Hiring Summit was a great pain-free experience. Jenny was very nice and professional about being available to help us find a granite countertop that met our style and budget. The installation process, despite a hiccup with the measurements of one piece, was awesome overall: the 2 installers worked very diligently, precisely, and professionally. What I liked most was how transparent they were, as they were happy to answer any questions so I understood what kitchen areas they did and did not have to affect, and they gave their own advice from past experience on customizations. Some hiccups are inevitable sometimes, but it was easy to get in contact with Jenny to schedule a time for them to make a correction. Overall, pretty happy with the job well done.

It was terrible. The installation was subpar. The granite does not fit properly and rain leaks through counter onto the appliances. The granite is terrible. After asking several times if the granite was appropriate for the outdoors, we were not only told yes, but not to worry because there is a one year warranty. Within a month we noticed issues with the granite fading. We met with the owner who said that they would take it back and refund our money. When we asked, a week later, when would they take the granite out, we were told that that was no longer an option. Not only has the granite continued to fade but the surface is no longer smooth and has sharp spots. They obviously used a colored resin to coat the stone. The stone was once a beautiful, dark rich brown/black color. It is now a dull peachy/white color. We have tried to resolve this with the owner many times. She will not stand by her warranty. She states, no returns after installation, even though she warrants the product for a year. She will not return phone calls or emails. When she set a meeting at our house at 10 am, she showed up early, took pictures and left before 10 a.m. We waited for 30 minutes and when we called the office they told us that she had already left. This owner is not ethical and does not stand by her word.

The installation went very quickly. There was one day for making the templates and another day for the installation. They were very efficient. We were very happy with them and we’re happy with our counters.

Showroom experience was 5 out of 5. Pre-install (measurements) appointment was 4 out of 5 - a little late. Install was 3 out of 5 - 2 hours late. Issues post-install were 1 out of 5: sink was installed improperly; three clips were not tightened and the sink hung low on one side (half inch!). Calked only the back of the sink. Dishwasher was reinstalled improperly; very crooked; dishwasher still leans forward when a rack is extended. Seams are chipped and epoxy is gone on one seam; where two pieces join, epoxy is applied to hide the seam. Seams are also uneven, meaning if I set a coffee cup on a seam, it teeters. Big flaws in the material; we ordered a complex pattern and so some flaws were expected. However, clear epoxy was used to fill a few pits, one the size of a dime. Mismatched seams/patterns; we asked for a single piece in one highly visible part of the counter. Summit installed two pieces because they didn't want to risk breaking the section during transport or install. The seam is one of the teetering seams and the pattern is mismatched - and in the most visible/used section of the counters. Finally, the finish isn't very smooth or polished. We've sealed and polished the granite three times since install, and it still lacks a gloss comparable to that of our friend's countertop, sold and installed by a different vendor at about the same time. We don not recommend this vendor. While negotiating with them to fix our issues I learned that they imported our granite from China at a "discountedl" rate. Buyer beware: lowest bid doesn't guarantee good (much less great) quality. We made that mistake.

We visited several granite providers and looked at granite selections and got quotes from 5 contractors. Summit Granite was one of the most competitive quotes so we investigated more and looked online for feedback, etc. We asked a lot of questions about how the work would be done, timeframes, seams, etc. and got straightforward answers. We got the site measured and made some changes to the dimensions and they made adjustments to the price right away. We were also able to select the pieces of granite that would be used and they had a good selection of pieces so we could get what we wanted. They were there on time on the installation date and had the installation completed within 2 hours...again, right on time. We love the finished product!
