Kept us current on what they would be doing and when they would be doing it. Were always here when they said they would be. Cleaned up area each day when they were done with their work. Very satisfied with how the new area looks!

Our driveway has been a source of embarrassement for many years. Matt and his crew made the front of our house look neat and clean. The driveway is absolutely smooth, well done and easy to shovel. The kids love playing on it and the patio. They can ride their bikes up the driveway and down, now. We don't have to worry about tripping over crumbled blacktop anymore. The presentation is beautiful and we have had many neighbors stop by to ask who did the work. We are proud and pleased to give them The Concrete Company's name and number. We can wheel our trash cans out to the curb without risk of injury! The area next to the garage is amazing. Matt ran the leader from the gutter under the driveway and out the other side so the water won't collect on the driveway and freeze in the winter. He designed the extra wide driveway, patio and front stoop to look slick and clean and so it would be an excellent presentation for our home. We were also able to get credit for paying in cash at the beginning of the job. We would HIGHLY recommend Matt Wallace and the Concrete Company to everyone who needs work done!

I called to get a second opinion on a concrete patio replacement and replacement of an area near our front stoop. Our deck contractor recommended another contractor. We expected that we would go with that other contractor, but wanted a second opinion. We called Matt before we signed with the other contractor. Matt came right away. We walked around the area in question which also had drainage issues. Matt came back within a few days with a plan. He concerned himself with the drainage issues right away. He was going to add twice as much gravel to the under layment than the other contractor. He was going to haul away our cement for very little and do it himself. He talked about how he was going to solve the drainage problem in the slant of the patio, the new retaining wall, and peeling off a layer of dirt. He was extremely meticulous in his explanation. We were impressed with his expertise. We were impressed with Matt from the day he came to remove our concrete forward. He had set backs: broken truck, bad weather, etc. He was a month late in getting to our project. We were patient, watching his schedule online until we saw other projects going in front of ours for four weeks. By that time, I was ready to contact Matt. He apologized for the delay and gave us a discount for patiently waiting. Finally, our time had come. There were weather delays and problems with other projects. Matt will not pour a project unless the weather is just right. Matt came with his crew to set up for our project. Even though I had thought we would work with straight lines, he encouraged me to look into doing a curved line project. We picked our stamp and colors from the chart. He had never worked with our color before, but was willing to give it a try. He put down a good, clear gravel, put up the braces with beautiful curves. My deck guy refused to brace the door frame, so Matt did it himself (the wood had rotted). He created the small patio block near the front stoop, also with a curve.. His workers were all excellent and went out of their way to do what I wanted. One even made some quick stepping stones for me because I had stated that I wanted to try to make some. His were much better than mine. After the cement was poured and stamped it was stained. It ended up being the talk of the neighborhood. His workers came back to do the landscaping that would provide for the run off. They worked hard to complete it in one day. When I was not sure it was quite what we had talked about, Matt came back to look. He sent his guys back to change things so the slope was better. All this, and I had paid him in full ahead of time! All-in-all we are extremely happy with our experience with Matt. He really cares about his customers. He goes above and beyond to make sure he and his workers give your the best product. If I ever need a cement contractor again, I will call Matt. Sorry first contractor, but Matt's the best!

I chose the Concrete Company based on all of the positive reviews I read on Angie's List and it was definitely the right decision! My new driveway and sidewalk look fantastic! Matt was easy to work with all the way through and kept me informed of what was being done and informed me of delays due to weather. He also has an online website with a calendar that kept me informed of when my work would be done.His communicating so well with me was important as I have not had good luck in the past with contractors being responsive and keeping me informed. The work crew worked hard for 3 days and were pleasant,respectful and did a wonderful job of cleaning up. The end result of their hard work was a quality job! I would use and recommend The Concrete Company again in a heartbeat!

I wish I could add pictures here! Maybe Matt has them on his website! What a beautiful, amazing finished product he and his crew gave us! By bringing up the concrete to the proper level, he was able to go from 3 steps up to our front door, to just ONE BEAUTIFUL, curved stoop. It is perfect for us. We can actually fit 4 (FOUR!) cars in the driveway now and I can safely get grandkids, aging mother and groceries in and out of the house with ease. The old driveway was a safety issue and Matt saved us. We had the first snow blowing attempt on Sunday and what a breeze it was to clean up. When Matt first came out to our home to give us a quote, he was extremely professional and personable. As I briefly told him what we wanted, he got it right away. My husband and I liked and trusted Matt from the first moment he spoke. What a pleasure to work with someone so honest and hard working! He worked so hard to fit us in and get everything done before this unexpected cold/snow snap. We appreciate him and his crew very much.

Matt was great to work with, and the Concrete Company does quality work. We LOVE our new driveway, and it continues to look good since the job was completed in July. I found The Concrete Company on Angie's List this past spring. What I saw in past reviews and the fact that Matt Wallace, the owner was insured and bonded was enough for me to contact him. When I first sent an email out to his web site after 9 PM on a Friday night, I was not prepared for what came next. In a matter of 10 minutes I received a reply and continued to correspond with Matt for the next 20 minutes. Next thing I know is that he would be here the very next morning to discuss the work. Matt came out and we went over the work. He saw how badly my old drive way was and explained the reason's why. He explained how The Concrete Company does their work with removing the old concrete and the dirt underneath it in order to make room for the stone to be added for a good base. He also explained the use of with rebar spaced through out the job. On the October 15, 2014 he arrived with his crew to start the work. Everything he said he would do he did, and more. The politeness and customer service of this company was the BEST. From the time I paid the deposit in the spring to reserve my spot on the schedule to this day, Matt has always been available to reach on the phone with my questions and concerns. I have a few ideas as to what my next project will be and The Concrete Company would be the only call I would need to make.

The project went great. We got 3 estimates and The Concrete Company fell in the middle. When we met Matt Wallace, we liked him immediately and knew we wanted him to do our driveway. He was very helpful and professional. He has a great website and we could see on a calendar he provided when our driveway was scheduled to be worked on and if there were any weather delays. He got our estimate to us quickly and returned our calls when we had questions. He came out once more before the work started to make sure we were all on the same page. Matt and his crew were courteous and quiet. They cleaned up the work site well. Matt had some good suggestions about how to shape the walkway up to our house and it turned out very nice. A penetrating sealer was applied to the driveway and they returned in approx. 1 month to apply a 2nd coat. The final cost of the project was the same as the estimate we received. We have had a lot of compliments from our neighbors and will recommended Matt highly.

Great. Matt and his team are good people. They care about their craft and their customers. Matt also cares about his employees and they are paid properly. This was self evident in the conversations I had with Matt and his employees. Matt responded promptly to all calls, texts, and emails. I had a HORRIBLE experience with Ganser Company and, thus, was very, very, cautious with "signing on the dotted line". Matt was able to resolve every concern I had with the technical details of the job. We had serious issues with rain water drainage (nowhere for the water to go!!) but Matt was able to grade the driveway in a complicated manner such that all water was directed away from our house and garage and out between the two. Several downpours have demonstrated just how well this was accomplished. I have no doubt this company will be here for years to come and will stand behind their work. I cannot recommend this team more!

All went well. Matt kept in touch every step of the way. What he told me up front is what he delivered. No surprises. Very honest, hard working guy. Would recommend Matt and his crew to anyone. Lots of compliments on the completed project. Our little granddaughter was present during the initial day of work while the old driveway was being removed. She thought Matt was Bob the Builder. He was nice enough to play along. Every time she looks at the new driveway and patio she says Bob fix it! He sure did.

Working with Matt was great. He was very prompt and responsive during all phases of the project. He took time to explain our options and discuss the plan, and kept us up-to-date on the schedule of the project. I can't say enough wonderful things about working with Matt and his crew! From the initial phone call to the finish date, everything went incredibly smooth. After the initial meeting and estimate I had a few questions and over email Matt responded within the day no fail. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He made me feel comfortable with the decisions I was making and also was open to helping me with the design of the patio, color and stamped pattern. Matt was here first thing in the morning to start digging out the yard and prepping for the concrete to be poured the next day. He emailed me with updates of how things were going and what to expect. Matts' crew was also here bright and early the following day to get things done. They were courteous, kind and very personable. The crew worked quickly and I was surprised to see what a beautiful patio I had when I got home from work that day. Matt returned a few days later to seal the patio and fill in around the new concrete with top soil,seed and straw. He put my fence back up and talked with me about doing the driveway! My garage floor project went very well. Matt responded promptly to my request for an estimate. He came to my house to take a look at the project and by the time he left I felt like I had just met someone who took pride in his work and in delivering the best possible customer service. He explained to me in detail what the job would entail and how he would remove and replace the decades old cracked and sunken garage floor. He patiently answered the many questions I had for him in an intelligent, understandable manner. The floor was in terrible shape, cracked from front to back, side to side, sunken 4 inches toward the house foundation and funneling water into the basement whenever it rained. His description of his process sounded to me like he did the highest quality work one could hope for. I received a professional estimate in the mail with a thoroughly detailed description of the concrete installation process and the materials used. Documentation included his Warranty Info, proof of current Liability Insurance and Bond Certification, references, testimonials and, helpful information about the characteristics of concrete. For my floor, he jack-hammered and removed the old concrete. Driving his bobcat, loaded with large chunks of concrete, in and out of my single car garage was fun to watch until I realized how careful he had to be not to take out the sides of the garage or the overhead door. It was a tight fit, he was total concentration. Watching him dig out the old sand and mud base was a treat as well until it looked to me like he'd dug a hole so deep trying to find solid ground that he wouldn't be able to get the Bobcat out without toppling over backwards. He placed dowels in the concrete foundation as support for the floor, installed steel reinforcement rods for structural support, poured a 5" thick floor, sealed it, then cut stress lines into it the next day. The job was not done until he had cleaned up my driveway, the city sidewalk and the street. Working with Matt and his 2-man crew was a pleasure. Seriously, a pleasure. I was nervous about getting this project completed without a hitch at a price I could afford. Matt managed to make that happen for me. They do not swear, there is no smoking, no loud music, they are polite and courteous and hard-working. I've worked with all kinds of contractors, good ones, a couple nightmare contractors and quite a few in-between. Matt is a trustworthy craftsman, charges reasonably for high-quality work and respects his clients. If you need concrete work done, you can breathe easy hiring Matt. I'm hiring him again next Spring to remove and replace my old, crumbling driveway.

These guys are GREAT! We decided in the winter we wanted a patio since we've known for awhile our deck was in bad shape. We contacted many other companies, only to have them not show up for a scheduled estimate, not return calls or emails or finally respond months later. Very frustrating! A friend told us about the Concrete Company and we emailed him. IMMEDIATELY we got a response back. Matt Wallace came to our house in January of 2014 and we liked him immediately. He answered every question (and there were a lot!) and if there was a question he didnt know right away, he would find out for us. After finally getting a few estimates from other places, we knew we wanted to go with Matt and the Concrete Company. Matt himself is wonderful about responding back immediately to everything. Always on time. Just a very nice genuine person. We asked him about other things like stamping the front porch (which we didnt do) he explained that was a far bigger job than we thought, but did suggest maybe staining it in the future. He had some great ideas and understood exactly what we wanted. He is very knowledgeable and honest. During our initial mtg with him, we walked around the house he took measurements...he understood exactly what we wanted...Hes VERY easy to talk to and doesnt make you feel bad if you don't know the right terminology or if there is anything you don't understand. We stated what we wanted and he came back probably within a week with an estimate. We just had our patio and sidewalk installed last week and we couldn't be happier! About a week before they started he came by and spray painted out an outline and went over the details. We did worry the patio was going to be way bigger than what we had envisioned, but in the end its perfect and we love it!!!!! We love that he took the gutter drains and extended them out under the sidewalk. He also ran a pipe from the sump pump so that it runs under the patio and drains away from the house. Everything went VERY smoothly. I cannot say enough about Matt and his crew. ALL very nice guys. Everything exceeded our expectations. He kept us very up to date on what was happening and when. We wish every contractor was this easy to work with. We have worked with several different contractors in a few different states and he was by far the best and nicest. If only every house project was this easy! Everything ran very smoothly and our patio and sidewalk are gorgeous! In fact, when Matt was finishing up here and the AC was being reconnected, one of the Ac repair guys didnt understand why a concrete guy would be at the house. He was really surprised to hear that our patio was concrete since its stamped and colored to look like slate (Larger Ashlar slate pattern in a medium grey color). Its absolutely beautiful. Their attention to detail is spot on. We would recommend the Concrete Company to everyone. We cannot say enough about this company and the guys. I thought this went very well ! Of course, there are some ordinary weather hangups, but other than that, no problems. The concrete was 5 inches thick with the Approach being 7" thick per city code. It was sealed with an acrylic sealer and another sealer will be put on by the company in a month or two. The price included all gravel and materials. The course gravel was an astounding 3 feet deep because of the amount of clay that had to be dug out--a lot. This had to be done for proper drainage which is always a concern unless you like water in places where it should not be. Driveway was angled and sloped appropriately also. Control joints and broom finish were perfect. Steel rods were used on this driveway also. Ok to walk on the next day, but vehicles had to stay off for about 5 days. Other companies may cut some corners, but really, you get what you pay for, and when doing a big project like this, I wanted it to turn out right the first time. This was done on my rental property. I recently observed last week that some concrete driveway work was being done across the street on new construction where I live, and it was not nearly as well done. They pretty much ignored the clay, and I think that is a mistake. People were driving on it the next day and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with a drainage problem due to the clay. A construction company tried to fill in a low area by dumping dirt on it while ignoring the elephant in the living room--the clay area. Guess what...today I see they have a new little lake there--no actually it's quite a large pond. I'd say it's going to need a culvert. Yes I would recommend The Concrete Company from Stoughton, WI. [Note there is another company called "Concrete Company" (no "The" in the name) which I am not familiar with and have done no work with them. ]

Matt and his crew were fantastic. All the work was done professionally and much better than the original. I can't recommend them highly enough. Simply impressed by Matt and the entire crew.

Matt was great! He called back quickly and came over for an estimate. He told me what was going on with our porch and what our porch needed. His company doesn't do the type of work needed but he gave me names and numbers of contractors who did. He was VERY knowledgeable and took time to give me numbers of those who could help us. Although we didn't use his company this time we'll definitely keep him in mind for future projects.

Great looking driveway. Polite and courteous crew. Fast efficient work. Matt spent a lot of time with us talking about the project and working our ideas into a very nice looking drive and walk. We couldn't be more pleased and won't hesitate to use again in the future.

We had an excellent experience with Matt and his crew, they were meticulous and professional every step of the way. We had prior problems with water leaking into our basement and when Matt removed our old driveway he found that there was excessive water in the soil due to many reasons (it looked like mud soup). He definitely went the extra mile and did the absolute right thing even though it required more work than an average job, I believe that for him he was just doing the only acceptable thing which was to do it the right way. He had to excavate what seemed to be more than 3 feet to get all of the saturated mud out and then back filled with the proper materials, etc. The driveway itself looks fabulous, the design and execution have been commented on and commended by many neighbors and visitors. We are happy to have made the right choice in working with the Concrete Company. We will work with them again without hesitation should the need arise. Matt also showed us where we could have future water problems due to poor grading in our front yard and advised how that can be addressed.

First of all, I have to say my driveway was well worth the wait!! Contracting a concrete company is not an easy task, that?s why I put it off for two years. Matt at The Concrete Company was not the first person I talked to for an estimate, but he was the last! After our meeting, I knew I had found the company I wanted to replace my driveway. Matt took the time to explain the process and answer my questions. He made me feel like my job was important, not just another estimate. Matt?s schedule is busy, but your job will get done, just be patient! Like I said, it?s worth the wait. He has an online schedule which is updated regularly so you can see approximately when your job will start. When you get a couple of weeks out from your date, check the schedule periodically because your date will likely change. For me the schedule was very helpful; sure beats getting a call the night before the job is to start. When it came time for the work to be done, Matt and his employees did not disappoint. Matt and the crew are very friendly and professional. They even went above and beyond to do a couple extra things for me. My driveway looks great! It's amazing what a driveway can do to enhance the look of your home. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt and The Concrete Company for any concrete job. From estimate to finished job, I?m very impressed. Thank you Matt and crew for a job well done!

The Concrete Company did a great job. They paid close attention to the details that I specified in the quote. Matt was very prompt to reply back to me with my questions before, during, and after the job. Their Bobcat was to big to fit between my fence and house, so Matt rented a smaller Bobcat and took extra time so as not to damage the house. I'm very satisfied with the quality and appearance of the new driveway, patio, and entrance steps.
