Ted's Painting

It went very well. Ted is very professional. His flexibility to work with me to repaint was terrific. He left our bathroom spotless. The bathroom looks terrific and I would definitely use Ted again.

We moved into a house that is well maintained, but the previous owners had some... interesting taste in color. We hired Ted's Painting to paint the aluminum siding on the house and the wood garage and trim in a color more to our liking. Ted was able to start work in a few weeks, as it was the busy summer season. His work was thorough, he's very personable, and he was very respectful of our house and property during the project and in cleaning up. His assistants (when they were present) were also friendly and competent. His wife acts as his business manager, and her communication was prompt and courteous, if a little casual. Unfortunately weather worked against us and so the job took a bit longer than expected, but that's not the fault of Ted's Painting. The price was right and the work was good - overall a great experience!

We had to wait a month or two because of his schedule but he showed up when promised and finished it within a few days. He was careful to put as many coats of stain/paint as needed.

It went very well. The job took four days. On two of the days Ted had some help. The rooms look beautiful. I got two estimates, one for one coat and one for two coats. It needed two coats. It was a very professional job. I couldn't be happier. I would recommend Ted to anyone.

The process went very smoothly from start to finish. Telephone communication was handled well and the bid was forwarded promptly by email, making it easy to make adjustments as we firmed up exactly which services we wanted. Scheduling was arranged in a reasonable amount of time, with last minute changes due to rainy weather handled with no difficulty. Ted arrived promptly as scheduled and was very efficient and thorough in completing the work. The work was done well, and our deck and doors look so much better now. I would be happy to work with Ted's Painting again on future painting/staining work.

Ted was excellent all around. He did all the work himself. Very good painter. Prompt. No issues at all. I recommend him highly.

No problems with this job. The work was done exactly as specified, with no hassles. The area to be painted had a lot of woodwork and cabinets, also ceiling light fixtures. There was no paint anywhere that it wasn't supposed to be, and the site was completely clean when the work when was completed. The cost seemed average compared to other bids, and certainly reasonable for the quality of the work. I would recommend Ted's Painting.

The job went well. We had a challenging Spring, weather wise, for exterior painting and Ted managed this well. He requested to work on weekends when the weather was good and this was great for us. There was a high level of communication and we always knew what was going on. Ted is very personable and I feel he is completely trustworthy. His office manager communicated with us when necessary to keep us informed as to the progress of the project. She responded to our every email promptly. When there was any problem, Ted fixed it quickly, for example, the original paint supplier ran out of the base coat for our paint and Ted quickly worked to find a match for the color so he would not be delayed. Ted was also willing to absorb unexpected costs that were not a result of my (customer) changes in what was agreed to be done. In all, it was a very good experience. This is my first use of Angie's list and I have not been disappointed.

Ted's a great guy. Fair, punctual, honest, friendly, trustworthy. The job wasn't too difficult, but it was done well. I'll definitely choose Ted again.

He did a very good job for us. I know he has got a number of positive reviews that are on Angie?s list already. He was very careful, very prompt, and really did a good job. I would say that he is a very careful, meticulous painter. He does a good job at a very fair price. He did virtually all the work himself. He did have one other person helping him on a couple of days, but everybody was very good. They did a very nice work on the cleanup after they finished everyday and good work on the painting. I don?t have any complaint at all.

This is our second big project with Ted. Based on the first project we were confident the project would go well and as expected Ted completed the job on time and it looks great. Even with our 14ft ceilings he did a great job getting clean edges between the ceiling and walls. I would recommend him for your painting needs.

Ted was fantastic all around. I called to inquire about services on a Friday and he schedule an estimate on Saturday. At the time of the estimate, he explained the work that was necessary very clearly. He provided an estimate via email that evening, which included supplies and labor. Ted completed the work the following Monday and Tuesday. He was punctual, professional and courteous. He matched the paint and texture of our ceiling perfectly. His labor/time estimate was spot on. When his work was complete, he cleaned up sufficiently and we reviewed his work. Without a doubt, I would recommend Ted and I would also use his services in the future.

He helped us choose a color, and we were able to schedule the job right away. He arrived on time, and was very careful to cover up the floor and any areas where paint and other materials might have marred a surface. He paid great attention to detail in his work, and cleaned up each day he was working. Ted finished on schedule and we plan to have him repair a wall and repaint our dining room.

Ted arrived on scheduled to prepare surfaces for painting. Ted was pleasant to work with and performed the work very professionally. The one disappointment was that Ted was expecting to have a helper, but when he called to find out why the helper was not at the work site, he was informed that the helper was sick and not coming. Ted did the entire job himself, and thus the work took about twice as long as expected, even going over a weekend when work was not performed. The result was that a good part of the house was not available for use during that time. Other than that, I was very satisfied with his work and would not hesitate to hire Ted's Painting again.

Ted did a small job for us. Although this was a small job, he gave it his utmost attention. Not only is he a great painter, very good at his job, very professional and neat, but he a very nice guy as well. We are delighted we found him through Angie's List and will definitely call him again when we need painting work.

Room was left clean after the job was "done" and wall sanding dust was minimized as much as possible. Wall coverage was good. Some paint on woodwork. We provided the paint, but the painter approved the amount and made a slight misjudgement. This became an issue, because the hardware store where we bought the paint had made a slight color error in mixing and a subsequent quart was not a satisfactory match. End result of the overall project: texture and trim work were not satisfactory. Painter's time line and ours didn't work out to address the texture and trim problems before we were expecting company. We ended up repainting the room ourselves. We asked painter for a portion of the project cost in refund. A refund was refused on the basis that we hadn't asked painter prior to fixing the problem ourselves if that would be okay and if a refund would be possible. This seemed a little petty to us, as we had only asked him to refund what he thought would be fair for our trouble and because he didn't have to come back and fix the problems himself (which would have amounted to him repainting our whole room without charging for all the extra time --- seemed like a better deal for him). Finally, communication seemed to be problem between us and this painter --- both direct face-to-face communication and e-mail/phone messaging.

Ted immediately scheduled a time to estimate and provided the quotes three days later (Friday to Monday). I requested three different quotes covering different parts of the house and he got them exactly right, and with an excellent price. He started by painting the ceilings and the bathrooms. One thing I wasn't sure of was the fact that he did two coats on the ceilings in the same day. It was a very dry and warm day, so maybe that's totally fine. He then painted the rest of the condo in about 4 days. He went out of his way to scrape off messy parts from a previous paint job and fill them in with spackling, which was very nice. He was also fairly tidy, going as far as to unplug his stereo from the wall at the end of every work day. In the end, we got an excellent deal. Unfortunately, there were some paint spots on the floor, but I'm sure if you mentioned that he would be extra-careful.

Excellent work, all conducted as proposed. Communications during the estimating process and while coordinating to do the work were also excellent. Would recommend highly.

Excellent experience - one of his first customers in Madison. Prompt and always called ahead with any timing adjustments due to weather, etc. Kept area clean and did not harm flower beds. We felt we had good communication with Ted. Will definitely use him again.

Ted was great to work with. He was able to fix the parts we tried to paint, but failed at, and made all the other rooms look great! He kept the areas very clean, was on time, and was honest. He was able to handle our high ceilings some of which were on the steps with out any problems. I was impressed at how he was still able to get very clean lines where the tall ceiling met the wall. We are looking forward to working with him on painting some additional rooms. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants an excellent paint job.
