next to it. (Not part of the contract) Everything is slopped away from our house. I can't say enough good things about Matt and his crew.

Matt & crew did a great job replacing our old, crumbling driveway. Matt, the owner, was very easy to work with and extremely responsive to phone calls and emails. The new driveway looks great. We're very happy with the work completed and have already gotten many compliments from neighbors. Due to our rainy spring & early summer, our project did get pushed back a bit, which we completely understand is outside the company's control. We had to inquire about the timeline for starting when the original date had passed. Thus, the only thing we wish the company had done differently was provide us with more ready updates when our project dates got moved. Overall, this is a great, local, family-owned and operated company, and we'd highly recommend them.

From the moment we met we felt confident in Matt Wallace and The Concrete Company. What a friendly, accommodating and impressive guy! He stopped over early on a Sunday evening and by the time he left we already knew he was definitely the man for the job.! He gave us a complete folder of information explaining what we could expect during our replacement process, which we found very helpful. Our plan was to replace the driveway and a small area of sidewalk which connected to it. We wanted to widen the sidewalk and within 48 hours he sent us via email a visual design he had drawn up to do just that. He was interested, knowledgable, eager to please and cared about our project. He scheduled us a few weeks out but that few weeks turned into over 2 months due to all the early spring rains we had -- over 11" in the month of June alone! The schedule was backed up through no fault of his, but there is a handy schedule online we were able to check using an ID number we were given to see where the date fell for our project to be started. Matt let us know his crew would be coming to break up the old driveway on the specified date, which they did. They hauled away all the old concrete the same day and tidied things up as much as possible. That evening we got 3" of rain followed by several more inches during the month of June. We ended up with a large hole full of water and Matt promptly came over and regraded the dirt to slope away from the house and garage door so no water would run in. He was friendly and more than willing to take care of the problem. He could operate a bobcat with his eyes shut! It was unbelievable how he maneuvered it and had the problem rectified in no time at all. A few days later we emailed to ask him to remove a basketball hoop we had neglected to mention after they had already hauled the concrete away the first day. With a very welcoming attitude he said they remove them all the time and that it would be no problem at all. It was a relief he was so accommodating as we felt like a bother calling him. A few days later, the hole in the driveway filled up again with water, and upon calling Matt to let him know, he came over the following day to pump it out, all with a smiling and friendly face. After it finally stopped raining, the driveway was poured and stamped beautifully. We really appreciated Matt's detail in sloping the concrete in various places so water could drain away from the house. Several neighbors asked who did the work and gave the driveway rave reviews. A couple of very friendly, polite and patient guys came to do the glazing (painting) of the brick border and did an absolutely magnificent job on a very hot and humid day. Matt has some first-rate employees for sure! In summary, let it suffice to say The Concrete Company is the king of all concrete companies!!!!!! They did an outstanding job considering all the rain we had. Matt Wallace's communication is excellent and his big friendly smile makes you want to recommend him to all your friends and neighbors. .Matt did a great job. He explained what need to be down and when I changed the plans a little he worked it right in. Had some delays cause of rain but that is to be accepted. There were a couple hiccups along the way but Matt took care of them promptly. I am very satisfied with the quality of the project. I would hire Matt again and have already recommended him to someone I know.

Matt couldn't make the original appointment for an estimate but rescheduled for the weekend. He arrived on time and we went over all of the different problem areas. Matt took his time describing our options and explaining how the whole thing would have to be properly tied together. It is a complicated situation and a challenge to plan. He explained that there was a space limitation for their equipment between the house and the garage and that a company that specifically does concrete demolition would be better equipped. After the on site visit he emailed us an estimate within a couple of weeks. The estimate was detailed with the different options. In the end we decided to wait for now as we consider the larger strategy for our landscaping and we will reconsider in the spring. We ended up with a much better understanding of the situation and the options. We liked our options for decorative, stamped concrete and coloring.

I needed to replace my cracking concrete steps, walkway, and driveway as well as addressing the gravel borders on either side of the driveway that were weedy and unkempt. Matt came over within a week of me contacting him for a quote, talked through what I wanted to accomplish (replace the concrete driveway with new concrete and replace the concrete walkway and steps with stamped concrete as well as add a stamped concrete border to both sides of the driveway.) He answered specific questions, gave suggestions/alternatives and "rough estimates" of cost on the spot so I could decide what I could afford to do. He then provided a specific fixed price quote for the work I asked to have done. Based on some other remodellng I was having done, I asked Matt to add in a small new walkway and three additional steps to change the main entrance to the house. He responded to the change request quickly and got me a final quote for acceptance (two days from my request to add more work). He then gave me a rough estimate of the date his crew would be able to start (approximately three weeks out from when I accepted his quote) and an estimate of how long the work would take (3-4 days). The weather cooperated and his crew started one day after his estimated start date and worked three full days to accomplish the majority of the digging, pouring and stamping work. The site for the walk and steps was on a steep hill, but for the amount of old concrete, dirt and gravel they had to move, they left a fairly neat work site each evening and when the staining and sealing of the stamped concrete was completed the following week, his crew added and raked topsoil to repair the yard and sides of the walk and steps. The overall finished project exceeded my expectations. His work was "as promised" and very satisfactory in terms of quality and price and I would recommend his company highly to others looking for similar work.

They were fantastic! They were extremely professional, and they’re really dedicated to doing quality work. They valued our input, especially on the steps. They cleaned up well and showed up on time. Once, they did call beforehand to let me know that they were running late. I’ve recommended them to two other colleagues already!

Matt was very responsive and his crew toiled in 100 degree heat for several days to pour and finish the concrete. They wouldn't even accept refreshments, All of the concrete was first rate and it all looks beautiful with the picture frame finish and the lovely curve to the front sidewalk. The quality is an A- because of a couple of issues. First, even though the contract stipulated that we were responsible for replacing the landscaping, we weren't prepared for how extensive that was. The new driveway and sidewalk were about 5-8 inches higher than the old ones so did not match the lawn and it required 2 yards of dirt for fill. I will say that that did give me a reason to make a beautiful salad bed along the curve of the sidewalk, but it took about a week of work to finish everything along our 80 ft driveway. Second, the sealer was splashed on the siding during spraying, giving it a polka dot effect which is not attractive. A barrier should have been placed to prevent that. All in all, though, we are very happy with the work done and would recommend The Concrete Company.

Matt Wallace came out and gave us a quote almost immediately after we contacted The Concrete Company. Once we decided to go ahead, he put us on the schedule for about 3 weeks out. He has a web site that is solely for scheduling; you find the start date for your job by looking for your estimate number on the calendar. I checked several times and it seemed to be updated every day and a half or so. That was very handy and saved us a lot of time and e-mailing/calling. The date changed a few times because of weather, but only by a few days. The job was started and completed in two days. The crew worked fast and were professional. The driveway, garage front and front walk look terrific. Matt even asked us if the kids would want to put their hand prints in the cement, which we did in the garage front - it was a lot of fun for them. Matt was on the job the first day tearing up the old concrete, and was back checking in on the second day while the crew poured the concrete. We were very happy with this company and will work with them again when we put in a patio eventually.

As a homeowner who has worked with a host of contractors, I cannot put into words the high level of quality work that Matt Wallace and his crew did with my driveway project. My neighbor and I both needed our driveways totally re-done (along with some sidewalk repair) and we researched who would be the best contractor for the job. The Concrete Company was our choice and the end results went above and beyond my expectations. Throwing a dart blindly into the sea of Internet contractors can be overwhelming. Agreeing to have a contractor do expensive and complicated work can also be intimidating. Rest assured that The Concrete Company is the right contractor for all of your patio, sidewalk, driveway and concrete projects. They are professional, their prices are competitive and their work quality is superb.

Working with Matt was an outstanding experience. I shopped around a bit and got other bids. Matt's was the best, but it was more than the price that set Matt apart he really added value to the whole job. His honesty, responsiveness to questions, and willingness to do the little extras really stood out from the rest. The job was to replace our garage floor, driveway and the sidewalk to our from stoop, but Matt also noticed that our city curb was cracked and took the time to replace a large part of it at no extra charge! The quality of the work and the quality of his crew is excellent. Several neighbors have already commented on the good work he did and we've already recommended him to friends. I would definitely use the Concrete Company again.

This is the second time I have used Matt Wallace and his company for concrete work. Last time I had a portion of my driveway redone, as well as new sidewalks and porch stoops. This time he dug and poured footings 48 inches deep, poured a concrete slab on top of the footings, then poured a gorgeous stamped concrete patio outside the slab. Before pouring the slab, I placed heating wires for radiant warming in the room. Matt and his crew were incredibly accommodating for the time I needed to place the wires. In addition, they needed to use caution so none of the wires were disrupted. It went fabulously well.Matt is quick to answer phone calls, and my emails were answered same day, some of then within hours. The estimates were detailed and clear, and the final bills were spot on the estimates. Cleanup was prompt and complete. The concrete work they have done for me was perfect, and I mean perfect. I could not be more pleased, will use them again anytime I have concrete work to do, and would recommend them to anyone. Matt and The Concrete Company get my highest recommendation without any reservation whatsoever.

Excellent. Matt came out and talked through the job, we set the date. There was lots of rain leading up to the time, and we thought this would delay them, but on the expected date Matt showed up and made quick work of removing the entire 100+ foot driveway. The next morning he was back to form up and pour the new concrete drive, and sealed it late the same afternoon. The damage to the yard was incredibly minimal (about three inches on one side and none on the other side which had significant landscaping elements installed. The speed, quality of the work, and care during the process was very professional. The price was very competitive, and given the quality of the result, was more than worth it. You can't go wrong with these guys!

After reading all reports for concrete businesses (in our area) on Angie's List, we decided to call The Concrete Company for it showed the most reports/evaluations with an overall "A". We left a voice message and the owner, Matt Wallace, returned our call promptly. The next day Matt was here to give us an estimate. He was also very generous with his time and concrete advice for an unrelated matter. We found Matt to be friendly, professional, responsive, and a genuinely good person. BTW, he didn't even ask for a deposit. Within a few weeks, Matt's crew arrived, maneuvering their equipment down a narrow cement path amidst three gardens, always mindful of our plants. They explained what they were going to do, then proceeded to quickly complete the job. Shortly after, Matt arrived to inspect the work and to receive payment. We were delighted from start to finish and will definitely engage their services in the future. We've already begun recommending The Concrete Company to neighbors and friends.

Very well overall. Matt was very easy to deal with over the phone---he described the job as pretty standard and was willing to quote a price by phone, and the price was very fair. He predicted which week they'd be able to get to the job, about three weeks ahead, but warned this was somewhat weather dependent. A few days ahead he called to firm up a specific day, and then called again when it turned out they could do the job a day earlier. The crew was on time and finished about when they had predicted, and they did a generally neat and careful job, which I was able to observe fairly closely as I was working at home that day. I'd use them again gladly.

Start date was contingent on weather, which is understandable. Once they got started they moved along in timely fashion. Worked long days in extremely hot humid weather. Did excellent job. Needed to leave the project over a weekend and come back Monday morning, and made sure to clean everything up while they were away for the weekend. Very nice to work with. Extremely professional. Cost a bit more than other estimates but we were willing to pay because they noticed important things that needed to be done to make the job complete, like fixing garage floor in the front where it met up with the driveway. Very pleased.
